My poetic confession (part 2)

After ending the call, Poe was blushing like a tomato. He loved hearing your sweet voice and all cuz this guy here also have a crush on you. His case is love at first sight. He didn't know why he just loved the moment he saw your appearance and loved everything. Your clothing, your face, your smile and especially the fact that the both of you share the same interest in books. He wanted to confess to you in his way which is why he's going to enter the poetry recital as well. "I'm going to write a poem for y/n. That way, it will show my love for her." Poe went to his desk and got to work, and he didn't struggle too much writing a poem for you and he finished it in just half an hour. He admired his work and immediately practiced reciting the poem for tomorrow.

Timeskip to tomorrow

This is what you're wearing

You were already for Poe at the entrance of the mall where the book event is being held at and as you were waiting for him, your fingers were nervously fiddling on the piece of paper that was in your hands. You kept reciting the poem in your heart,but the moment that you need to recite it on stage is definitely giving you the jitters. You took a deep breath in and slapped both of your cheeks to get back to reality. "OK! I need to focus and just pour all of my heart out during the contest. Let's do this!" you said enthusiastically. "(Y/n)-chan!" You then heard someone calling out your name and when you turned to the direction of the voice, you were stunned and started to blush at the sight of Poe's appearance.

You just stared at him with your mouth slightly opened. You would pay to see Poe wear something casual like this and his handsome face would totally make you sin for him. (All of a sudden you became a simp for Poe) You then snapped back to reality and just happily waved at Poe. "Poe-san! Thank God you're here! I thought you ditched me at the last minute." you cheekily told him. "N-no! I wouldn't do that to you (y/n)-chan! I just misplaced my stuff at home so it took me a while to find it. "In reality I was actually still practicing reciting my poem, and didn't really look at the time. Thank God Karl reminded me " said Poe in his mind. "You looked at Poe suspiciously and just waved it off. You wanted to get inside and stand on that stage already. "Well~ let's not waste anymore time now! Let's get inside! I wanna see the poetry recital!" you happily told him. Poe looked at you with a blush and nervously nodded his head. "L-lets go inside then". When you pulled Poe into the mall, he couldn't help and looked at you. He's mesmerized by your beauty and this is his first time seeing you wear a dress. Most of the time you would only wear boys clothes and to see you wear a dress really melts his heart.

Timeskip

The both of you went inside and we're amazed with the amount of books that were on sale. You were mesmerized with the selection of modern and classic books. You then noticed a book from your childhood author which was Rachel Renée Russell. You squealed like a little girl and immediately went to the Rachel Renée Russell book section. Poe noticed you being extremely happy just now and followed you. He noticed your sparkling eyes when you held a book titled Dork Diaries.

"Poe-san look! This is my favorite childhood book! It's called Dork Diaries! I used to buy this book everytime a new series was out on sale! I can't believe that they are selling the latest series at a wholesale price!" you happily explained to him. " "You really do love that book, don't you (y/n)-chan?" Poe said while he looked happy when he saw you smile. "Of course! I want to buy the whole series. Let me see the price. Oh..." you said and suddenly became quiet. Poe looked alarmed cuz you suddenly became quiet and he became confused when you put down your favorite book series. "(Y/n)-chan why did you put that book down? Didn't you say that you wanted to buy it just now?" Poe asked curiously. You looked at Poe with your eyes starting to water and threatening to come out. " I did say that but... since the latest series is still new in the market and in high demand... the price is around 4,000 yen. (In Malaysian Ringgit it costs around RM133.27, which is hella expensive in my country) The price is a bit too much for me. I don't have that much money with me cuz..I'm broke" you whispered out the last part. (Same here y/n😭)

Chuuya: Stop cutting in through the story Himiko!

Himiko: God damn it! Be quiet ginger haired midget! I'm the author so I'm allowed to break the fourth wall! Now onto the story.

