Since day one, Jenny has always made sure that I knew she was the better daughter. She always needed to rub the fact that she was a way better witch that I ever could be, that she could do magic without bleeding or fainting, that Mother actually liked her.

It was food for her, she couldn't live a day without making me feel worse than I already did. That's why when she left for her high class school, I was overjoyed to have some time for myself, to try and prove myself to Mother.

That didn't work..

There was a grin on her face, a confident one, the one she always had whenever she was about to make fun of me. And it didn't help that she had her little gaggle of girls behind her.

"I haven't seen you in so long! You're usually scrubbing the counters back home like a good Cinderella!"

She'd always call me back, I'd always be the housemaid around there, cleaning every nook and cranny, and if Mother found a single piece of dirt, I'd be the one punished.

"Oh, right, I forgot Mother finally got tired of you and left you in the woods to die." Her group laughed along with her, and although most of the things she said were true, I'd always have something to say back to her.

Some comeback, some insult that could at least push her away for a short moment.

This time though, I was still in pain from all that's happened..

She was right, Mother did leave me to die..

"Leave her alone!" I heard Dipper speak before standing beside me, glaring daggers at her. "She's already been through enough, she doesn't need your pointless insults!" 

I immediately placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to calm him down. "I-it's okay, Dip.. This is just my sister, Jenny.."

She didn't like him scolding her at all, her glare sharpening towards him with a scoff. "I didn't think you'd have enough money to hire a bodyguard."

"Dipper's my friend.. He saved me from dying in the woods.."

"A good sister would worry about their family, not bully them about almost dying!" He added, and I could basically feel the anger radiating from him.

Jenny only rolled her eyes. "Whatever." She then gave me a small pat in the head. "I just wanted to have a small chat with my baby sister."

Dipper was far from ending the conversation..

He deepened his glare. "Yeah, because treating others like shit is a great thing to do!"

"Who do you think you're talking to?!"

"I could be talking to the president of the United States, but even then, I'm not letting you hurt my friend!!"

"You better watch your tone with me.."

That change in voice.. I knew what it meant..

She wanted to fight, with every inch of power she had, probably just to show it off.

And she says I'm the reckless one, no witch is suppose to show themselves to humans!

Dipper never flinched, nor did he look away. If anything, he kept his glare sharp, ready for anything she might do.

I noticed Jenny's eyes had started to flicker between purple and pink, seeing the familiar pink glow gathering around her fingertips. Was she really willing to show her powers in front of so many people?!

"Jenny.." One of the girls in her group placed a hand on her shoulder, making her look back. "We're in public, we shouldn't do this.."

She thought for a moment, then scoffed at the brunette boy as she straightened her posture. "You got lucky this time, boy. But we'll meet again."

Shooting me one last glare, she and her group of friends walked away. I let out the air that I was holding in a heavy sigh, before Dipper looked down at me. "You okay..?"

I nodded. "Yeah, just a little startled.. Thanks for standing up for me, by the way.."

"Don't mention it, I couldn't just sit around and do nothing.. Besides, she reminded me way too much of Pacifica, someone had to put her in place.."

We both let out a small laugh at his statement, it was tree Jenny and Pacifica had some similar traits in personality.

His expression soon fell a bit, making me grow confused. He let out a small sigh, rubbing the back of his neck as he stared at the ground. "I uh.. I'm really sorry you've had to live with her for so long.."

"It's alright, you get used to it overtime.."

"Still, a girl like you shouldn't go through all this.."

I tilted my head. "A girl like me..?"

His cheeks became red, looking away. "I-I uh.. I-I just meant that someone as kind as you shouldn't live with someone like her.."

I couldn't help but let out a giggle, he was adorable when he got flustered.. 

"Well, hopefully I won't have to again.."

"I meant what I said, about staying with us for as much as you'd like.."

I gave him a warm smile. "I know you do, and I'm really grateful for it.."

He smiled back, his cheeks a little darker. His dark eyes stared into mine, and I felt my heart skip a bit. I really did like this boy, and..

I think it's possible he might like me too..
