~Full of Suprises~ Part 2

After the break, the Festival was resumed with the stage all good to go later tonight.

The sun was starting to set now and the people were filling the Festival up even though it was dark.

However, there was a loud rumble of thunder heard in the sky and a lightning strike not far from where they were.

The wind was picking up and the rain was starting to pour harder.

"Hm...it seems like it's going to be a strong thunderstorm tonight." Kanata showed everyone the weather information on his phone.

"Aww! But the Festival was just getting good!" Yume pouts childishly as she stares up at the rain.

"That's right! I was just heading back stage to perform my beautiful and ability-to-make-people-cry monologue from the movie. Everyone was going to love it!" Ako brags complaining, while crossing her arms in a 'huff'.

Some of the group chuckles, while some roll their eyes at her comment. They all go over to tents to help cover them before the storm becomes worse.

Except Laura and Ako.

"Right. Seriously Ako? 'Make people cry monologue'?" Laura teases her cat-like friend, smirking at her.

"Hey! You can't say anything Laura, you haven't even watched the movie yet."

"Yeah? Well that's because it isn't out yet Ako!"

"...Well still, when it is out I bet you'll be crying!"

"Oh really? I bet not! And if I do cry, it'll be because of my hormones being a mess!"

"That's just an excuse Laura! Geez are you seriously going to be one of those mothers that use their pregnancy as an excuse to get out of things?"

"What?! No, of course not! I'm not going to let Nozomu take care of me like I'm useless or helpless Ako!"

"Really? Cause that seems like the path you're heading too if you keep using those kind of excuses!"

"Shut up Ako! I bet when you were pregnant you said the same excuses as me but worse!"

"Ha! So you do admit to using those kinds of excuses then!"

"No that was not what I was saying!"

"Hmm, I think so."

"No I wasn't! Stop putting words into my mouth Ako!"

"I am not! How dare you accuse me of something like—"

"Ako, Laura! Please stop arguing and help us cover the tents before the thunderstorm becomes worse." Koharu interrupts, shouting behind her sternly as Asahi holds the ladder she's standing on, so she can finish pulling the cover over her booth.

At hearing Koharu's voice over the wind and rain, they both cut their argument short and glare at each other. Their fists are tightly by their sides and their faces are close to each other from the shouting. They're both seething at this point.

"Come on kitty. I finished covering your tent and some others, so let's go inside before we all get struck by lightning or something." Kanata doesn't wait for an answer from his wife, but just takes her by the arm and starts dragging her to the big  building where everyone is at to get out of the storm. Along the way she protests trying to resist his tight grip on her.

That leaves Laura in the rain still, the wind whipping her hair around, she closes her eyes and begins to take several deep breaths to calm herself down.

"Laura. Laura!"

The voice of her husband shouts from behind her. He jogs up to her and wraps his arms around her waist pulling her into a hug from behind.

Laura smiles to herself and leans back against him. "Hmm?"

"Let's go inside with everyone now alright? I don't want you to catch a cold. It could be bad for the baby..." Nozomu whispers the last part, worriedly.

Laura giggles at him and removes herself from his arms and faces him. She kisses his cheek quickly before taking his hand in hers and pulling him to the building repling, "The baby's fine Nozomu."

"I guess if you say so..."

The rest of the group is waiting a few paces away from them, to make sure their friends find the shelter.

When they are all back together, they begin to walk quickly towards the building. Just as Subaru reaches for the door handle, Koharu suddenly speaks out, her voice laced in concern and worry.

"Wait... Asahi?"

"Yes Koharu? What's wrong?" Asahi squeezes his wife's hand, looking at her with a frown on his face.

"What about Sayu?! Where is she? What if she didn't get inside the building and she's outside still in that harsh thunderstorm?! I mean, I didn't see her go in and I haven't seen her since Yume, Ako, and I gave them to two of Laura's students to watch! Oh no, I'm such a horrible mother..."

She starts to ramble as they enter the building to find a place to sit, clearly worried for her 5 year old daughter.

