It was a short kiss, only lasting for a few seconds before we both pulled away. Our faces were all shades of red, but when our eyes opened and met once more, neither of us looked away.

Was it.. real..?

Maybe I was still unconscious, was I dreaming all this..? I really hope not..

"U-um.." My focus quickly went back to Dipper when he stuttered, noticing how he nervously bit his lower lip. "I... I really like you, (y/n)... And not just as a friend..."

"Well you did just kiss me, it'd be weird if I was just a friend.." I replied with a sheepish smile, getting a small chuckle from him. I then gently placed my hand over his, my smile never leaving.

"I really like you too, Dip.. I would've told you a little sooner, b-but I was afraid of what you'd think of me once you found out I wasn't human.."

"Your way more human than a lot of people I've met.."

"Is that meant to be a compliment..?"

"D-did it sound rude..? I was trying to be nice..!"

His flustered reaction brought a giggle out of me, making him blush even more. "Thank you, Dipper.."

A sheepish smile grew on his face, and he gently caressed the top of my hand with his thumb. "Then.. could we, y-you know.. try to be more than friends..?"

"You mean.. best friend..?"

"No, I-I mean more than that.."

"Mega best friends..?"

"N-now you're just messing with me..!" He puffed his red cheeks, pouting as I laughed.

I then gave him a smile. "A couple..?"

Cheeks growing darker, he rubbed the back of his neck with a smile. "Yeah.. a couple.."

"Of friends..?"

"(y/n)..!!"

"I'm sorry, you're just fun to mess with..!" I replied with a giggle before leaning over and placing a kiss on his cheek. "But yeah... I'd like us to be a couple... In a romantic way..."

He smiled once more at that, and I was just as happy about it. Dipper, along with his family, had been the first people to show me even a small source of kindness in a long time. My uncle was normally busy, and although I knew he cared for me and tried to protect me to the best of his abilities, he couldn't always be around.

Not to mention I never had any friends my age either.

So to have someone like Dipper around me, someone kind and sweet, smart and caring, who listened to me no matter what..?

It was a dream come true..

And now that he knew about me..

"Dipper..?"

"Yeah..?"

"I know we're both still pretty tired, but.. once we're both in a better state, I'd like to tell you about my life and family in full detail.. No secrets.."

"Are you sure you're okay with it..? You don't have to tell me.."

"I want to.." I replied with a smile. "You deserve to know after what happened.."

He stayed silent for a little while, but soon smiled back. "Well, as long as you're okay with it.."

Soon after, he stood up. "I'm a little thirsty though, you want anything..?"

"A glass of water would be nice.."

He nodded in reply, placing a soft kiss on my head before leaving the room, along with the redness spread across my face, and the smile of a little girl who had finally found her life long dream.

Now more than ever, I had to learn to use my powers without tiring myself so quickly..

For my new family's safely..

For Dipper's safety...

I did it!

I confessed to (y/n), and we kissed! A-and she likes me too!

It went to perfectly too, it only reminded me of why I liked her so much. And now we were officially a couple!

I was really happy..!

And yet...

I was also really worried, and nervous.. Not for me, but for her. I was worried her sister might come back to hurt her, or maybe her mother. Not only that, I was afraid that she might consider me to be more stress than she needs..

She agreed to be my girlfriend though, right..? Which means she genuinely likes me..!

But maybe she was just saying yes because she didn't want to hurt me or make things awkward..

If that were the case though, she wouldn't have kissed me back, or acted so happy afterwards..!

Okay, no more self-doubt, Dipper. You're a likable guy, she does have feelings for you!

... oh who am I kidding, I'm a disaster!!

I always stress about everything, I stutter on every word, I don't have any talents that stand out or seem important!

Heck, I couldn't even protect her when she was endanger..

So many thoughts zoomed by my head as I stared at the two glasses of water in my hands, the happiness I felt before quickly being invaded by the feeling of fear.

Trying my best to shake them away, I started making my way back to the room.

This was no time for self-doubt, (y/n) needs someone she can rely on, and I have to do my best to be that person..

For her safety...