"If that's the case then I can just buy it for you." Poe told you while picking up the book series that you had put down on the shelf. "E-eh! W-wait Poe-san that series is expensive!" you told him while trying to not let him pay for the books that you wanted. " Don't worry about the price (y/n)-chan. 4,000 is just a small amount to pay. I have spent more money than this" Poe said while smiling at you. You were baffled with what Poe said to you and realization hit your head. He was a former master architect for the Guild and Ranpo did tell you about a time when he spent 20 million yen for just a manuscript. " This guy is giving me a non-rich kid vibe, but instead he's damn rich..." you said internally. And all of a sudden you said something embarrassing without realizing it. " Be my sugar daddy Poe-san." you told him with a serious look plastered on your face. You covered your mouth when you realized what you had just said and slowly looked up to see Poe's face. He also blushed because he didn't expect you to say that or even know the word and before he could say anything you ok immediately ran away yelling. " I'm gonna go somewhere for a bit!". Thus you left Poe behind still baffled with the situation with him still holding onto the book series. "I-I guess I'll go and pay for these books first and head towards the poetry recital.

At a nearby restroom

You immediately went inside to one of the stalls and locked the door. Your heart was beating fast because of the running and the embarrassing thing that you had just said to Poe.

Your face that is blushing

"WHY?!!!! TODAY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A CHANCE FOR ME TO RECITE THE POEM AND NOW I HAVE RUINED IT! you internally yelled while slapping both of your cheeks repeatedly. You really want to run away, dig a hole and bury yourself alive. There's no way you're gonna show up in front of your crush and act like whatever happened just now didn't really happen. You pulled out the paper that you hid in your handbag. You sighed when you looked at the poem because your act just now totally blew out your spirit to recite it on stage. " I guess... I'll recite it to him next time. Maybe today was just unfortunate" you said while folding the paper sadly and putting it inside your handbag again. " Well, let's cheer ourselves up and go to the poetry recital. I can't let Poe see me being sad" you sighed and went out of the restroom.

At the poetry recital area

You arrived at the poetry recital area and you were shocked that there were a lot of people who were waiting for the recital to start. You then felt the jitters and was quite amazed that there were a lot of people that still love poems. You looked around to find Poe and after a few minutes you gave up and sat at an empty seat that you could find. You thought that it was weird that Poe wasn't at the area yet because he was looking forward to it. As your mind was still wondering about Poe's whereabouts, you suddenly heard your phone buzz indicating that you have gotten a message and it was from none other than Poe himself. You opened the text message which said " I hope you enjoy my poem (y/n)-chan". "Huh? Enjoy my poem?" you said with a questioning look. Then you heard the crowd become quiet and heard footsteps on the stage. You looked up and was baffled to see Poe right on the stage. Your eyes bulged up because he didn't say anything about joining the poetry recital. You watched as he slowly walked to the microphone that was on the stage and he started to speak.

" Um hello everyone. I'm Edgar Allan Poe. I'm here today to recite my poem to my long-time crush who's sitting right among the audience" he said while he looked straight at you. You were met with Poe's eyes and immediately gasped as you knew who his crush was. "Wait, I'm his long-time crush?!" you internally screamed while clamping your hand onto your mouth to make sure that no scream would come out. Poe then cleared his throat and started to recite his poem.

I'm so confused
I don't know what to do.
All I know is
I wanna be with you.

You make me smile
whenever you're around.
I could just sit and watch you
without making a sound.

I could talk to you for hours
about nothing at all.
You make me feel so comfortable
into your arms I wish I could crawl.

I miss you when you're gone
I miss you when you're near.
If we are together
we will have nothing to fear.

So I guess I'm finally telling you
I'm being real and true.
Not only do I like you
I'm completely head over heels in love with you.

After Poe had finished reciting the audience gave a big applause while your eyes was watering with happy tears. You didn't expect for your crush to confess to you in a romantic way. You wiped off your tears and gave him a big applause. You then saw Poe get off the stage and you immediately texted him to meet you at the glasshouse garden that was at the rooftop of the mall.

