Captured
(A/N) I am back! *crickets chirping* Um, well, onto the story? I'm wondering what'll happen if I stopped updating for a while... Maybe then the imaginary angry mob will be after me...
"Eliminate us?" Ronan asked, before glancing at his watch and cursing. "Hera, I've got to go. Sorry." He melted into the shadows, leaving them standing there.
"Was that supposed to be a curse?" Emma wondered.
"Him muttering the name of a goddess? Yes, something like that. Better than using Hades's name, he gets rather irritated when we do that." Anete said, staring back out at the army.
"By the way, no Ronan is not a child of Hades," Kella said, glancing once more at the army, then turning away. "Come on, let's go see if we can help Ronan corral his younger siblings."
"I can get us there, but I've never teleported such a big group, so if anyone is left behind, don't be surprised." Emma offered.
"How do you get left behind?" Titos asked, fiddling with a piece of wire he pulled seemingly out of nowhere. Emma grinned, the action reminding her of Secilia's habit of doing that when she was nervous.
"I don't have enough power to teleport you, I promise nothing bad happens, you're just left standing there." Emma said, reassuring him.
"I guess we'll take that option," Kella said, cautiously placing her hand on Emma's outstretched arm.
"Hold on," Emma said. She teleported to a place close to Ronan's location, a place that would ensure they were hidden from sight.
"Wow, that felt weird," Illya said, staggering over to one of the trees and leaning on it.
"Hm, usually it doesn't feel like anything," Emma noted.
"Kirin are notoriously resistant to magic, so I'm not too surprised," Elyse said, patting Emma's shoulder.
"And, everyone's here?" Emma asked, scanning the group. "Yep, looks like it, except Kora, who isn't a big fan of short distance teleportation.
Kella glanced around. She hadn't even noticed that Kora hadn't come with them, but when she spotted a dark shape flying towards them, she relaxed.
"I see you found some new friends," Loreley drawled, appearing in between the trees.
"Loreley," Kella snarled.
"Just a question, do you look like an evil demon lady with a goat leg all the time?" Emma wondered, wrinkling her nose.
"What?" Loreley asked, momentarily distracted.
"Well, wouldn't that make it hard to blend in?" She pressed.
"She can see straight through the mist," Illya explained, rejoining the mini herd of people in the center of the clearing. "She spotted you last night."
"A clear-sighted mortal huh? Well, that just makes this harder, but not so much that we can't capture you!"
"I think I can put up more of a fight then you think." Emma defended herself.
"You're just a mortal," Loreley said dismissively. "What can you possibly do?"
"Ow!" Emma said suddenly, a hand flying to her neck. "What was that?"
Kora took this opportunity to land and check Emma's neck. "A dart, it went through your armor and lodged in your neck."
"It had a sedative," Emma muttered, her eyes rolling back in her head as she passed out, falling on top of Kora.
"Your brother is going to kill me for this," Kora muttered, looking down at the unconscious Emma.
"Get them," Loreley ordered, a dozen more darts flying out of the trees at the group. Kella lasted the longest, the others ending up stuck with darts pretty quickly. Kora almost resembled a pincushion, darts embedded in most uncovered skin from her neck down.
"What about the neko boy?" A snake-lady asked her.
"I don't care what you do, just get him," Loreley ordered, grinning evilly at the passed out heroes and demigods. "Wait until you see what the master has in store for you, little heroes."
Emma opened her eyes slowly, remembering how she'd been knocked out. She used her telepathy to scout out her surroundings, but there was no one except the team and the demigods who'd joined them.
"Where is Shadow?" Someone asked, coming into the room. "He's supposed to be here."
"Apologies my lord, he was separate from the others, my henchmen are collecting him as we speak." Emma recognized the sound of Loreley's voice, choosing to remain limp in favor of not having to endure the sight of the empousa.
"When he is brought here, toss him in as well, setting 4." The first voice ordered. The voice was deep, rough, sounding almost like someone who'd been inhaling coal all his life.
"And the others?" Loreley asked.
"Will be in there too, still on setting four." The voice drew closer, and Emma realized she couldn't read his mind, it was a closed box to her, one that she didn't know how to open.
"Is that wise, m'lord?" Loreley questioned a tinge of fear in her voice.
"Do not question me, Loreley, I can, and will, send you back to Tartarus."
"Of course, my lord," Loreley said quickly.
From what Emma could tell, he was picking up, then tossing in, each person individually. "A demon?" He muttered. "Where'd they get a demon?"
"She's an old world demon, she appeared a little while ago."
"And the mortal you captured?" He asked, tossing another person in.
"She can see through the mist, though I've never seen her before."
"Hm. And you said the celestial bronze tip actually hurt her?"
"Yes, she seems susceptible to Celestial bronze," Loreley replied cautiously.
"Odd, you'll have to check her out. Emma, they said her name was."
That was the last Emma heard before blacking out again, her unconscious body tossed through the portal.
(A/N) Muhaaaaaaa! Where does this portal lead? What does setting four mean? Almost none of these questions will be answered next chapter, so you'll have to wait a little while. Bye!
