You came up to me today.
It was Friday,
your new girlfriend right next to you.
I felt kind of bad
for that other girl you once had,
but it was her fault
for falling for you in the first place.
Closing my locker,
your girlfriend roughly grabbed my arm
and yanked me to a vacant classroom.
What she did in there
was awful,
and
you only helped her.
You only watched.
"this is what you get bitch"
she scowls
and pulls something out of her pocket,
a lighter.
"wait mackenzie"
you say baffled.
"isn't this going too far"
your girlfriend just laughs.
"just hold her down will you"
and as my eyes fixed itself on the lighter,
my breathing got harder,
faster.
"please don't"
is what I try to say.
But nothing comes out.
So I shake my head quickly,
tears building in my eyes.
You wrapped one arm around my body
and you covered my mouth
with your other hand.
I was shaking now,
as Mackenzie grabbed my arm
and switched on the lighter.
My sobs got muffled by your hand.
Someone please help me.
Please.
I'm not fine
I'm not fine
I'm really not fine.
And as those flames made contact
with my skin,
I screamed out in agony.
That didn't stop either of you.
