Max's POV

Kurama took my place in the three-way fight as I stayed at the hotel, curled up in bed. Botan stayed behind but stayed in the living room watching her magic ball. Hiei and I haven't spoken since the night at the restaurant but I could hear Kurama talking to him yesterday. I laid my head on the pillow and remembered what he told Hiei.

A couple of hours ago

"Are you freaking kidding me!" Kurama never raised his voice. "She came in crying and now you feel like you did something wrong. Just because she is crying"

"Just let me see her Kurama" His voice was off balance and sloppy.

"Over my dead body!" Yusuke yelled at Hiei from the couch. "Leave her alone Hiei, haven't you done enough damage already"

"I was pissed off I had no idea that he had come alone and spotted Max, intruding on their 'girl's night'!" Hiei was running and it seemed like towards my door but the sound of extra foots and ruffling sounds put Hiei in the room next to me.

I got up quickly and locked the joining doors. I slid down the door.

"I'm sorry Max" he slid down the door as well as I held my breath. "If you can hear me I hope you can forgive me"

Present

I couldn't tell if he was messing with my head or being sincere. My head was a mess and my eyes were red and puffy from crying so much. It took a few minutes before I pulled myself out of bed, dressed in sweats and a baggy sweatshirt along with mix matched fluffy socks.

"Hey girly" Botan smiled warmly at me. "The boys are almost back but Hiei won't be back until later"

I nodded and went to the fridge, grabbing an apple as the front door opened.

"Afternoon sleeping beauty" Yusuke winked which was followed by Keiko hitting him in the back of the head.

"Max would you like to go out with me to see the planetarium" Kurama walked in, one sleeve had a huge tear in it.

"Sure, let me fix that sleeve first" I quickly grabbed my small sewing kit from my suitcase as Kurama sat on my bed.

"Max, you know I don't think I will ever stop liking you" he laughed a little.

I blushed and started to sew up the sleeve. After the sleeve was fixed we made our way to the planetarium. Kurama didn't stand to close but nor too far away from me. He smiled down at me.

"Hey Maxine!" Leo ran up, a girl fallowing him.

"Hey Leo, this is my friend Kurama" I smiled and hugged him.

"this is my girlfriend Tsubaki" He laughed a little "She's actually part of another team this year"

"Nice to meet you Tsubaki" I smiled and she smiled big holding out her hand.

"Nice to meet you too Max, I've heard a lot about you" She smiled big.

I felt something tug at my heart as she smiled up at Leo and he wrapped his arm around her. I looked at Kurama.

"It's ok" he wasn't smiling but signed. "he probably needs you more than I do"