At the glasshouse garden

You felt nervous but at the same time you needed to tell him about how you felt. This was the chance for you to reply to his confession. You nervously walked inside the beautiful glasshouse garden and saw Poe standing there waiting for you. You walked up to you and nudged his back with your finger gently which made him startled. " O-Oh (y/n)-chan there you are. I was worried about you. " he said worriedly. You became silent which made Poe nervous. He thought that his poem was for sure gonna make you reject him and as he was about to say something you spoke up first. "I'm gonna say this once and only once. So you better listen to it properly, Poe-san". you said while looking at him seriously. "O-ok then" Poe said and immediately became quiet while waiting for what you were going to say to him. You then took a deep breath and recited the poem that you had prepared for him.

My love for you is uncontrollable.
My feelings for you are unstoppable.
Can't go a day without thinking about you.
Without you, I'm not complete.
With you, my heart finds its beat.

My heart is filled with joy because of your love.
You are my strength, and without you I'm weak.
Before you came into my life, I was
Hopeless, lonely, sad.
When you showed up, I knew that you were sent to me.

You are always here to cheer me up.
Your smile makes me shy,
And sometimes I wonder where you have been all this while,
But I'm just glad that I managed to get you in my life...
YOU FILL MY HEART WITH JOY!

After you have recited the poem you hold both of your hands to your heart. Your heart was beating so loudly that you didn't know how to keep yourself calm in this situation. "I wonder how he thinks about my confession" you looked up to see Poe's eye vision and you saw his face turning red.

The unexpected thing that happened after your recital was that Poe immediately pulled you for a kiss which made you shocked at his bold action. The kiss felt euphoric to the both of you which made the kiss special. The both of you did not expect this kiss so you both enjoyed it until you both gasped out for air. You both blushed badly and Poe confessed right away . " I-I love you a lot (y/n)-chan. W-Will you be my girlfriend?" Poe asked you. You just smiled and kissed Poe on the lips again. " I love you as well Poe-san and of course I'll be your girlfriend!" you told him happily.

The both of you then enjoyed the remaining day by going on a date with each other and the both of you could never be happier in your lives than this very moment.

Extended ending

"By the way (y/n)-chan here's your Dork Diaries series." Poe said while handing over the book series to you. " Thank you so much Poe!" you yelled like a little kid while happily holding the book series. You then remembered the embarrassing thing that you have told him and nervously looked at him which made Poe tilted his head to look at you. "Um Poe... I'm sorry for calling you a sugar daddy just now. Please forget what I had just said ok?" you apologized. " You don't need to apologize about that (y/n)-chan. I'm prepared to become your sugar daddy at any time of the day. I am your boyfriend after all" Poe teased you "Poe! Since when do you know how to tease people?! And please stop saying that you're my sugar daddy! People would think that I'm only with you for your money!" you whispered yelled at him while gently slapping his hand out of embarrassment. " Well I do have a lot of money so do you want anything else'' your rich boyfriend asked you. " I do want something but I'll refrain myself today cuz I can't handle this embarrassment anymore you said while burying your face into Poe's chest to which Poe returned it by hugging you and chuckling at your cute actions.

Dazai : I guess that's a wrap. Why the hell is his story much longer than mine? Heck if you combined both parts it became a 4k word story! I will not stand for this injustice!

Chuuya: Oh shut up you bastard! At least you got 2700 words in your story while I ONLY got 2122 words. Oi Himiko wanna explain this?!

Himiko: Oh please be grateful for what I have done. You know that I'm still getting into the groove of writing right. I just started writing again just last month. Not to mention the ideas just come with the flow so I can't just add random things just to make your story around 3k words.

Dazai: Oh really? Is it the same for Kunikida and Poe's story?

Himiko: Um... You know I gotta head back to bed. I have a shopping spree tomorrow. I hope you all love the story and until next time! (Himiko left the scene in a hurry)
