After what it seems like forever, I finally convinced my wife to wait for me until the meeting is done. It's too hard to handle my wife now, I swear. I don't know what has gotten on her but God! She's too demanding. "you come back here exactly 2pm! if not... you'll see what will happen!" she pointed a finger at me. Is she threatening me?! But then I nodded like a little puppy.
The meeting started.. We exchanged ideas and proposals about the monthly issues we've come up to. Junoh is beside me taking down some notes about important matter that I am discussing.
30 minutes have passed and as time goes on.. It's been an hour already. I didn't notice since we were all focused on the discussion about the plan we've been proposing.
I tap my fingers on my chin when Junoh whispered in my ear "sir, your wife is calling" he said. I turn to face him with a 'I'm trying to focus here' look, he nodded at me and continue taking down notes.
Until the clock ticks, it's 2:01 in the afternoon, I was sitting comfortably while listening to Mr. James' opinion about the proposals when someone knocks on the door. Mr. James inhaled deeply, as if controlling his anger, it's a meeting after all and it's not too good for someone to knock when it's in the middle of the discussion.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you sir, but there's a lady out there saying she need to talk to Mr. Luhan. It looks like an emergency sir" The woman said, probably Mr. James' secretary. I glanced at each and everyone surrounding the table and bowed before saying "excuse me for a minute" and headed out the room.
As soon as I step out the room, I already spotted Hee Rin, impatiently tapping her foot with her hands on her hips while glaring at me. I gulped heavily as I glanced at my wrist watch, it's 2:06. I'm DEAD! I drag my wife to the corner where no one can see us.
"Hee Rin-aah, what are you doing here?! you can't come here just like that and interrupt my meeting" I scold. She inhaled before glaring at me, she's mad. But she can't just go here and do whatever she wants. This is an important matter for Pete's sake!
"yah!! are you yelling at me?! I told you you should be back at 2!" She shouted right on my face. She's fumming. I hold her shoulders and look right in her eyes.
"okay, okay. I'm sorry. First, inhale and exhale.. Inhale.. Exhale" I instructed her. she's still shooting daggers at me through her eyes. It's kinda scary.
"now.. just go to the hotel first and I'll be there right away, I'll just fini--" I added but was cut off by my wife.
"no!!" She hissed. Throwing tantrums. Oh God, where did she get this attitude? I knew going overseas will do nothing good. tsk.
"just.. this once Hee Rin. I promise we'll go shopping later after this, okay?" I said as calmly as possible. I was about to turn to leave when Hee Rin speak.
"I'm warning you, one more step towards that room and you'll never see me again" She said through gritted teeth. I widened my eyes as I look at her. Seriously?!!!!! I sighed heavily as my shoulders drop, why is my wife so stubborn?!! oh why!!!!
"Hee Rin, this is an important mee--"
"fine!" she yelled and stomped her feet as she walked away. Not even turning back.
"yah Hee Rin!! yah!!!" I tried to call her but she never looks back. I pulled my hair out of frustration and kicked the wall. "aish!!"

I have no choice but to finish the meeting. This is really important. I can't just ignore this. But during the meeting, I can't even focus because of my wife. She's not serious about me not going to see her anymore right? oh no. Of Course not. tch. That's impossible.... or.. maybe? AIIISSSSHHHH!!
I run out of the building after telling Junoh that I'm heading first and that it's an emergency. I drove my car quickly heading towards Hee Rin's abode. But when I got there, she's nowhere to be found, but good thing her things were still there. Then I spotted a sticky note on the bedside table saying "I'm heading to the Eiffel Tower. Come if you want:P" I smiled. I knew she can't resist me.
I drove to the said place and how can I even find her with these sea of people?! I get out of my car and look around, hoping that I would miraculously spot my wife. But failed. I tried to call her but she wouldn't answer. I grew impatient as I walk everywhere. Where is that girl?!
"I hate you" I heard a voice from behind. And I knew that voice belongs to my one and only Hee Rin. I turn around to see her pouting at me with a lollipop on her right hand. I sighed in relief as I saw her. She blinked at me and I smiled.
"come here" I ordered with a smile plastered on my face. She obliged. When she's finally infront of me, I run my fingers through her hair as she look up to meet my eyes.
"I'm sorry about the meeting earlier, you see.. It's hard to negotiate with Mr. James" I explained as I continue to play with her hair. She finally smiled.
"so... am I forgiven?" I asked. She rolled her eyes cutely but nodded. I peck her lips softly before giving her a warm embrace.
"so.. let's go shopping" I beamed making Hee Rin smile widely that the corner of her lips can reach her ears.

