Would you do me the honors of being my wife?

A lovely morning always starts with a cup of hot cocoa and hearing the melodious chirpings of the birds outside your window and here you are not enjoying any of it. An annoyed face was plastered on your face and you felt like wanting to give a bad attitude to everyone today. (Himiko: This is me whenever I experience Monday blues. Literally every week💀)  What made you so angry in the early morning you ask? You rather get stressed handling Dazai's flirts and laziness, but today you were damn angry since you got a call from your parents. Apparently you got a rude awakening from your phone that was ringing off the hook and you had to wake up and grab your phone that was on your nightstand. You heard your mom's voice on the other end of line and you had to put on your fakest voice just to make it sound cheerful despite it actually being ABSOLUTELY ANNOYED!

Flashback earlier this morning

"Good morning mom… why are you calling me during this peaceful yet beautiful morning?" you asked sarcastically. " Oh drop the sarcasm (y/n). I'm just gonna cut to the chase since you don't like anything quizzical early morning. You father and I have set you up on a date for this weekend." you mom casually told you. "Oh that's…A WHAT?! I TOLD YOU I DON'T WANT TO DATE ANYONE YET!" you sprung up from your bed and yelled at your phone. "You're already 35 years old (y/n). We have never seen you talk or date any men throughout your life. So we just went ahead and set up a date for you" you mom said. Your blood was boiling and you felt like wanting to punch someone, but you just punched the wall in anger.
(Himiko: I did this a lot back then😅
Chuuya: Wow you got some anger issue..😶
Himiko: I was a rebellious teenager and shut up. You have anger issues all the time even when you're an adult already.
Chuuya: That's foul.
Atsushi: Please continue writing the story!😫)

"You set me up on a date without even asking me! Why is it that you both want me to marry to begin with?! It's not like I have any plans to marry to begin with!" you angrily yelled at your mother. You were still seething in anger until your mom became quiet for a bit. You waited for her response until you heard her reason. "W-We both just want to see you be with someone because we both don't have enough time in this world (y/n). I'm sorry that we set up the date without telling you, but we just wanted our daughter to be happy with someone before we die soon" your mother apologized and you could hear her trying to cover up her sobbing. You softened up a bit and realized what your mother said was true. Both your parents are in their 70s and not to mention they both have stage 2 brain cancer. You just massaged your forehead for a bit and sighed. As much as you wanted to disagree with this arranged date, you knew that your parents just wanted you to date. They never asked too much of you and they have always let you do whatever that you wanted. So being the good daughter, you decided to give that date a go. "Fine. I'll go on this date. JUST THIS ONCE!" you firmly told your mother.

At the ADA office

It was very obvious from the moment you entered the office you had an evident scowl on your face which made everyone nervous to look at you.

You just said morning in a rough way and this made everyone alert that you were in a total bad mood. You went to your desk and typed furiously on your computer making you deskmate, Kunikida scared at your reaction. Kunikida then coughed to get your attention and it did. You squint your eyes at him and everyone started to pray for Kunikida's brave soul. " Bless this brave soul" everyone prayed in the minds.

"Is there something wrong Doppo?" you asked. (Please take note that both you and Kunikida are friends) "More like is there something wrong with you (y/n)? You're never usually this angry unless your parents did something." Kunikida said. You sighed and spun your chair to face your friend. If you talk about this, he would give you reasonable advice. Well at least his advice is credible coming from a matured person. " Here's the thing. My parents decided to set a date for me with some man I don't know. And my dearest mother decided to tell a sad story which made me reluctant to refuse. I HAVE TO GO ON THAT DAMN DATE THIS WEEKEND!" you told the whole story in frustration. This made everyone in the office stop working and looked at you in shock. They didn't expect the arranged date, especially the fact that you AGREED to go. Kunikida's jaw dropped and he fixed his glasses cuz he was way too shocked at your sudden news. "W-wait! YOU AND AN ARRANGED DATE?! I THOUGHT YOU HATED THOSE KINDS OF THINGS!" Kunikida yelled incredulously.

"That's the point, but my parents apparently want me to get MARRIED. I know I'm like 35 but leave me alone. I haven't even confessed yet." You said as you sulked. " Why don't you just confess to the president then (y/n)? At least your parents won't pester you about the date this weekend. " Atsushi asked you. "I would have confessed if I wasn't such a coward…" you sulked and put your head on your desk helplessly. Everyone just looked at you pitifully unlike a certain sweet lover detective.

