Amelia's POV:

Thank god my last class was finally over, now i can head to lunch with Sarah and Bryc- wait crap. I forgot i promised to meet up with Chase later, ugh and i don't like breaking my promises......... I lurked the halls looking for Chase since i already know he wasn't gonna eat in the cafeteria today. "Duh i have a phone." I scolded myself as pull out my phone about to call Chase.

""Meli!!!!"" Someone yelled that annoying ass nickname. Making some students still roaming the halls direct their attention towards the annoying screaming chick. "What did i say about calling me Meli you Click and Clacking witch?!"  She was running towards me making her heels click and clack. That was until she stopped dead in her tracks at my comment staring at me mouth ajar. ""HUMPH that was cold Meli, even for you."" She said giving me a prideful look a parent gives their child when they can prove they're not a total failure.......

""And i do not Click and Clack."" She said purposely making her heels Click and Clack "Yeah whatever, anyway what are doing running down the hall calling me that annoying ass nickname." I asked starting to get annoyed and quickly sending Chase a quick text and then checking the time.

""Oh right that, i was looking for you and Chase me Bryce we're gonna go to that cafe were i get chocolate muffins from. We were wondering if you two wanna come since you both liked the cafe's muffins .""  I was actually shocked by her response and i instantly felt bad for getting frustrated with her, but i feel even more bad knowing i'm going to have to reject her. "Oh i'm so sorry but me and Chase are going out for lunch."

Sarah's face instantly dropped at what i said but she quickly turned her frown upside down, i always thought she was an idiot for hiding her emotions behind a smile. I first met her in elementary. I envied her for so long because she had all the naive little boys falling to their knees for her and girls attached to her by the hip but. Out of all the people she could have chosen to be her friend, she chose me the bitchy quiet girl who sits in the back of the class. I thought she was joking you know pulling a sick prank but trust me.......She was dead serious.

She always used to say ""You should smile more, you know your never fully dressed with out one."" She would say with a warm smile that could lighten up anyone's day, no matter how crappy their day was. I never figured out how she does that, huh i guess i'll have to ask her about that one day.

My phone suddenly buzzed notifying me that i got a text it distracted me from my thoughts but the text said.

Chase 101 is typing....

I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting and for what i'm about to say, i kinda got detention so you go on with whatever plans you had before i asked you out for lunch. Once again i'm so sorry, i  promise i'll explain how i got detention when it's over you just gotta promise you won't hit me......

"Chase obviously said worried of what i might do to him, and depending on what he did that idiot is definitely in trouble when he gets out of detention. I said to myself grinding my teeth, ugh i was practically fuming  at this point but. At the same time i'm kinda happy our lunch date is now cancelled, because now i don't have to think about breaking up with him today. But just to be petty i left him on read.

""You okay? you only do that crazy teeth grinding thing when something is bothering you."" Sarah asked giving me a worried look. "It's nothing and never mind Chase got detention so me you and Bryce and just go to the cafe with out him." She frowned again but this time she didn't hide it looks like she was trying but she failed miserably.

"What's the sad face for, didn't you hear the good news?" She scoffed which caught me off guard she looks......Pissed  ""Of course i heard YOUR good news but what about me? or Chase?"" She said trying not to raise her voice but her slightly raised voice triggered me. "What do you mean what about you and Chase? he has detention and i don't so i can go with you what's the problem?" I asked her trying to control my twitching eyebrow. ""I mean you act like you don't care sometimes and it's bothering me, are you and Chase fighting or something."" She responded starting to calm down a bit, not all the way but enough to make me feel little bit better.

"Look i do care about Chase, just right now i'm mad at him and he tried to make up for it through lunch."  Well i'm not exactly lying i still do care about  Chase just not in the same way he cares about me, i can see it in his eyes how much he cares about me. I hate it, i hate it so much not Chase just he fact that i'm leading him on it's like every time i try to break up with him either something comes up or something happens to one of us. It's starting to get annoying honestly but. I know the news will crush Chase and when it crushes him Sarah is gonna crush me and i don't look forward to it anytime soon.

""Okay see now that i understand look Amelia, your my best friend but Chase is my brother and i love Chase to death it's like you and the twins NOTHING comes in between family."" She said a little to aggressive for my taste but i understand her reason it's like she said NOTHING comes in between family and as an older sibling i can understand that. "I can respect that as long as you respect me and Chase's privacy and personal space okay?" I asked holding out my hand hoping she wouldn't break it  just then she grabbed my hand but surprisingly enough, it wasn't in an aggressive way. ""Okay but you better not hurt my brother Amelia."" Her hand tightened slightly. ""And i mean it."" She said threateningly giving me that 'bitch you better not' look, a look that would make a child cower........

I nodded my head so fast i feel like it might fall off later, and i nodded because i didn't trust myself to use my voice fearing that it might come out as a squeak. ""Great and to answer your question, i wanted Chase to come because he's been so busy lately and. I feel like he doesn't tell me what's going on is his life anymore so i was hoping if you were there he would open up more. You know i just want my brother back, he may not think he's being secretive but he is and i was hoping you knew......"" She said sounding defeated.

"Okay how about this, tomorrow is Friday meaning it's gonna be half a day so why don't we all just go out you know. Like old times?" I said sheepishly, suddenly Sarah grabbed my hands and clasped it with hers putting them to her chest looking at me with big eyes. ""Do you really mean it!? would you really do that for me er- us?"" She asked stumbling over her words slightly, i chuckled a bit at her reaction. "Of course i would we are friends after all." I said giving her a warm smile and a hug, we broke the hug but she suddenly looked confused.

"What is it?" I asked slightly worried but seeing how i reacted she quickly explained herself. ""Don't worry it's nothing bad but i am curious to how Chase got detention."" She explained tapping her chin wait, now that i think about it how did Chase get detention in the first place? Now that i think about it i would probably know what happened to him if i didn't leave him on read. The loud ringing of the bell distracted me from my thoughts  making me jump and probably Sarah's as well since she jumped at the loud ringing of the bell too. My stomach feels like it's about to eat itself.

""Aw man we missed lunch talking all this ti-"" Sarah was interrupted by a brown paper bag thrown at her face. ""DAMMIT BRYCE WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!?"" Sarah complained loudly while opening up the brown paper bag, Bryce handed me mine. ""Oh so you throw mines but not hers?!""

""Hey if your gonna complain then i'll gladly take back my muffin."" Bryce said holding out his hand dead serious. ""Calmf dowm bwabe i wus jus kiddin."" Sarah mumbled shamelessly her face stuffed with chocolate muffin. "Ugh you are so grossed." I laughed taking a bite of my banana nut muffin and i heard Bryce say 'mmhmm' obviously agreeing with me.

""You two are so mean!!"" She pouted throwing pieces of her muffin wrapper at me and Bryce, we both dodged it and laughed at her. She pouted again but ending up laughing as well which caused me and Bryce to start laughing again.

I really do have the best friends........
