Hiei's POV

I was groggy, on pain medication from a sword slash that I carelessly didn't dodge and wide awake. I was the only one at the hotel so it was quiet and I hated the silence. The bang of the door closing startled me almost making me drop the tablet that Max lets me barrow.

"Hiei?" Max yelled from the living room.

"I'm in my room Max" I yelled back wincing as my wound flared in pain.

She ran in frantic, letting out huge sobs, tears falling down her face.

"Max what's wrong?!" I sat up to wince again.

"I'm so sorry Hiei" She hugged me crying.

"I'm the one who should be sorry" I tried not to whimper but Max was applying pressure to the cut.

She looked and saw the bandage before backing away, almost falling over.

"Sorry" She laughed a little. "I didn't notice that you were hurt"

"I was careless today. I was jealous yesterday. What will you do to me tomorrow?" We both laughed.

I laid back down into a comfy position and Max curled into the bed by me.

"I love you" She looked at the tablet as I played a game.

"I love you too"

Leo's POV

I made my way with Tsubaki back to her hotel.

"Your friend was very nice and pretty" She looked up at me.

"Yes but she wasn't always like that" I held my head straight.

"Really?" she perked up a bit.

"She used to bully other kids. Got into fights when she could." We sat down and I looked at my hands. "She got in trouble with the law after sneaking into a bar when her friend convinced her that a famous guy would be there. Her friend rated her out and Max was in jail for over 90 days. It wiped her in shape. Bad things happened to her in jail that she will never talk about"

"Has she said anything at all about what happened there?" Tsubaki leaned her head agents my arm.

"She told me one thing, that they out her in a room with other girls before having to move her to a single cell with a couple of broken ribs and a deep gash across her back" Tsubaki looked up at me confused.

"How did she get the gash?"

"Some girl had a piece of glass smuggled in" I looked back at her. "They knew Max was coming in. They had been prepared for her."

"That's terrible" she got all defensive.

"Yah the other girls had to be admitted to the hospital" I laughed a little and stood up picking up Tsubaki easily bridal style. "But she is all good now. And you my love have no reason to worry"

"I know" she giggled as we made our way inside.