"Ne~ (y/n)-chan this date of yours is going to be held at that fancy private restaurant that's like 4 stations away from the office?" Ranpo asked. "Huh? Yeah it's gonna be held there, but how did you know?" You asked curiously. Ranpo just smirked at your answer and just continued to eat his lollipop." You'll find out soon" he said mischievously.

Timeskip to the evening

You were resting at the rooftop of the agency and boy you felt much more tired than usual. You were contemplating whether you should confess to Fukuzawa or not, but then again you were scared that he wouldn't accept it. As you were deep in thoughts, you felt something heavy on your laps and heard a meow coming from it. You then realized that it was a cute cat and you couldn't stop the urge to just pet it and you did. "Ahem." someone coughed and you turned around to see Fukuzawa standing a few meters away from you. "Fukuzawa-san?! What are you doing here?" you asked, quite startled by his appearance. " I just came here to feed the cat, but it ran away from me." He pointed at the cat that was still on your laps. "Oh… then do you want to feed it?" " I suppose that there's no harm in it" Fukuzawa said. As Fukuzawa was walking towards you, the cat jumped off from your lap and ran away, which made a sweatdrop appear on the back of your head since Fukuzawa's facial expression changed. He looked really upset that the cat left and you just chuckled at him because he looked cute with his upset face. Fukuzawa then stopped sulking and looked at you which immediately made you nervous.

"W-why are you looking at me like that Fukuzawa-san?" you cursed yourself for the stutter. " Is there something on your mind right now (l/n)? You seemed to be in distress." he asked. "Oh… it's just that my parents set me up for an arranged date this week and I couldn't say no. They did send me the information of my so-called date but I didn't look  at it because I didn't want to. I already have someone who I love." you confessed. You didn't know why but you noticed Fukuzawa's face looked a bit shocked at what you had just said. He then just smiled and patted your head making you blush.

"I think it's better for you to find out who your future date is. He might be your future husband soon. Well I better get going. See you again (l/n)" Fukuzawa bid his farewell and left you dumbfounded. "I got patted on the head by my crush!" You yelled while covering your face.

Timeskip to the weekend

This is your kimono btw

You were there at the restaurant grumbling about your misfortune. Oh how you wish you would have the guts to confess to Fukuzawa and tell your parents that you're dating him instead of having to go through a hellish date with someone you don't know. You took a deep breath and wiped the crease off of your kimono. You wore a beautiful kimono and had put on very minimal makeup to show off your natural beauty. As you were done with what you were doing you heard someone cough. You froze because you knew where you had heard that familiar cough. "Wait there's no way it's him right?" you asked yourself and when you turned your head to the source of the sound, you were flabbergasted. It was Fukuzawa who looked dashingly handsome with his yukata and he just smiled when the both of you made eye contact. You couldn't say anything but just looked at your crush until he spoke up.

"Cat got your tongue (l/n)?" Fukuzawa said. "Y-yes. Wait No! Wait I mean…" you fumbled with your words because you didn't expect him to tease you and most importantly propose to you. "May I sit there (l/n)?" Fukuzawa asked while pointing to the empty chair that was across from yours. "Y-yeah sure. Make yourself comfortable" you told him. After Fukuzawa had sat down you both didn't spoke for about a minute and it was hell. You told him yesterday that you didn't want to go on this date because you have a crush on someone else. And now your crush is just sitting across from you for this arranged date. The embarrassment that you had was so bad that you didn't want to talk to him at all. Fukuzawa just looked at you with an amused look. He sent the proposal to your parents because he loves you and he knows from the beginning that you love him as well. Well the proposal was actually an excuse because you hadn't made your move on him yet, so he decided to make the first move which was to send the proposal and get married to you. Seeing his beloved future wife blushing and trying her best to not look at him due to embarrassment, he just chuckled which caught her attention. "W-why are you laughing at me? I didn't expect that you would be the one to send me that proposal." you muster up the courage to speak up. "It just surprised me that you were 100%  firm on not going to this date despite your obvious love for me (l/n)" he casually told you.

