Dipper's POV

We had to go through the forest to get to the restaurant. I brought my journal just incase anything tried to attack us.

Mabel skipped ahead of me as usual. "He is so dreamy with his bright green eyes and flowing blonde hair, he's beautiful~!!! Wait, do I look ok?!? Should I have brought my rainbow sweater instead?!?"

I let out a sigh. "Mabel, you're gonna be fine."

But she continued to ramble. "Maybe I should've brought my other headband!!! It combines with his eyes!!!"

I groaned. "Mabel, seriously, stop."

We hear a roar followed by a scream coming from deep in the forest. Mabel and I exchanged scared glances before she started running towards the source of the sound, me following closely behind.

As we ran deeper into the woods the roars and screams grew louder and we eventually made to what were making those sounds.

There was a huge beast creature roaring angrily as he held a fist in the air. Inside its fist was a girl screaming in terror. I immediately got my journal and began to search through it. Ford had written most of the things from his old journals in my new ones so I had all the information I needed.

Mabel turned to me. "Dipper, we need to help her!!!"

"I-I know, just give me a minute!!!" I took out my journal. The old ones had been destroyed during Weirdmageddon, but with Ford's help, we managed to make new ones.

"I don't think that thing will wait a minute!!!" Mabel yelled.

The monster roared as he waved the girl around harshly, making her yell in fear even more.

Mabel shot me a glance of fear and anger. "Dipper!!!!!"

Finally in the right page, I spoke. "I got it! That's an ogre, it leaves in the darkest part of the woods and only comes out to hunt for food!"

"So how to we defeat it?!?" she asked.

I speed read throughout the page, my eyes widening as I find a solution. "Sunlight, they don't like sunlight!!!" i look up to see the trees covering the sky. "But how will we get it to the sunlight?!?"

Mabel smirked as she looked up. "Leave that to Mabel!!! I need you to distract it!!!"

My eyes widened. "Wait, what?!?!?"

"Do it!!!" She yelled before she started to climb one of the trees. I gulped as I places my journal back into my jacket. "H-HEY, OVER HERE!!!"

Both the monster and the girl looked my way. The monster roared and I began to question all of my life decisions that got me into this mess.

I groaned. "Yeah, ok, this is where my life ends." The monster started running at me and I started running away. "MABEL, HURRY!!!"

I ended up tripping on a loose tree root. I groaned and looked back at the monster which was really close now.

I covered my face and waited for the worst. But to my surprise, I only felt the warmth of the sun followed by the monster's yells.

I looked up to see that some leaves had been cut, letting the sunbeams reach the ground. The monsters yelled once more before letting the girl fall from its hand and running away.

I let out a sigh as Mabel jumped down. "Yeah, the Pines twins do it again!!!" She yelled in joy.

I couldn't help but laugh. Then I looked at the girl who was still on the ground, her eyes widened as she breathed s bit heavily.

I walked over with a concern look and offered my hand. "Uh, hey, you ok?"

She looked at me a bit stunned before shaking her head rapidly and placing her hand in main. "Y-yeah, yeah, th-thank you...!"

I helped her stand up. "It's no problem. But if you don't mind me asking, why were you-?" I was pushed aside harshly.

"HI, I'M MABEL!!! THIS IS MY TWIN BROTHER DIPPER!!! WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!?"

The girl stared at her a bit startled before chuckling awkwardly. "Oh, uh, I'm-" Her eyed widened. "Very late!!! I'm so sorry, but I really have to go!!!" She picked up some bag and started to run deeper into the woods. "Thanks again for saving me!!!"

Mabel and I stayed quiet for a while. "Huh, that's a very strange name." I slightly punched her arm at her comment.

Well, this was certainly an experience.
