“And that over there are the cabins.” Sam pointed out as they passed several rows of houses. “Each people have two roommates depending on the size of the house of course.” He glanced at Becky to see if she was still keeping her head. Well, he couldn’t imagine coming back to earth to see it in shambles.

Becky nodded as she stared out the window of the jeep. After the brothers caught her up on what had happened, Sam decided to give her a tour of the base. So far, they’ve visited to supply and weapons storages as well as the housings. It wasn’t as small as she thought it was but now that she was going around, it wasn’t that big either.

Many people didn’t even seem to give care to her but some of them gave her the dirtiest looks. It wasn’t like she was infected or was it something else? Her time in Hell and Purgatory hasn’t increased her people skills. Though back then she didn’t give a care in the world but now she found it kind of unnerving.

Too deep in thought, Becky didn’t realize that Sam had stopped the car. “Becky?” Sam had already gotten out of the car and was waiting for her to follow.

“Huh? What?”

“You gonna stay in the car?” Opening the passenger seat door, Sam waited for her to step out. He noticed the looks some of the people gave them as they drove past and he knew it bothered her. It couldn’t really be helped, recently supplies have been running low so they weren’t in any state to take in more survivors. Just last week they had taken in a family that heard their broadcast and asked for refuge here.

The brothers didn’t have the heart to turn them away despite the low supplies, especially not with the baby they had with them. Castiel returned from a scavenging trip and was surprised to find a baby in one of the cabins. He had burst out from the house carrying it and yelling around the base looking for it’s mother.

Sam chuckled at the memory and snapped back into present time when Becky slammed the door shut. “What is this place?” They were in front of a log cabin a bit secluded from the main streets.

“This is where we keep our information. Not everyone in here knows about everything, as far as they think, it’s an apocalypse.” Sam gestured Becky inside and closed the door.

The cabin didn’t look like much, a large table at the center and a bulletboard on the wall. Almost looked like Sherlock’s web that led him to the cereal killer… no serial killer dude that Becky couldn’t remember the name of. Behind all the pictures and sticky notes, it looked like a map of America.

“What is all this?” Becky traced a string from one location to the other.

“Like I said, this is where we gather all the information about supernatural beings. Ever since… this happened, they been disappearing.”

“They? You mean monsters?”

Sam nodded pulling up a chair, “At first we didn’t think much of it…”

“Hey Dean! Come look at this!” Sam shouted not looking up from his computer screen. It’s been three weeks since the world went to shit. Now, they were settled in an old military base with enough supplies to last them a while.

Walking in groggily, Dean held up an empty mug. “Where’s the coffee?”

“That’s not important, look.” Sam turned his computer so his brother could look at the screen.

“Not important? How dare you?” Dean huffed and set his mug down. “What is it?”

“Well, I been searching for any abnormal anomalies, and get this, a town several miles out was hit.”

“The world’s gone to shit, do you wanna elaborate on that? With what?”

“It wasn’t the Crots. I think it was vampires and werewolves.”

Dean sat in a chair and swung his legs onto the table, “I’m sorry what? I don’t think I heard you properly.”

Sam sighed, wondering how he was related with Dean for the millionth time of his life. “I been tracking down monsters ever since the Croatoan virus hit, they been disappearing.”

“So? Isn’t that a good thing for us? We already have the virus to worry about, the less monsters the better.” Dean wondered why his brother was worrying so much about the monsters they used to hunt. They didn’t hunt much now, guess that’s what happens when the world goes to waste. It was more about survival rather than their usual business. Of course at times, they would still save people but it wasn’t easy nowadays. You couldn’t tell the difference between who was infected and who wasn’t.

Letting out another long sigh, Sam pushed his brother’s legs off the table. “No Dean, it isn’t. Because we don’t know what’s causing it. For all we know, it could be Jean.”

Dean twitched at the mention of her name and clenched his fists, “Alright. I’ll take Cas and go check it out.”

“I’ll go with you.”

“Oh no. You’re staying here. We can’t all leave, what about the others?” Besides, Dean didn’t want to risk Sam going out there. For all they knew, Lucifer could still be after him. “I’ll take John as well. Might as well make it a supply run.”

“Fine.” Sam knew what his brother was thinking. He didn’t like it, why couldn’t Dean see that it was safer for him to be outside? Afterall, he was the only one who couldn’t get infected.