You let his words sink into your brain and you felt a realization hit you in the face. "Wait.. you knew I had a thing for you all this time? Why didn't you say anything about it?" you asked. You did not expect that he knew about it, but this is Fukuzawa Yukichi that you're talking about so you should have at least expect that no secrets can be hidden from him. "I waited for you to make a move on me, but it took too long. So I took the first step, which is to propose to you." Fukuzawa said. Now that took you by surprise. Where's the date and confession? This guy took relationships so seriously that you coughed out of shock. Fukuzawa looked at you worriedly and handed you a glass of water to which you took it and drank the water. "I swear Fukuzawa-san. You jumped straight to marriage and you didn't even confess to me yet. That's not how a relationship works, you know." you teased him. Fukuzawa just smiled knowing full well of your teasing. He stood up from his chair and went to you. Your heart was beating so fast because Fukuzawa was doing something unexpected and he really did. You heart nearly stopped when he moved his face and stopped a few inches from yours. He then gently kissed your lips and moved away from your face to look at your blushing face to which he find it cute. You touched your lips and looked at the man who looked amused at you. You had tears in your eyes when you saw that he knelt down on one knee and brought out a red velvet box. He opened it which showed a ring in it.

" Will you do me the honours of being my wife (y/n) (l/n)?" he popped the question to you. You held back your tears and nodded your head. "Yes! I do" you happily said to him. He then put the ring on your finger and you both kissed for the second time and you both couldn't be happier that you will get married soon enough.

Extended ending

Three days after the proposal you both went to the office to announce the marriage. You were nervous on how they would react, but your fiancee just called you down saying that everything would be ok. "I wonder how they are gonna react to our marriage. Do you think they would shock Yukichi-kun?" you asked your fiance. "As far as I know those guys probably know about this marriage already. After all, I did ask them for some advice before sending the proposal" he said and turned on the knob of the door. "Wait what?" you weren't able to ask any further when you saw the exciting faces of everyone in the office. "LOOK! There's a ring on (l/n)-san's finger!" Atsushi happily yelled when he saw the ring on your finger. "HOORAY! Finally you two are gonna get married!" Both Haruno and Naomi happily yelled and immediately ran up to you and gave you a big hug to which you hugged back. "Wow you were right, Yukichi-kun. They did know about it." you said with a sweatdrop visible on your head. Fukuzawa just nodded and coughed which caught everyone's attention including you. What he said next shocked everyone except you . "Listen up! (Y/n) and I are already engaged and the wedding will be held within 4 months. And (y/n) wants all of you to be available for the wedding no matter what." Fukuzawa announced. "Wait, isn't that too soon? Like don't you need to plan the wedding, buy a dress or whatsoever? A wedding in four months is a bit.." Ranpo asked in shock. " Well I did tell him that, but apparently my future husband couldn't wait to tie the knot with me soon." you teased him which made Fukuzawa blush at your statement. Everyone in the office didn't expect their president to blush. Like the word blush never did appear in his dictionary, but here he is blushing at your words.

"Well it's better to speed up the preparation instead of waiting too long to be together with my wife." Fukuzawa made up an excuse. "Yeah right. And don't go making excuses. You just love me too much to begin with." you teased him again. "It's not a lie that I love you (y/n)." he confessed to you which made you blush at his words. Fukuzawa felt that he finally won against your constant teasing and he took the opportunity to kiss your forehead. Before walking out of the office he teased you. " I can't wait for your name to be Fukuzawa (y/n) honey." your fiance teased you and he left the room leaving you and everyone in the office dumbfounded. You of course felt embarrassed that he said and kisses you right in front of everyone. You were blushing so hard that your face turned so red like tomato and you could hear Ranpo teasing you. "You two lovebirds are made for each other" Ranpo teased mischievously. "Sh-shut up Ranpo." you said embarrassed.

Himiko: And that's a wrap! I couldn't believe that I wrote something this cheesy but at least it's better than... That.

Atsushi: Better than what Himiko-san?

Ranpo: She's saying that it's better than her second book that she had published in 2019.

Himiko: Nah how the hell did you know about that? But yeah it is... I made a terrible decision by reading that book and I cringe at every word in it. Even though I'm the writer😥

Atsushi: Well everyone has their starting point Himiko-san. By the way president how did you feel about the story?

Fukuzawa: It is sweet and I didn't expect that you would put me as a teasing person.

Himiko: Hehe🤭 btw since your part is done, the next person is Oda! I'm gonna finish off your sequel and head off to the next person.

Oda: Thank you Himiko (smiles)

Himiko: (blush) Ahem.. please take note that the story might be shorter since it's a sequel.

Oda: I don't mind about it.

Atsushi: But after Odasaku-san, who's next on the list?

Himiko: Hmm... that's gonna be simple and I might make an angst cuz I hate this person.

Fukuzawa: Is it M-

Himiko: I hope you all love the story and until then goodbye! (Leaves the room)

Oda: Wow she left the room before you could even say his name.
