Today is Ashton's third birthday, and lemme tell you, it's been a very quick three years. I honestly don't know where the time has gone.

Emily and Kim are both here to help me set up for my little man's party, and of course cook the necessary buffet. We're are doing a Jungle Safari theme, using the forest around our house as most of the decoration.

"Mama, Mama, Mama!" A squealing three year old boy comes running into the kitchen.

Attaching himself to my leg, he begins to giggle, making the three of us laugh.

"What is it Baby?" I ask crouching to his height.

"Uncle Jawed was gonna spway me with the sticky stwing!" He says giggling behind my legs as my brother runs around the corner.

"Hey, you can't hide behind your mom! It's part of your present!" He says with that mischievous grin I know too well.

"Nu-uh..." Ashton shakes his head quickly, his eyes never leaving the can of silly string. I have a genious thought and decide to share it with my son.

"How about.." I whisper to him while pulling another can off the counter. "You spray Uncle Jared before he can get you?" I say watching as his eyes light up and a giant grin crosses his little russet face.

He suddenly bursts around my legs, silly string in full activation, covering the lower half of a shocked Jared. He then runs, probably to get Paul, as Jared just laughs before following.

Ever since the drama with Renessmee has been over, our lives have been pleasant. Jake still comes around every so often, and sometimes he'll bring Nessie, which was interesting the first time around.

Sitting in in the living room of Sam and Emily's house, the majority of the pack either watching the game on tv, or watching the soon-to-be toddlers playing with their toys.

Em and and I are seated on the floor with our sons watching them play together, when I suddenly hear Jake's voice come through the door.

"Hello! Anybody home?" He shouts, a smile can be heard in his cheery voice.

"Jake!" I respond after looking towards Emily, and she nods, letting me know she'll watch Ash. I jump up and quickly make it to the door, tackling my long time friend into a massive hug.

"Miss me much Scar?" He says with a chuckle, hugging me back just as hard.

"You wish Black." I say with a smile pulling back to see his russet face turned into a grin.

"I've missed you Scarlett. How've you been? How's little Ash?"

"I'm good, but Ash..he's growing so quickly Jake. I don't wanna sound stereotypical, but the time has flown by. He's gotten so big already!"

"Well I can't wait to see him!"

He says with a smile, that suddenly drops a bit and he signals with his hand to follow me outside. With an eyebrow raised I follow him outside, and down the drive a bit to see a very pretty girl waiting—for him.

"Jake?"

"Just hear me out okay?" I simply nod and follow him, the girl sees us coming and smiles sweetly.

"Sorry for making you wait out here Ness."

"It's okay Jake. I understand." Her voice is light and kind. I have a feeling who this is. Now I understand Jake's caution and secrecy.

"Ness I'd like you to meet my adoptive sister, Scarlett. Scar, this is Renessmee—"

"But you can call me Nessie or Ness. Whichever." She says with a smile holding out her hand for a shake which I do, a bit hesitantly.

"Hi. Sorry if I seem apprehensive—"

"I completely understand. My family and I, we've caused you guys a great amount of strife and for that I want to apologize."

Not expecting such a profound apology from such a young looking girl, I have to remember she's not all human and acts differently.

"I appreciate that Sweetie, and I think the guys will accept the apology as well." I say looking towards Jake who looks nervous about bringing her to the house.

"It's been a couple years Jake. The guys don't hold grudges you know that. We'll just have to introduce her slowly."

"We?!"

"Do you really think I'd literally feed the both of you to the wolves? I'm not that terrible." I say with a smirk and once again I'm wrapped in a warm embrace.

"Thank you Scarlett."

With that, the three of us head back to the house. I hope this doesn't get too ugly.. We open the front door again, only this time Em is in the kitchen fixing something.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to leave our sons alone in there?" I say with a slight laugh, getting a couple "Heys!" from the living room.

"I hope so. I was too hungry I had to figure out something!" Em says with a laugh, making me smile.

"Sounds like you're turning into one of us." Jake says with a smile laugh, his hand connected tightly to Nessie's.

"Well then you'd have to fight me for food..." She says with a smile, turning around and it grows a bit brighter.

"Hi there, I'm Emily." She says with a smile holding her hand out.

"Hi. I'm Nessie, I've heard a lot about you and your fantastic cooking!" She says with a smirk as Jake blushes a bit.

​​​​​​​"That doesn't surprise me. All this boy ever talks about is food. Just like the rest of them. I'm making some sandwiches if you'd like one?" She offers with a smile, making Jake grin at the quick acceptance of his imprint, but this was the easy one...

"That sounds lovely, thank you." Ness sits at the counter while Jake and I turn to go and well, ease into it with the boys.

"Jake! What are you doing here man? It's been forever!"

Embry's the first to jump up and hug his old friend while I go and grab Ashton off the ground, Paul stealing a quick kiss.

