Max's Pov

my throat burned as I tried to open my eyes. I sat up a little, and winced in pain as a deep pain was in my shoulder.

"Lay back down" Hiei looked up from the chair that was beside me.

"Nah I'm fine" I tried getting to my feet.

I moved my feet to the floor and collapsed to my knees. Hiei sighed and came over and helped me back onto the bed.

"Hiei?" he held onto my hand and laid his head on my good shoulder.

"I should of been there" I frowned and laid my hand on his hair and stroked it.

"It's ok" I said quietly.

"No its not!" He took my head from his hand into his. "I should of been there for you and I'm so sorry I wasn't"

I sighed a little and even through the pain wrapped my arms around his neck hugging him.
He wrapped his arms around me holding me tight.

"I love you Hiei" I laid my head on his shoulder.

He tensed up a moments then relaxed.

"I love you too"
