Chapter 69
Author PoV
Jungkook bowed to Bambam's father and mother before they'd take the casket back to Bangkok, Thailand. The family wanted the funeral to more private, not allowing any of Bambam's fans and friends to freely visit the funeral.
After giving his last condolences to the family, he went to the place he and Bambam drinks soju in free nights. It wasn't a well-known place, but it was a place that they felt more human. And for the past few months, both of them have not visited the place.
He drank almost a case of soju and asked Chaeyoung to pick him up. That night, she was worried sick and can't sleep. 2 in the morning, he hasn't texted her where he is or where he'd go. But when she arrived in the restaurant, Jungkook was crying.
The owner's son had to help her put him in the car and when they both got home, Jungkook can't control himself anymore. He drank soju and reached more than what his limit can reach. At the same time, Chaeyoung was half-asleep, not knowing what she was doing.
The morning came, and both of them were naked under their sheets, hugging each other. Chaeyoung's flight is today and she can't afford to miss it.
Especially that her parents must know that she's engaged to Jiyoon's father, and she should visit Australia once more as a not-married person.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Jiyoon entered the room and jumped on top of the edge of their bed.
"Mom! Dad!" Jiyoon bounced. "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!"
"Kook, your kid says wake up," Chaeyoung mumbled.
With his eyes closed, "She's your kid too..."
"How do you think I'm going to tend to her with my clothes ripped on the floor?" she flicked his head.
"Go get it," he replied, shutting his eyes.
She flicked him again, "Who ripped my clothes?"
"Me," he went closer to her.
"And who will tend to Jiyoon?"
"Me," he groaned and sat up.
"APPAAAAAA!!! WAKE UPPPPP!!!! I AM HUNGRYYYYY!!!!!!" Jiyoon complained. "PALLIIIIIIIIIII!!!!"
So that's why she's like this. Jungkook turned to see Chaeyoung back to sleep. I don't see a difference between their personalities.
"Good morning, sunshine!" Jungkook greeted.
"Pancakes, appa! With fruits on top!! Palli! Palli!!!! Baegopa!!!!!!" Jiyoon complained.
Jungkook opened his arms, "Hug from a--aghhhh."
He felt Chaeyoung's pinch and remembered that he and Chaeyoung were not in their night clothes.
"I mean, go brush your teeth and change your clothes, then we'll cook breakfast, arasso?"
"Arasso!"
Jiyoon ran out, excited for breakfast.
As Jiyoon got out of sight from Jungkook and Chaeyoung, he started to get out of the bed and wore his underwear and boxers. He also picked up the clothes that were on the floor, putting them in the basket for laundry.
Chaeyoung sat up from the bed, covering her chest with the blanket and searching for a shirt so she can walk to the bathroom without exposing her skin. But then Jungkook placed a white shirt on top of the bed and held on to the side of his head.
"Hangover?" she asked.
"Yeah, it'll reside in a few," he answered.
"You can't drive to the airport like that, ask Mr. Choi to do it."
"I can manage."
"Jungkook, remember what happened last time you drove drunk?"
Jungkook paused and looked at her, remembering the scene, "Ah, right. I'll call him. But first..."
He walked to Chaeyoung and gave her his morning kiss, and pushing her back down to the bed.
"Good morning, my love."
Her hands were wrapped around his neck and she smiled, "Good morning to you too."
"Okay, so, you fix up for the airport. I'll go cook Jiyoon's breakfast, then I'll change and Jiyoon will change too. We'll drop you off to the airport and both of us will go to mom and dad's and we'll eat lunch with Dongie-hyung. Sounds like a plan?" he asked, putting on his boxers and arranging the pillows.
"Glad you're not taking her to shopping today," Chaeyoung laughed. "But it does sound like a plan. Anywhere else your taking her?"
"N Seoul Tower, maybe? Or like walk around? Take a boat to Jeju? I don't know, unplanned things are always the best," he answered and closed the cabinet's door. "What time will you get to Australia?"
Chaeyoung tied her hair in front of the mirror, "It's a 10 to 15 hour flight. And I'm stopping by Sydney then ride the local airline to Melbourne, that's about an hour or 2."
"Why didn't you get the direct flight to Melbourne? That's way easier."
"Because if I did get that flight, then I will be standing for the next 15 hours inside the aircraft."
"What do you mean? Where's your flight information sheet?" Jungkook went near her.
He grabbed the plastic envelop that was on top of her dresser. He got all of papers at once and looked for Chaeyoung's flight information sheet.
Jungkook scanned and read the information sheet, he was shocked as to what he saw. Her flights were all in Class B economy, one of the cheapest seats for an airline travel.
