I Did It

After JiJi and John finished, the whole class erupted with claps and cheers. There were even students who just finished their classes, joining in the room to listen. But to make it clear: the room was packed. They placed the instruments back to where they took them and then proceeded back to their seats with smiles and thanks.

"Okay, down to our last performers." Ms. Li announced after writing down notes on her clipboard. "Ryan and Mikaela."

"Good luck!" JiJi squealed quietly to us. Ryan laughed while Mika shyly smiled then they went up front. She took a seat on the same stool JiJi used while Ryan went to get a white guitar and another stool.

"Okay. Um. Uh." Mika scanned the people in front of her. Her heart started pounding and she started to have difficulty in breathing. She fidgeted with her fingers nervously.

"Mika." Mika turned to the source of the voice and saw Ryan. His eyes glinting with assurance. "You'll be fine."

"Y-yeah.." Mika blinked and let out a shakey breath. She looked back at the audience and in the midst of that sea of people, she can see John and JiJi giving them encouraging smiles and thumbs up at the very back of the room. She closed her eyes.

"Um. Sorry, okay, we're gonna be doing I Wouldn't Mind by He Is We." Ryan said, taking over when he saw Mika closing her eyes as a message that she has to calm down first. He held the guitar properly and looked at Mika, waiting for her signal to start. She breathed out  and opened her eyes. She looked at him and nodded. She started stumming and Ryan followed with the plucking.

Claps erupted around the room. Loud cheers heard from the back of the room from two specific beings. Mika smiled softly and let out a shaky breath. She looked at Ryan who was already looking back at her.

"You did great." He grinned at her. Mika blushed and said a quiet 'thanks.' They cleaned up and went back to their seats as ms. Li ushered the other students to now leave the room so she can dissmiss her class.

"You did awesome Mika!" JiJi exclaimed upon their arrival. John nodding enthusiastically with every word the girl said. "You sing so heavenly!"

Mika blushed even more. "Thank you."

Krrriiiinnnngg!!

"Alright class, why don't you all give yourselves a round of applause cause you all did great." Ms. Li smiled and the students cheered. "You're dismissed. Thank you and goodbye."

"This was the fun day ever!" JiJi jumped up, knocking her chair back. "We have twice the ms. Li on Friday!"

"Well, we have music classes all week but considering the fact that we had arts today, I'll have to agree." John said, picking the fallen chair and placing it neatly under JiJi's desk. Ryan and Mika agreed.

"So thoughts on the music festival?" JiJi grinned as the started their way to the door. "What do you think if we'll have a show set of our own?"

"It'll be a disaster on stage Jim, you know that." John rolled his eyes with a small laugh.

"I have a fear of huge crowds remember?" Ryan eyes JiJi.

"And I do have stage fright." Mika quietly shared.

"See? And we both know you're clumsy asf and we're both accident prone." John said.

"Well, at least I can dream anytime I want, you spork." JiJi exclaimed. Ryan laughed at them as they walked out but not without Mika saying a quiet 'thank you' and 'goodbye' to Ms. Li as the passed.

Ms. Li can't help but smile at them.

"Hey mum." Mika entered the kitchen to her mum cooking dinner.

"Hello dear." Elena greeted back.

"I am overwhelmed at the amount of spices I'm smelling, so I need a confirmation if we're having curry or not." Mika rambled. And went to kiss her mother's cheek and what she saw in the pot was enough confirmation she needed. "Yep I'll take that as a yes even though you didn't say anything about it to me and I'm heading upstairs to do my homework and also to restrain myself with hogging the pot from you. Goodbye."

Elena laughed as Mika went up to her room. By the time she entered her room, she turned on her fairy lights and desk light, sprawled her homework across the desk and threw her bag at the side. She sighed and slumped down on her chair.

Ping! Ping! Ping! Ping! Ping!

Mika reached back to her bag and took her exploding phone out.

JiJi named the chat '👑 Kings and Queens 👑'

JiJi named herself 'Kitty'

JiJi named Ryan 'King'

JiJi named you 'Queen'

Mika blushed at that.

JiJi named John 'Spork'

Spork: "Hey, why am I a spork?"

Kitty: "Deal with it, you spork."

King: "Hahahahaha!"

Mika laughed.

Kitty: "Still up for tomorrow?"

Queen: "Up to you guys.."

Kitty: "I'm down.."

Spork: "Did you intend that? 😂"

Kitty: "Hahahahahahahahaha no."

King: "Yyyyeaah.. we'll be there my Queen 💕."

Mika blushed.

Queen: "Come over whenever then."

King: "Sure."

Spork: "We can have a picnic dinner, it'll be great!"

Kitty: "JOHN! CLEAN THE FUCKING FLOOR IN THE STORAGE ROOM I KNOW YOU'RE THE ONE WHO SPILLED ALL THE SUGAR PACKETS!"

Spork: "I'M WORKING ON IT!"

Kitty: "THEN WHY THE HELL ARE YOU STILL IN HERE!?"

King: "Sorry 😂 we're at work rn. JiJi went to get more straws in the storage room and saw a mess on the floor and John is nowhere to be seen."

Queen: "Oh wow 😂"

King: "JiJi is like furiously typing on her phone while looking for John atm 😂 she's probably on pm with him."

Queen: "I can only imagine 😂"

"Mika! Dinner's ready!" Mika heard her mother call from downstairs.

Queen: "Gtg, mum made curry for dinner. We can chat tomorrow cause I still have to do homework right after."

King: "Okay my Queen 💕"

Queen: "Stoooop.."

King: "Hahahahahahahahaha!"

Queen: "Send John my good lucks."

King: "I'll make sure to let him know 😂"

Mika smiled and went downstairs. She helped prepare the table and the West ladies sat down to eat.

"So how was your first week?" Elena asked.

"It was fine." Mika replied, quietly praying that that was enough information she was going to spill for tonight.

"Elaborate." Elena smirked. Mika rolled her eyes playfully.

"It was.. different." Mika started. "I am less bullied now that I have Ryan, John and JiJi with me all the time. Well, except for the first two classes we have. We're seperated in the morning. But we spend the rest of the day together. And mum, you would never guess what JiJi made in Arts class! It was incredible!"

This went on for an hour with Mika rambling and sharing to her mother with what happened in school and her mother nodding with a smile now and then.

"You're getting rather talkative again." Elena laughed. Mika blushed. "That's great hun." The silence.

"Mum?"

"Hm?"

"I sang in music class."

Elena looked up to her daughter.

"I did it mum. I did it." Mika had tears pricking at the corners of her eyes.

"Oh hunny." Elena cooed with her fair share of tears.
