Chapter 49

Jeon Il-Do hurriedly went down his car and asked his driver to wait for him. His father messaged him last night that he wants to meet Il-Do in the Jeon Mansion.
As he enters the house, the maids and workers bowed their heads then continued doing their jobs. His mother was seated on dining chair, seriously drinking her cup of coffee.
No one talks to her, except when his parents would argue.
"Sir Il-Do," their butler called. "Your father's in the garden."
Il-Do nodded and walked to entrance of the garden. They had a small white house, with a white round table and chairs. The small house didn't have a roof, and birds would go on top of it.
Seunghan would stay there to get some Vitamin D in the morning. That's if, he is allowed to do so. There were moments where he wasn't allowed to do anything at all.
Mr. Jeon drank his morning tea and looked at the rare clear sky of Seoul.
"Appa," Il-Do said and sat down on one of the chairs.
"Oh, Il-Do, you're here early," Mr. Jeon said, worried.
Il-Do looked at his father, "I know, you're worried about Jungkook."
His father nodded, "I'm just used to him being such a baby. He could've come home and said a few things, not just leave so sudden."
"Appa, you know Jungkook. He doesn't want to feel that his problems are your problems. He'll come back, don't worry."
Mr. Jeon had hopes for him to come back. And Jungkook not being around for 1 week made it feel like his son virtually died.
And how can Jungkook's older brother tell their father? When Jungkook himself asked Il-Do to keep it a secret for a while.
"The real reason I called you out today was because of Cole," Mr. Jeon stated. "He's asked to meet us here in the mansion."
Il-Do took a sip of tea, "I wonder what news he has for us. Maybe about Jungkook, I hope."
"Sir Jeon, Sir Il-Do, Mr. Cole Sparman has arrived," their butler interrupted their talk.
Both of them turned and saw Cole.
It was rare to see Cole talk to one of the Jeons except for Jungkook. All of them have personal agents, and Cole is Jungkook's personal agent. But because things were getting out of hand, Cole felt like he needed to tell the Jeons.
How the secrets were about to unveil in front of his eyes.
That wasn't part of his job description.
Il-Do stood up and gave Cole a hand shake, then Cole bowed to Mr. Jeon.
"Cole, long time no see," Il-Do started. "Take a seat, take a seat."
He motioned to a chair and Cole sat down.
There was an envelope in his hand. That envelope is filled with documents, since it looked so big. And it worried Mr. Jeon.
Has Jungkook found out my sugar went higher? Mr. Jeon asked.
It is a normal thing for old people, but Jungkook would tell his father to go get some exercise. As Jungkook himself dedicates his life to the gym while his father spent his youth eating lollipops and chocolate.
Cole cleared his throat, "I'm sorry to have called you out too early."
"Ani, it's important when the agent calls," Il-Do tells him. "But what do you wish to tell us?"
Cole placed the fat envelope on the glass table.
"What's that?" Mr. Jeon asked, still worried if Jungkook found out about his sugar levels.
"5-6 months ago, Sir Jeon Jungkook has asked me to go on an investigation. Usually, trained and experienced agents spend 2-3 weeks but this took me longer. There was going from this country to the other, and it was hard to track the person's background down," Cole storied. "Sir Jungkook has asked me to look into Park Chaeyoung and Park Jiyoon."
Il-Do leaned back on his chair, "My God, that kid."
"While I was on this case, it led me to something unexpected. I came back to Korea after piling the information about the 2, and--" Cole stopped.
He hesitated.
Should he really be the one's telling them that? Or it should be Jungkook? Or Chaeyoung? He made himself gather the courage to tell them this because the situation of the 2 would take another week to get resolved.
And because Jiyoon is a Jeon heiress.
No ones life is normal when you're an heir to a big business. You have to study in an expensive school, where people are in the same status as you are.
Cole didn't want Jiyoon to feel burdened once the time has come for her to get an arranged marriage proposal. Or run their family business.
Being part of the family who owns more than 10% of shares in almost every company in Korea, is not normal.
"And?" Mr. Jeon asked. "Get on with it."
"I asked Rachel, Sir Jungkook's secretary, to pick up some saliva for a DNA test," Cole stated more seriously.
Il-Do straightened up and started to glare at the agent.
He rested his chin on his hand, "What are you talking about?"
"There were 2 DNA testing, one in Korea and the other in Japan," Cole opened the envelope and gave out 2 folders. "Here are the results."
"I don't want to see it, tell what the hell is happening," Il-Do sounded more impatient.
Cole opened the second folder, "The first DNA testing, I doubted the result. So I ran off to Sapporo, Japan. My friend is a doctor there, and I asked him to test the DNA again. When I got the results, it still tested that they're both related."
Mr. Jeon slams his fist on the table, "Then you're saying that Jeon Jungkook had an heiress since he was 22 years old?! And that there is a child out there who never knew about her heritage?! About how she should grow up to be?! Who she should grow up to be?! Did Jungkook even have plans to tell us this?!"