Obviously, he wasn't used to seeing such kind of information sheet. All of his were managed by Rachel, and he's rich, so he doesn't usually sit in the economy class.
He looked at her, "You didn't tell me that your seat class is in the economy. I could've gotten you a better seat at front."
"Because if I tell you, you're gonna put me in business or first class, and then waste money on me again. I feel spoiled around you, like big time spoiled. This is my, what, first or second time booking a flight all by myself," she replied.
"Still. It's better that you'd be seated comfortably and get to Melbourne in one go rather than having to change airlines and planes in one day and sitting in an uncomfortable seat," he sat down on the chair in front of the dresser.
Chaeyoung sighed, "Don't change it anymore, please? This will be the one time I'm gonna sit there and maybe the last. Besides, it's just one travel."
"Fine," Jungkook gave up. "But the next, I'm gonna book the flight for you."
Chaeyoung went closer to him and hugged him. And he wrapped his arms around her small waist, and loving the way that she's wearing his shirt.
It's just the start for both of them. They can date while they're engaged and continue raising Jiyoon.
Time was short on them.
But that doesn't matter. Just think about the present, that's probably better.
"APPA! THE PANCAKES?!" both of them heard from their room.
Jungkook stood up from the chair and walked quickly to the kitchen, leaving Chaeyoung laughing at him.
After taking her bath and finishing up her packing, Chaeyoung walked to the breakfast table and was surprised to what she saw.
Jiyoon already dressed.
That was completely surprising. Why? Because Chaeyoung always had to wake up early and pick clothes for Jiyoon to wear, had to bathe Jiyoon, place lotion and comb Jiyoon.
Today, Jiyoon was dressed. Her hair was perfectly combed, there's lotion on her skin, the clothes she's wearing is not bad.
"To be fair, I combed her hair," Jungkook said and took a bite of his bread.
"Yeah, but who chooses a thin piece of clothing for a winter day?" Chaeyoung asked and kissed Jiyoon.
Jungkook frowned, "Did I say that I chose her clothes? If it makes feel better, sunshine, here."
He grabbed something from the counter and gave it to Jiyoon. She opened the plastic bag, only to find a nice black coat that's fit for her size.
"Don't get the syrup all over the coat," Jungkook said.
Jiyoon wore the coat and liked the feeling of being fashionable.
"Woah, how'd you get this, appa?" Jiyoon smiled.
"I'm your appa, I find ways," Jungkook joked. "Alright, take that off, put it on top of the couch and go tooth brush."
Jiyoon followed quietly. Both of her parents were shocked that she wasn't bright and happy today, after all her wake up calls in their room.
Chaeyoung turned to Jungkook as she ate her breakfast, "What happened to her? She doesn't sound happy at all."
"Well, maybe it's because her mommy is leaving for Australia without her when she promised to bring her there. Or maybe because she's full from breakfast? But I think it's the mommy case, don't you think?" he answered.
"That's what this is all about? Not bringing her with me to Melbourne?" she frowned.
"Don't worry about that, we'll take her there once she's old enough to remember the places she's been to."
"Yeah, that sounds better. Gosh, this makes me a little bit guilty," Chaeyoung placed down her utensils. "Think it got my appetite away."
"Well, it's either you eat that or be contented with the economy class food."
Chaeyoung slapped his arm, "Can you also stop with the 'economy class'?"
She mimicked him when she said 'economy class'. And to that, Jungkook smiled and rubbed his hand against her back.
"Alright, alright. I'll stop."
"Thank you."
"But remember, economy cla--"
"JEON JUNGKOOK!"
He laughed at her and opened his arms.
"Hug first, babe?" he pleaded.
She hugged him and stomped her way through the kitchen sink, carrying 2 plates and started to wash them.
Maybe for Chaeyoung, she found it annoying. But for Jungkook, he was clearly enjoying his mornings.
Ever since Chaeyoung and Jiyoon started to stay with him, his mornings were not dull and monotone. He used to live everyday alone, waking up and only thinking about work. Or going out with his hyungs and other friends.
There was never a day, back then, he'd wake up with different moods. It was always a monotonous mood. Where everything felt black, white or grey. Back then, Jungkook would only show happiness once he's drunk, with another girl or if his hyungs make him smile.
Now there are so many things to smile about.
He's changed his goal in work, not just achieving the number 1 spot but also connecting his employees with one another.
And all of that was because of 2 people that suddenly entered in his life.
Just like a sudden character in a movie, that enters in the later scene rather than the first part.
If life were really a movie, having Jiyoon and Chaeyoung enter his life was truly the best part.
"Ah, it's been so long since I've felt this happiness," he said to himself in the mirror. "Would it last long enough, though?"
