| Sixty Five |
I'm sitting in the doctor's office now.
Waiting,
just waiting
until I'm called.
"good afternoon elliot. how are you"
She was nice enough,
I guess.
But as soon as she checked my weight,
everything went downhill.
"you're only 93 lbs. you're extremely undernourished"
She kept on talking and talking,
but I didn't care for a single thing she said.
All that entered through my ears was
"underweight"
"unhealthy"
"weight gaining bars"
I just nodded,
pretending to be a good patient.
But deep in my heart,
I knew that as soon as dad picked up the prescription
for those bars,
I'd throw them away.
I don't care if this is killing me.
I don't care if not eating will make me weak.
Pathetic.
I already am,
so what's the point?
At least I'll be beautiful.
So as I made an empty promise to the doctor
saying that I'd try,
I walked out of her office
all the while thinking
I'm fine
I'm fine
I don't need her help.
I'll be fine.
