P8- secrets

Hee Rin went home with a faint smile still lingering on her face. She thought it was fun hanging around with Luhan's friends. She even considered offering them dinner sometime.
It was almost unbelievable when Hee Rin steps inside the house, finding Luhan sprawled on the couch while munching some chips. She thought it was cute and takes note that she's going to grocery soon to buy more chips since Luhan seems to love it.
"I'm home" She greeted, but got no response. Hee Rin sighed and decided to walk straight to her room than disturbing her husband. She drifted to sleep as soon as she lied on the bed, without even changing her uniform.

There's nothing special happened the next day. Though Hee Rin still encounters bullying as soon as she steps inside the school, she realized that it is much better to just get used to it than to cry.
She also found out that long before she transferred, Luhan and Ji Eun were the most popular couple in the school. Almost everyone think that everything falls apart as soon as Hee Rin entered the picture, as if she's the evil witch from Snow White's love story.
There's nothing she can do about the bullying or the insults that she's getting, although she wanted to stop it, she thinks that the only way of stopping it is to leave Luhan and that is not considered on her choices.

---

"Why are you so stubborn? I told you that he can hire a cook, my Dad doesn't mind finding professional one if it's for our own good" Luhan once said while they were eating breakfast. He was complaining nonstop about how awful Hee Rin cooks and that it might kill him sooner.
Hee Rin thought it was rude when you criticize people right on their face about what they're doing, especially if they put their heart on doing it.
She gnawed on her bottom lip and watch Luhan as he throw his plate in the trash while cursing under his breath. She tries to ignore it even if it hurts real bad that she wanted to cry her heart out.

"I'm going" she informed.
"Where are you going?" Luhan asked as he watch Hee Rin drapes her coat over her shoulder. She eyed him with furrowed brows as if he was asking for an obvious answer.
"Err... It's weekend? You know I have schedule every weekend" She explains and Luhan turned back his attention on the television as if not caring about what she have said.
Luhan figured that his wife was always missing when weekends. He doesn't where she's going, but he could care less. It would only make him happier when she isn't around so he thought it's a good thing she's always out.
Hee Rin would attempt to ask him to come with her before but he would obviously decline her offer.
--
Luhan plopped on the sofa couch when he gets home at 9 in the evening. He realizes that he always gets home before her when its weekend and he wonders where Hee Rin might be. He can admit that he felt a little worried about her getting home late. She is his responsibility after all. He thought he has the right to know where she's going so he would have an idea what she's always up to and if ever someone asked him where his wife's been going, at least he could give a right answer.
He was about to sleep when a knock on the door interrupted him. "Come in" he said.
"Luhan" Hee Rin calls as she steps inside his room. Luhan groaned and sat up on the bed as he squinted to get a better view of her.
"What?"
"Err.. I know this sounds suspicious, but can you lend me some money?" she asked. Her face looks like she's really hoping.
"What? Why?"
"Well..." She trailed off while looking around, as if trying to find a better excuse. She sighed after few seconds and ducked her head down. "Just... Please" she begged.
Luhan have never seen Hee Rin like this before, it's as if she's begging him to spare her life. He furrowed his brows and tried to read her expression but let out a sigh when he gets nothing.
"How much?"
"Err... 80,000 would be enough" She scratches her nose, trying not to look embarrassed as Luhan widened his eyes at her.
"What?!" Luhan almost choked. "What are you going to do with the money?" He managed to regain his composure.
He thought she was borrowing money for her shopping or something but maybe he was wrong. He wonders if she was involved in illegal business or she was addicted by gambling or something. Or maybe she just wants to buy those branded bags and jewelries whatsoever. He remembered hearing about how Hee Rin was a spoiled kid before and he cursed inwardly for letting his life get tangled by this brat.
"Are you buying drugs?" he asked unknowingly with high pitch tone. Hee Rin flinched and Luhan saw how her shoulders deflated from disappointment.
"Forget it. Pretend this never happened" she sighed and grudgingly walks out of the room with such a heavy heart. Luhan wonders if this is related to where she is going when weekends and he kind of feel so worried about her right now, but not as a husband, but as a responsible man who doesn't want to sacrifice his name when it comes to dealing with his wife.
He rubbed his temple frustratingly and throws himself back on the bed when he remembers something: Next week was the start of the semestral break and he and his friends decided to go out of town and have some fun together with Ji Eun.
He didn't tell Hee Rin about this vacation actually. He doesn't want her to come. He doesn't want to hear her cry when she force him to let her come. It's just a waste of time talking with her, Luhan thought.

----------------------------------------------

When Tuesday came, Luhan zipped his luggage and walk towards the living room as he dragged the luggage with him. Hee Rin stood up from the couch and eyed him from head to toe before her eyes landed on his luggage.
"Where are you going?" She asked. He didn't tell her yet. He just doesn't want to waste his time arguing with her. Though he knows that she has the right to know since she's his wife, but he doesn't have the guts to tell her. Even if he despises her, he doesn't want to see her crying because he's leaving her here all alone.
"I'm going for a trip, a company trip" he lied, trying to make an eye contact with her, just to not feel guilty.
"Oh. Have a safe trip, don't stress yourself too much" she said while waving a goodbye and he can see sadness and loneliness in her eyes. She looked hopeless that he felt guiltiness eating him up. In the back of his mind, he considers her coming with them just because he doesn't want to leave a pitiful person like her.