Dean nodded and grabbed his bag full of equipment. “I’ won’t be gone long Sammy.” Then, he left to go find John and Castiel.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“No no no you’re form is all wrong!” John exclaimed grabbing the handgun from the ex-angel and showing him the proper posture. “With the way you’re holding it, you won’t be able to hit anything.”
Since Castiel lost his powers, he figured he needed to learn how to handle human weapons. Usually it was Sam or Dean helping him out, but John volunteered to teach the ex-angel. Castiel ran his fingers through his hair obviously frustrated by John’s constant nagging.
If it wasn’t for Dean arriving, Castiel might have exploded on the veteran. “Dean.” Castiel sighed in relief when the jeep pulled up.
“Hey Cas, John. We’re leaving right now.”
Castiel tilted his head, “Another supply run?”
“Sort of. I’ll tell you on the way. Come on.” Dean waited for them to get in the car.
John and Castiel glanced at each other before grabbing their equipments and throwing it into the trunk. They climbed on board. “So where are we headed?” Asked John.
“It’s an hour away. Sam found something unnatural about the town.” Dean explained as the car pulled out of the gates. The gates closed behind them, as they left, Dean caught a glimpse of his Impala. He wasn’t able to drive her anymore since the sound attracted the Crots. Now there she was, rusting away just outside the base.
Trying to get Dean’s attention, Castiel waved his hands in front of Dean’s face. “Dean!”
“W-what?”
Rolling his eyes, Castiel took a deep breath. He felt the emotion that he’s been feeling more often ever since he turned human, Sam called it annoyance. “The town? What is wrong with it?” Castiel found that he had little patience since he became human. Sometimes, Castiel wondered how Sam and Dean lived with these emotions.
“There was a massive werewolf and vampire attack.” Dean kept his eyes on the road watching for any Crots, “Or you might say, a werepire combo attack.” He said smugly, looking so proud of himself.
“I thought we promised that you wouldn’t name anything… like ever.” John said from the backseat.
Dean’s smile crumbled, “Oh shut up.” He said grudgingly. It was a great name. What else would you call a werewolf/vampire attack?
The rest of the ride was quiet, occasionally one or two Crots chased the car but John put them down with his gun. Soon they arrived at the town, like most of the ones it was quiet and abandoned. It looked pretty much normal except for the bodies that were littered on the streets.
“Are those…” John began to ask as he stepped out of the car.
Dean turned the engine off and grabbed his shotgun, “Yeah.”
There was about a hundred bodies on the street, some torn to pieces, others pale. Castiel grabbed a stick and opened one of the body’s mouth, “They’re vampires.”
“These are werewolves.” Dean toed one of the bodies with a disgusted look on his face.
“What happened here?” John had an equally disgusted face, he wrapped a handkerchief around his mouth and nose trying to block out some of the smell.
“Good question.”
They moved forward slowly, moving past the bodies carefully in case one was still alive. “Check the stores. See if there’s anything left.” Dean ordered as he walked into a store.
John and Castiel nodded, each taking an empty bag and scouted the area. “Over here!” Shouted John from inside a pharmacy. It was stocked up pretty well. “Looks like they didn’t have time to raid it.”
“Or perhaps the bodies kept others away.”  Castiel suggested, grabbing a handful of medication and stuffing them in the bag.
“Bingo!” Dean smirked when the store was equally stocked. He grabbed the canned goods and stuff that would last long first. Then he grabbed some treats that would keep them encouraged. A rustle near the door made Dean freeze, if it was Castiel or John, they would have said something before coming inside.
Dean picked his shotgun up and sneaked around the aisle. He felt an ominous feeling and whipped around pointing the gun at the person behind him. His mouth fell open when he saw who it was.
“And it was…” Sam was interrupted by a loud snore.  He looked at Becky with an annoyed look, Becky had her arms across her chest and her legs on the table sleeping.
Letting out a sigh, Sam grabbed one of the thick books and dropped it on the floor. Becky woke up with a start. “Huh what?!” She almost fell off the chair and reached for her weapons that weren’t there.
Sam couldn’t contain his smirk, “Sorry did I wake you?”
“Oh no… um I wasn’t sleeping.” Becky coughed into her hand making Sam laugh harder. She could feel the heat radiating off her face. All she wanted to do was crawl into a hole, Becky couldn’t help that she fell asleep. Even in school she hated long lectures, this was no exception.
The door to the cabin flew open and Dean walked in. “Hey.”
“Hey Dean.”
Someone else walked in behind Dean and smiled widely, “Sup bitches.”
