~~~~~~~~~Your POV~~~~~~~~~
"Just a little more....."
I could feel the heaviness of the energy around my fingertips, the tiny flame of (f/c) heat appearing in between my hands.
"C'mon, I can do this..!"
A smile grew on my face as the flame grew larger. I was going it!!
"(y/n), you out here?!" Mabel's voice pulled me out of my concentration, growing pale as the flame disappeared. She walked over to the side of the building, where I was practicing, with a wide smile. "There you are!!"
"Oh, heh, h-hi Mabel..!"
Her eyes suddenly widened, running over to me. "Wait, you're bleeding!!"
"Huh?"
She grabbed my arm, pulling me inside the shack. I hadn't even noticed the blood from my nose until we stood in front of the bathroom mirror.
It had been a week after the incident with Jenny. Dipper and I had grown closer as friends, and I think Mabel considers me one of her best friends now.
Not gonna lie, it was all a little overwhelming, I have never had anyone care so much for my wellbeing, so having all these people be so kind to me..? It was just really new..
I really like it though, it's nice..!
Mabel handed me a baby wipe, and I held my nose with it so I wouldn't bleed anymore. "What happened..?!"
"I probably just got too dehydrated, you now Oregon summers are strong, heh.."
"You should be more careful next time then! I don't want you fainting from the heat!"
"I will, don't worry.."
We both walked out just as Dipper was passing by, and his eyes instantly widened at the sight of me. "(y/n)?! What happened?!"
"Her nose was bleeding!" Mabel answered.
I tried to calm him down, giving him a dismissive gesture with my hand as I chuckled a bit awkwardly. "It's really nothing, I just had a little too much sun."
"But why were you outside for that long..?!"
My mind went blank.
I didn't think this far ahead!
"Uh- Well- I-I was um.." I bit my lip as they both stared at me, Mabel had concern in her eyes while Dipper's eyes narrowed in suspicion. "... I-I was just going out for a walk in town, I didn't think it would be that hot out today."
"A walk?"
"Yep! Just- just a simple walk."
Dipper crossed his arms, staring at me. I was afraid he'd find my lie soon, so I gave them the best smile I could give at the moment. "Anyways, I'm gonna go take a nap to get better. I'll see you guys later."
I quickly went upstairs, not waiting for an answer. I admit, I've never been good at lying, about anything!
Sitting on the edge of the extra bed they had added, I let out a heavy sigh. I didn't like lying to them, it felt wrong..
There was a small knock on the door, and I jumped a bit. "... come in..!"
Dipper walked inside, his features a bit more relaxed. "Hey.."
"Hey.."
He sat beside me, and I could see in his eyes he wanted to ask many questions.
Maybe..
Maybe I could actually be honest..?
"So.. I don't know why, but I feel like you're-"
"I've been lying to you." I blurted out, making him turn to me, his eyebrow raised. I bit my lip, staring down. "No, I wasn't going on a walk, and I didn't bleed because of the heat.."
"Then.. what happened..?"
"... I.. I'm-"
There was a loud explosion heard from outside, both of us tensing up and turn pale. He quickly ran out, and I followed behind, eventually running outside and seeing a huge gust of pink dust in front of the shack.
I felt Dipper's hand grab mine, pulling me behind him as my cheeks grew pink.
"I did say I'd be back, didn't I~?"
As the dust faded away, Jenny was seen standing in the middle, her eyes glowing pink with an aura around her. My eyes widened a little, but Dipper only tightened his grip on me.
"Dipper, we need to go back inside.."
"Hah, you think going in is gonna do anything?!" I saw Dipper's eyes widen when a pink flame lit up in her hands. "You're going down, you pathetic little human.."
"(y/n), what's going on..?!"
"I-!"
Before I could speak, Jenny raised her arm and threw the fireball at us. I pushed both Dipper and I out of the way, the fireball crashing into the wall.
As I stood up, I could feel the energy around my hands once more. Sure, I've never been strong enough for magic.
But I had to stop her, somehow.
Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!