"Jake's back?" Paul asks standing up with me.

"Yeah, he has someone he wants you guys to meet." I say with a big smile, Paul's face filling with confusion.

"She's in the kitchen with Em, but you guys need to be nice. Understood?"

I look from Paul to the other boys that have started listening in. They all slowly nod their heads the confusion still forefront in their minds.

"I mean it. You guys can't be jerks. This means a lot to Jake." I say before making my way out of the living room, and back into the kitchen.

I can feel Paul stiffen a bit beside me as we cross the threshold, maneuvering his body between myself and our son, and Ness. I also see Sam do the same with his son.

She must smell different to them and that's why he responded that way..

I see Jake deflate a bit at seeing this, and since I promised to help, I simply nudge my way around Paul–narrowly missing his grab at me, to which I give him a look, and stand next to Ness.

"Boys." I say giving them all the look I just gave Paul, and at least they have the decency to look a bit ashamed.

"This is Nessie, and Ness, well these are the boys." I say with a slight smile, and she smiles brightly despite their hostility.

"Hello. I've heard a lot of good things about each and every one of you. But the main reason I had Jake bring me here today," this surprises everyone in the room.

"Was to not only make all this easier for Jake, but to sincerely apologize. My family and I have caused a lot of unnecessary strife to the wolves, even creating some rifts among brothers, and I not only want to apologize for being the reason this all happened, but I hope that we can leave this in the past and maybe become friends."

She says with a small smile and I've never heard this house so quiet...even when Paul announced the imprint it was never this deafening. Much to Sam's better judgement, Emily is the first to come forward and hug Ness.

"Thank you sweetie." She says with a smile. "You and Jake are always welcomed here."

Emily than embraces her, and seeing this the boys defrost some more. Seeing that both Em and I are on her side of things seem to sway the boys.

They hesitantly begin introducing themselves, slowly warming up to her presence, and slowly but surely the house returns back to normal, one more added to our crazy family.

Jake said he and Nessie will be here for Ash's party, which makes me excited that he doesn't have to stay on their "side" any more.

The party goes off without a hitch! Laughter and love filling every corner of our house, the big family together again. After lunch Paul and I decide it's time for Ashton to open up his gifts.

I sit on the floor next to the pile of gifts, and as quick as light my son is plopped in my lap, literally bouncing with excitement.

I begin handing him presents which he readily tears into, getting more toys than he can count. Thankfully the girls in the group got him new clothes, since he's grown out of his old ones. And soon enough his big pile is only left with one more gift.

A secret one.

Before he can get up to start playing with all his new toys, a pull a gift from behind my back and show it to Ash.

"Hang on Little Man, you've missed one." I say with a smile as his eyes light up even brighter.

Everyone glances at me confused, but I ignore their stares and just focus on the gift my son holds.

Tearing through the paper, Ash pulls out a new blue t-shirt, quickly looking at it he goes to toss it aside before I whisper for him to turn it around and show Daddy.

He does so with an excited "Look Daddy!", and that quickly gets everyone's attention. It takes Paul about two seconds to tilt his head in confusion before looking to me with wide eyes.

Knowing that he's read the "World's Greatest Big Brother" on the t-shirt, I can't help but smile widely. He leans over from his spot on the floor kissing me deeply, his eyes shining as we break apart.

"Seriously?"

"Seriously."

​​​​​​​"Haha! This is amazing Lottie! When did you find out?"

"About a week ago."

I say, my grin growing the more I think about this new baby. Paul releases another laugh in excitement, before everyone begins to congratulate us, the excitement of the day increasing.

After cake is served and it's all cleaned up, it's time to put Ashton to bed. He's fallen asleep in Paul's arms, and so we bring him into his room and lay him down.

"Mama?" I hear a groggy little voice before we can walk out of his room.

"Yes Love?" I say crouching to his height.

"Why was Daddy and evewyone so excited about my shiwt?" He says looking between Paul and I, the smiles returning to our faces.

"They were excited because your shirt said, the worlds greatest big brother. You know what that means?" He sleepily shakes his head making me smile.

"It means, in a couple months you're going to have a new baby brother or sister." His eyes snap back open shining again.

"Weally?!"

"Mhmm." Paul and I both nod. He simply smiles again before falling into a deep sleep with a little smile on his face.

"This is so great Lottie! I can't tell you how excited I am." Paul says with a grin as we walk into our bedroom.

"I know, I'm excited too!"

"I love you, Scarlett. So much." He says kissing me, before bending down and kissing my nonexistent baby bump. "And I love you Little One."

"I love you too, Paul."

*yay! So this is the official last chapter, unless I add more flashbacks :) But! The sequel to this is called Be My Escape and it's an Embry story! The first chapter should be up in the next day–ish so keep an eye out!