Asahi smiles softly at Koharu after they all enter and sit down, he takes ahold of both of her hands. He looks into her eyes and makes sure she looks into his before he speaks.

"Koharu don't worry. I'm sure Laura's students got them safely in the building. I trust them." He assures her, while rubbing his thumbs over the back of her hands.

"That's right Koharu! There's no need to worry alright? Right Ako?" Yume assures her once more, knowing she'll eventually feel better when more people tell her.

The ombré haired girl elbows Ako in the side, making sure she agrees with her.

"Oh yes! Koharu nothing will happen to them I swear to you! If I was doubting, I wouldn't have let Hikaru go with those two teenagers. And I'm sure Yume and Subaru wouldn't have let Mitsukuni go with them either."

"Ako's right. I wouldn't let my son go somewhere I didn't like." Subaru adds to the two mothers statements. Kanata nods along with his friend, his arms crossed.

Koharu looks around at her friends and slowly nods, letting out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. "A-alright. I-if you say so."

Soon the group fell into a quiet chatter amongst themselves, talking about anything that comes to mind.

They were like that for a while, with Kanata checking the weather occasionally.

Until...

"Um excuse me? Laura-sensei?"

Laura turns her head to see two of her older students approaching her with looks of guilt on their faces.

The bubblegum haired girl's eyebrows furrow in confusion, as she stands up from her chair to walk over to her beloved students.

"What's wrong Manaka? Chisaki?"

The two teenagers glance at each other and then decide to stare at the floor.

"W-well... You see Laura-sensei—"
Chisaki starts, but her best friend interrupts.

"We lost your friends' children!"

The girl bursts out suddenly with tears starting to fall down her cheeks. "We are so sorry!"

"M-Manaka?!" Chisaki stares at her friend wide-eyed in disbelief. But then she chokes up and tears start to fall from her face too.

Both the girls bow and start to ramble, attempting to explain.

"We were looking after them and playing with them, but then the storm started coming and we were called over by one of the people in charge telling us to help put the covers on. So we went back to the kids to tell them to come with us, but when we went back to where we left them they disappeared!" Chisaki talked quickly trying to inform her as fast as possible.

"Yeah! And so me and Chi-chan went to go find them. We searched for a half an hour but we still couldn't find them. So we eventually gave up and just decided to tell you instead." Manaka finished the story for them.

"We are so so so so sorry Laura-sensei! It was all our fault!" Both girls blame themselves and bow deeper.

All this time during their explaination, Laura stared open-mouthed at the girls shocked. When they were still in the middle of apologizing so many times, Laura put her hand up gesturing for them to be quiet for a moment.

"Girls please calm down. It's alright I promise. And it's not your faults at all, so don't blame yourselves okay? You did nothing wrong. Now how about you go back and get ready for a performance by all the students for everyone?" Laura suggests to them, as she warmly smiles.

The two girls look up at their sensei and back at each other.

"A-are you sure Laura-sensei?" Chisaki asks.

"Yes I'm sure Chisaki."

"B-but won't the three mothers be upset?" Manaka chimes in wondering.

Laura shakes her head 'no' and keeps smiling at her students.

"No they won't. Now don't worry, I'll take care of everything. You two hurry up and go get ready to perform. All the other kids are waiting for you!"

The teens stand up straight and look at each other and back at their sensei once more, not moving.

"Now go!" Laura waves them off with a thumbs up, as the two girls slowly nod their heads and say "Yes Laura-sensei..." as they turn around and walk at fast pace to behind the indoor stage.

When they are gone Laura sighs while closing her eyes. She puts her hand on the side of her head as she makes her way back to the table where her friends were peering at the three talking before.

"L-Laura what's wrong? Those were the two girls who were watching our kids. And I didn't see them with them." Koharu states worriedly, now looking around to try and see if she can spot her daughter.

"Koharu—"

Asahi starts, but Subaru interrupts him.

"They're lost aren't they Laura?"

Laura opens her eyes filled with seriousness to glance at Subaru. She doesn't say a word but just nods her head slowly. Her expression full of concern just thinking about the three missing kids.