And now.. I found myself dragging by my wife. We've been through 8 shops and my hands and feet were aching. I'm carrying countless of paper bags that has clothes, jewelries, shoes, etc. that my wife bought, I'm the one paying actually. Hee Rin would always brighten up whenever we go out of the shop and saw another, she never gets tired at all, while I'm dying here.
We enter to this jewelry shop. Hee Rin's eyes sparkled as soon as she saw the diamonds twinkling as if calling her, and of course my wife got tempted by the beauty of those jewelries.
"Yeobo! I want that one" she pointed at the bracelet full of diamonds. I groaned.
"But you just bought a bracelet at the first shop earlier" I said. She stomped her foot and crossed her arms, pouting at me.
"It's different, this one is much more stunning!" she convinced.
"but they're just the same, see?" I defended as I look at the bracelet she wants to buy.
"no they're not. look, this one has a little curve on it and the diamonds were matchless!" She chimed as she study the bracelet. I sighed in defeat and nodded at the saleslady. Hee Rin jumped in happiness.
"thank you! you're the best husband ever!" she beamed and pecked my cheek. When did I agree to go shopping with her again?? oh God. please remind me next time not to go near the mall again, especially when I'm with my wife.
"here you go sir" the saleslady handed me the paper bag after getting my credit card.
"thank you"
"your welcome. You made such a good couple ma'am sir" the saleslady smiled. oh yeah.. did I mention that my wife insisted that we should buy couple clothes and wear it? yeah..

5 hours have passed. I think we're done shopping since I think that we already visited every shops here. We are also done having our dinner with a romantic and fine cuisine.
We headed to my car and put all the paper bags inside. Hee Rin was standing outside while facing the car, grinning at me. I walk to her side.
"thanks Luhan.. Thank you for this day" She smiled. I know I am tired because of too much walking earlier, but all of the pain vanished as my wife gave me her dashing smile, taking away all my problems with just one simple yet dashing smile of hers.
"don't say thank you. It's my duty to make my wife happy and besides, we have lots of things to catch up with" I smiled. She reached for my colar and fix it and after that, she fumbles with the buttons of my polo.
"do I get some rewards then after making you happy?" I teased. she giggled.
"close your eyes." she ordered. I hesitated but she shot me a look, so I closed my eyes. Then I felt a cold wet thing touched my right cheek, Hee Rin kissed me. I opened my eyes but she was nowhere in sight. I look around calling her name but none. I run to the eiffel tower, in case my wife goes there. There were lots of couples roaming around.
Then my phone rang. I quickly look at the caller I.D and it is my wife.. of course I answered it quickly!

"yah! where are you! I've been looking all over the place for you!" I scolded. I heard her giggle.
"turn around" she said. I turn around. Hee Rin was at the other side end of the tower while I was on the other. She was smiling at me while waving her right hand while her left was holding her phone on her ear. I smiled back and walk towards her, still our phones glued on our ears.
When I reach her, we ended the phone call and gaze at each others eyes. No one talks, but it's not awkward, it's like the silence seems to connect us in a way words never could.
"I miss you" I muttered and caressed her cheek.
"i miss you more" she smiled. I lean closer to kiss her lips but was interrupted by a loud bang and whistle from above. Hee Rin jumped in shock, the people was startled but a smile slowly creeps in their lips as they look up the night sky. It was fireworks. There was a crackling sound as it burn out and leave a trail of bright sparks. It was wonderful. I turn to my side to find my wife smiling, amazed by the sight of different designs of fireworks as it painted the night sky.
I wrapped my arms around Hee Rin, embracing her from behind as we look up to gaze at the fainting color of the fireworks. Her hands holding my arms.

"it's beautiful isn't it?" Hee Rin spoke as her eyes continues to twinkle by the sight of different bright colors made by the fireworks.
"it is" I smiled as I hug her tight. She leaned back her head to resrt on my chest and closed her eyes.
"this is comfortable" She smiled. I looked at her and noticed that she's still holding her notebook with to-do-list on her right hand.
"oh. I think we completed your list already" I said. Hee Rin gasped and turn her notebook to the last page where the last things to do was listed. She extends her hand and I realized, she's taking pictures of us with the tower above us. We did cute poses. Then She reached through her pocket and get a pen and scratched the remaining uncrossed numbers before.

But before she could scratch the last list, I quickly snatch the pen and notebook.
"I should be the one to scratch this since I'm the one who wrote this one" I grinned. She rolled her eyes but nodded with a smile. I lean to peck her lips first. Then I sighed before smiling as I scratch the last number.
I look at the beautiful woman standing infront of me. I know that we never have a good start but we can make a beautiful ending. no, scratch that. We can make a beautiful forever. We might not have the best love story, but after 5, 10, or 50 years from now, when our hair is thinning, when the black and brown hair would be replaced by white and gray like ashes and we can no longer walk without a help, when our grandchildren sits on my lap and would ask me to tell a beautiful story, I would happily begin with 'Once upon a time, there's Hee Rin in my life'
I promise to make her happy and not allow any single tear escape from her eyes. I promise to kiss her goodnight before we sleep every night. I promise to make her coffee every morning and remind myself that when she said 2 sugars she actually meant three. I promise to hold her hands whenever sadness overtakes her. I promise to embrace her when she feels cold. I promise to understand her whenever her mood swings. I promise to kiss her when she feels like it's not a good day for her. I promise to grab a pillow and a blanket and settle on the couch whenever she's angry at me and want some space. Or no, scratch that. I promise not to sleep until we solve the conflict between us. I promise to give her my smile and will squeeze her hands whenever she need encouragement. To be more patient when she throws tantrums.To listen to her whenever she needs to talk. To talk when she ask me to. And lastly, I promise that I will love her forever.
30. Let's start a new beginning in this city of love.
