Chapter 1
Jessica finally arrived in Athens, Greece after the long flight. A smile forms upon her face as she inhales the fresh exotic air. Nothing will stop her from enjoying this work free holiday.
No book writing , no murder solving...nothing, But long peaceful walks, and relaxing in the sun. Ah yes a well deserved holiday for Jessica Fletcher. This wouldn't usually be her ideal place for a holiday but he nephew Grady had planned it, said she'd enjoy it, Jessica would soon see wether her beloved nephew was right for a change or wrong...again. Jessica chuckles at the thought of her nephew, she did love him very much, raised him as her own but the boy was hopeless, his problem was he doesn't actually think before speaking or doing something, and sometimes that gets him into trouble, but he's a sweet kid, and if it wasn't for him she would never of had her books published.
After arriving at the hotel, she heads towards the main reception. Jessica places her little bag on the desk as she awaits for the receptionist.
A young girl, with blonde locks falling over her shoulders approached Jessica. Her brown eyes sparkle and upon her pink lips a friendly smile.
She was a fairly pretty young girl who wore a white frilly blouse and was roughly a foot taller than Jessica.
"Hello how may I help you today "she smiles showing her perfectly white straight teeth.
"Hello" Jessica smiles about to ask for her room when an all too familiar voice spoke over her.
"Ahh there you are my girl " Jessica didn't even need to turn around to know that the voice belonged to Michael Haggerty, the Irish rogue who she can't help but love.
So much for a peaceful holiday.
"My darling I have our suite ready" He smiles approaching Jessica, he slithers his arm around her waist, pulling her closer to his person. She was about to open her mouth in protest when he leaned in closer to her ear, she could smell his musky cologne and feel the heat of his warm breath on her neck.
"just go with it Jess." He whispers whilst moving even closer and placing a kiss upon her cheek, his cheeks lingered for a moment, before he pulled away.
"This way love." He said, whilst leading Jessica towards the elevator.
"Bring the lady's bags to our room" he raises his voice as both him and Jessica enter the elevator.
"What on earth are you doing here Michael,
actually I don't think I want to know and frankly I don't want to be apart of whatever it is you're doing." Jessica said as they both exit the elevator, Michael makes his way down the hallway fumbling in his pocket for the key, Jessica in tow.
"Now Jess, what ever gave you the idea I'm up to something" he smiles as they reach the door at the end of the hallway, he opens the door stepping aside, allowing Jessica to enter then he closes the door behind them.
"Because you're always getting me involved in your business which usually gets us in trouble"
Michael takes her jacket and bag, hanging them both on the coat rack near the door.
"Okay maybe I do have some business I need your help in, but I promise ya'Jess it's nothing big , just a wee thing" his Irish accent filled the room. Jessica couldn't help but smile slightly, she did find his accent some what attractive, though that was going off topic.
Truth be told she did feel a pang in her heart at the thought of only being of use to him in situations like this, someone he simply uses to get his job done, surly she was more than just the back up...right?
"Oh Michael really, is that all I'm good for, to help you out of trouble? " Jessica turns her back to him, her eyes roaming over the painting that hung above the marble fireplace. The painting was of two lovers, a man with his arms around a girl both looking into the others eyes. It was beautiful, however Jessica couldn't help but frown at it, some part of her, deep down even envied their intimacy, even if it was just a painting.