"What?! Well then we'll just have to go out and find them ourselves! Come on Kanata!" Ako demands in a hurry.

"Lets go!" Kanata agrees as they stand up from their chairs.

"Wait you two! We'll all search for them okay?" Nozomu quickly announces before they have a chance to run out of the building.

"Nozomu's right you two. Now let's go and hurry!" Subaru agrees with his other friend and everyone stands up from the table.

"I hope they're alright..."

"Me too..."

Both Yume and Koharu mumble to each other as they glance at one another. Asahi grabs the door handle and opens the door letting everyone out first.

Once they are outside, it seems the storm has mostly settled. Leaving only some mild wind left blowing.

"Alright guys, lets split up. Two people each. Each couple goes together in search for any of the three kids. We'll call out everyone's name, so maybe one of them can hear us." Subaru declares with a serious tone in his voice.

Everyone nods their heads quickly in agreement and begin to split up when a sudden noise, kind-of sounding like a helicopter, comes out of nowhere.

The wind picks up as they all peer up in the dark sky to see in fact a helicopter hovering lower than usual in the sky.

"What the—" Kanata shouts over the loud roar of the flying vehicle.

"HEY GUYS! I'M BAAAACK! LOOK UP HERE!"

A blaring voice sounds above them, seeming to be talking or rather yelling at them.

"Is that coming from the helicopter?!" Yume yells to everyone.

"What do you think Yume?!" Ako screams at her.

"Please don't start arguing you two!" Koharu yells over the loud noise, covering her ears.

"Wait... Hey guys doesn't that voice sound familiar to any of you?!" Asahi shouts to his friends, cupping his mouth.

"NO!" The rest of them shout back at him, clearing wanting the helicopter to go away.

"No seriously! That sounds like—"

He gets cut off by the voice suddenly blaring at them again.

"FINE! IF YOU WON'T LOOK UP AT ME, THEN I'LL JUST COME DOWN TO YOU!"

There was a moments pause with everyone down below confused, before the voice came again.

"WOOOOHOOOO! MAHIRU JUMPING OUT OF AN AIRPLANE WHILE TALKING OUT OF A MEGAPHONE, CHECK! NOW I CAN MARK THAT AS COMPLETED FROM MY BUCKET LIST TONIGHT!"

The voice coming from Mahiru screams, while she's falling from the sky.

Once she gets low enough, she pulls the string on her bag, releasing the neon purple parachute that reads "Top Model" across it with big white letters.

Soon enough, everyone can see her and their mouths and eyes widen with disbelief and shock.

"Mahiru?!" They all shout at the same time.

"Ha! See I told you I recognized that voice! It was my sister's." Asahi boasts as he points at his little sister, with a proud smile on his face.

Mahiru lands on the ground with a soft thud as the parachute falls behind her. As she does the helicopter stops hovering and flys away.

The group rushes to her and the girls practically jump on her, giving her a huge hug. The boys stand behind them, happy to see their friend and sister again.

"Mahiru what are you doing here?!" Yume asks still half in shock.

"Yeah, I thought you had that big modeling job to do in Hawaii?" Laura questions.

"Did you finish it that quickly? Or did the company call you back?" Koharu wonders.

"Tell us Mahiru!" Ako demands to one of her best friends.

Mahiru just smiles at them and laughs. "Calm down you guys! I finished early and knew you were here at the Festival, so I came to see you. But I didn't know the guys were going to be here too..."

She peers her head to look at her friends and bother curiously.

"Uh, yeah we didn't know either..." Ako confesses.

"It was kinda a shock too..." Laura admits.

"Hehe, yeah..." Yume adds.

"Oh I see." Mahiru concludes with a confused expression.

Silence befalls the girls for a second before a voice breaks it.

"Mahiru! Please, please help us!" Koharu pleads as she clutches onto her sister-in-law's arm. "Please help us find the kids!"

Mahiru looks at Koharu with more confusion on her face than before. She places one hand on Koharu's trying to comfort her somehow.