"Appa, your blood pressure. Stay calm," Il-Do told his father.
"Jungkook had no idea of this," Cole defended. "If he did, he would have recognized Ms. Park easily."
Il-Do shook his head slowly, "I'm not getting any of this, Cole. Explain it clearer."
Cole nodded and got out a clear book. He opened to a page and showed the 2 men the pictures.
"This man here, is Sir Jungkoook, the woman is Ms. Park. In my first of month in the case, I found out that Ms. Park had been kicked out of a certain bar. I cracked the history of the camera system, and found this recording. The bar is under a motel, and I presumed this is how she received Jiyoon," Cole stated then pointed at a picture. "But if you recognize Jungkook's head structure, he has a coconut shaped head. Then the recording voices sounds exactly like Jungkook."
"You're saying those 2 had met before? And he doesn't know? Also her?" Il-Do questioned.
"We'll get to that, sir," Cole answered. "Then here's a recording I have from Ms. Park."
He took out his phone and let the 2 men listen to the recording.
It was when Chaeyoung asked her friend who works in the government to give her a fake birth certificate.
After listening to the recording, Il-Do and Mr. Jeon looked at Cole in confusion.
"She has a friend during her university years who now works in the government. This was taken after 2-4 weeks with her encounter with Jungkook. And that's enough time to figure out that you're pregnant. Now this recording, she begged for her friend to not tell anyone about Jiyoon's true name," Cole continued.
Mr. Jeon massaged his temple, "We could sue her friend, that is disobeying the laws."
"We can clear it out with an attorney, appa, let's not take it to that level," Il-Do begged his father. "Continue, Cole."
Cole took out 2 papers from the envelope, "The one written with 'Park' is the fake certificate. Ms. Park registered Jiyoon as 'Jeon Ji Yoon', not 'Park Ji Yoon'. It is already enough proof that Ms. Park knew Jungkook prior to their meeting that Mrs. Jeon's operation."
"So, she knew about it, didn't tell anyone about it, and now, what are her next schemes?" Il-Do questioned.
"Ms. Park is a daughter of one of the richest woman in Melbourne, Australia. Her mother owns an average of 8-10% of shares in 23 companies in Australia. Making Jiyoon legible for the position in the family."
Il-Do shook his head, "No. I don't care if Ms. Park is from a rich family, as long as Jungkook is happy, I'm good. But what I care is that, that young woman? She knew about it, all this time. She raised a Jeon outside of this family's circle. She knew all along, she had friends close to Jungkook, she had friends who are born heirs and heiresses to companies under the Jeon Foundation's name."
All Cole could do was nod along.
It was right.
Chaeyoung knew about it, and yet zipped her mouth. She chose to suffer financially with Jiyoon, when all along, Jiyoon's father can provide his daughter almost everything.
"We don't know her perspective, Sir Il-Do. She was only 22 years old, she probably did not know what to do. Her parents must've disgusted her," Cole told them. "And Jungkook is just so close with the child, it was like they knew each other since her birth."
"He's right, Il-Do," Mr. Jeon adjusted his wheelchair. "We don't know the girl's perspective. She's decent, she's smart, she's good, she's kind, she's poise, she's prim, she's proper, she's graceful."
"I agree, appa. But that does not make things change--"
Mr. Jeon motioned his hand to tell Il-Do to stop talking, "The kid is 5 years old. We will not bring this to court. Jiyoon-ssi has enough time to understand and learn the Foundation's history. Jungkook doesn't know anything about this, so let's keep our mouths shut and open it once he has learned about this news."
Il-Do nodded and sat properly on his chair.
"Cole, send someone to get Ms. Park. Il-Do, clear your schedule after lunch. Around 1:30 in Seokjin's restaurant in in Seocho-gu," Mr. Jeon suggested. "We're solving this calmly, the media will not know that a Jeon heiress was born outside of the family circle."
Cole stood up from his chair and bowed, "I will do your request, sir."
As Cole and Mr. Jeon left the area, Il-Do sat there and continued to look at the blue sky.
He recalled the day when Chaeyoung was outside of the Jeon Foundation's building and he was walking out for lunch with Jungkook.
That time, 5 years ago, Jungkook was in preparation before their father would leave for the States. The operation for the transplant kept on getting delayed, and Jungkook was much more well-prepared.
Il-Do now figured out why Chaeyoung was there that time. The reason why he somehow recognized Chaeyoung when his mother was operated. She was supposed to tell him that she got pregnant.
As Il-Do recalled it, he only thought it was one of Jungkook's girlfriend wannabes. Then here is, 5 years later, realizing what he did was wrong.
He should've asked Chaeyoung, that time, why she needed to enter the Foundation's building. It could've changed the mess that's happening now.
"It would've been different," he sighed.

shazam.
let's all wish that Il-Do could've saved the day, 5 years ago.
tomorrow's the next update!
see ya!!