"What do you mean by help find the kids? Are they missing Koharu?!" Mahiru's eyes are filled with concern as she hopes her question will be answered with a no.

At the word 'missing' Koharu begins to tear up as she mutters a sad "yes".

"Don't worry Koharu! I'll find them. You just leave this to the pro secret agent!" Mahiru declares confidently.

"Pro secret agent?" Koharu wonders.

"Since when were you that?" Ako asks.

"Wow! That's so cool Mahiru! I thought you were a model though?" Yume's eyes sparkle excitedly as she widely smiles.

"Um Yume... I'm pretty sure Mahiru is joking. She's not actually a secret agent, you know." Nozomu chimes into the conversation.

"Seriously Yume..." Subaru mutters to himself rolling his eyes in a playful manner at his wife.

"Yes, yes I'm a model by day and a secret agent by night! I'll be on the case, but first let me get my special gear..."

She trails off to turn around and unzip her backpack. Then she pulls out some type of goggles and grabs her megaphone off the ground.

"What are those?" Laura points to the goggles.

Mahiru straps on her goggles over her eyes and presses a button on the side of them.

"They're called night vision goggles Laura. Now, secret agent Mahiru is on the case!" She gives a peace sign to everyone (while not forgetting to break some tiles) and bolts off in a random direction, heading towards covered booths wet from the rain.

The group stands there dumbfounded, wondering what in the world could have happened in Hawaii.

"So... Who else thinks Yuzu has rubbed off on her since they both were in Hawaii together...?" Asahi questions as he holds Koharu in his arms, trying to sooth her constant worry.

No one answers but they all sweat drop -except for Koharu- just thinking about Yuzu influencing their friend.

15 minutes have passed since Mahiru went to go find the kids and the three mothers have become even more anxious.

"How long does it take her to find them?!" Ako was growing impatient as she was now starting to almost panic.

"I'm sure Mahiru's got this under control Ako. She's a secret agent after a—"

"Hey guys! Look who I found!" A familiar voice shouts from behind them, interrupting Yume.

They all whip around to see none other than Mahiru and the three little kids all huddled together beside her.

"Sayu!"

"Hikaru!"

"Mitsukuni!"

The three mothers sprint to their children with their husbands close behind.

When the three kids spot each of their mother's, their cold lips start to quiver from tears spilling down their cheeks. All three of them run to their respective moms and jump into their arms, sobbing.

"I'm so sorry mommy!" Sayu sobs into her mom's chest as Koharu runs her fingers through her daughters dirty blonde hair, soothing her. "It's alright darling. It's alright. You're safe." Asahi bends down and kisses his daughters cheek and hugs her tightly.

"Mommy!" Mitsukuni sobs into Yume's neck as she rubs his back soothingly. "Shhh, calm down sweetie, you're okay now." Subaru ruffles his son's hair kissing his forehead.

Ako's son, Hikaru, doesn't say anything, but just continues to sob in his mom's arms. "Honey everything's fine. You're with mommy right now see?" Ako smiles at him, even though he continues to cry. Kanata comes up to his family and hugs them both, also giving a quick kiss on his son's nose, which he ends up giggling a little at.

Nozomu, Laura, and Mahiru smile at all the families, very happy that they are all reunited.

After the kids calm down some, they go inside the building again and find a table to sit at.

The parents all make them thank Mahiru when they finally settle down.

The three kids stand up and face their aunt. "Thank you Auntie Mahiru..."

After Mahiru manages to comprehend them, she smiles big and gives them a peace sign and a wink. "You're welcome little agents, but no problem. I'm glad I could help!"

The three kids smile at that.

"Besides! That's what any secret agent would do!" She gives them a thumbs up and a huge grin.

"Woah! Auntie Mahiru is a secret agent!" They all say in absolute wonder.

Mahiru nods at this and the others sweat drop.

And then the next thing you know, the three kids are running around the table repeatedly shouting at the top of their lungs.

"AUNTIE MAHIRU IS A SECRET AGENT! A SECRET AGENT! A SECRET AGENT! AUNTIE MAHIRU IS THE BESTEST EVER EVER!"
