“Are you fucking crazy?” Andrew yelled, “THIS IS WHAT YOU DO ON MY BIRTHDAY? YOU LISTEN TO MASON’S IDEA? Out of all the people and numerous ideas, you choose to listen to Mason Fucking Walker?”

I yelled back, “I told them it was a bad idea, don’t blame me”

Jeremy came and smacked me behind my head.

Bye Bye, brain cells.

“Okay, okay, all I said was that this wasn’t going to be fun, and I agree this is kind of exciting but mostly, I am scared I’ll die.” I re-stated.

“Oh so you find this exciting? WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!” Andrew said, gulping. Well it looked like he was. I couldn’t see his exact expression though, he wasn’t facing me.

So, let me tell you how this happened, and where we are right now, and why exactly are we plunging to our deaths.

-Flashback-

“No, no, no, no there is no way we are going there!” Maddison protested once Mason presented his idea. Yes, we’d already been to Miami alone, but at least there were no chances of sudden death out there.

“It will be fun! We’ll be back in no time, and it will be just us hiking around the mountains” Mason said.

I glared at him.

“No, there is nothing we can do either.”

“Alright then let’s extend it to camping, we can go camping also!” He said.

Who doesn’t like a good ol’ camp? All of us, excluding Mason.

“Dude, no. What if we get eaten by a bear?” Jeremy asked, terrified.

“You won’t.” Mason deadpanned, “There are very, very, very rare cases of bear attacks, or actually animal attacks in general out there”

“WHAT IF WE ARE THE RARE CASE!?” screamed Ashton.

“WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO SCARED?” Mason shouted back this time, “It isn’t like we’ve never gone camping before!”

“We have, sure. But we had Coach Brown with us! That guy can scare away a grizzly bear” I said.

“Geez, you are so annoying! All of you! Fine. Does anyone have a better idea, or even an idea?”

The sad part was that none of us had an idea, no idea at all. I could think of tons of girly stuff, but for Andrew? The party was totally out of question, there’s no point in inviting half the school only to get wasted and end up cleaning all day with a massive hangover.

We could just go for a dinner, but then again it’s is 18th.

“Okay fine, so none of us have ideas. We do, but they are too lame and there’s absolutely no point, so if we go with yours. And I mean if, what will we do?” Jeremy questioned.

“Exactly, how will it be fun?” Lisa joined in.

“What can we possibly do to keep this memorial?” Maddison asked, next.

“That, you leave it to me.” Mason said, smirking.

And here we are, a couple days later, on some mountain which Mason said he is familiar with. We were supposed to go towards the trekking track, and find us a spot, plant a tent, roast some marshmallows and say scary stories, do the whole movie thing. But instead, we are lost.

YES WE ARE LOST ON SOME MOUNTAIN WITH NO PROPER CELL RECEPTION.

AND WE DON’T HAVE AN ADULT WITH US, MASON IS LEADING OUR TREK.

I AM GOING TO DIE.

“We aren’t lost, well we are, but I’m sure we can find our way back, I mean the road is straight up and down, there’s no we could die in here or something.” Mason squeaked.

Andrew kicked his butt.

“Just like you were sure this was the way to the stupid point?”

Mason turned around and threw his stick at Andrew. “Don’t ruin it pants, pan.”

“Pan?” asked Ashton

Mason grinned, “I wanted to rhyme”

I groaned, “Can we please sit down? We have been walking for hours! I don’t care if we don’t find our sleeping bags again, I swear if one of you makes me walk one more step I will bite your head off. Then, you will be called as an animal attack snack.” I threatened.

“To be honest, I side with her. If I walk one more step, I am just going to break and fall, and then break some more” Lisa said, sitting on the road beside me.

“She’s right; we might as well sit and figure out where to go next, which way actually. We need a break.” Ashton said, sitting beside me as well. I leaned into him, thankful I had support. One by one we all sat down on the road, tired and almost asleep. We looked like zombies right now.

I didn’t even feel like taking a selfie, and now that is saying something.

Mason fell asleep on Ashton’s legs, while we tried to figure out if we were supposed to go right or left.

So while these people try to figure out what’s next, I’ll let you on, on how we were lost.

-Flashback-

We had blindfolded Andrew, after surprising him by smashing a cake on his face and spending the night outside in his backyard. Yeah, we slept there because there wasn’t a decent place to hold all of us; Alana was scared we’d do something to her clients’ papers. So, we slept out in sleeping bags.

At 6am, Mason threw ice cold water on us, and woke us up.

It took Jer a little more than ice water though, we had to pinch him and yell in his ears.

Mason took the wheel and was taking us to some mountain which only he knew about. We were supposed to ride half way there, then walk. Yes, walk.

When Andrew saw dirt around us, he looked straight at Mason and said,

‘This was your idea, wasn’t it?’

Mason nodded, triumphantly. Little did he know, there was no victory

We walked for 2 hours, taking little stops in the middle because we had heavy bags full of food, water and sleeping bags. We were going to be camping after all.

It was around 1pm, and we’d found a good spot somewhere in the woods.

“Oh my legs, my legs!” exclaimed Jeremy, “I can’t feel them!”

“Me neither!” I said, in pain. I had never walked so much in my life, never.

“Let’s eat something; we’ll set up our tents later.” Ashton suggested.

We nodded in agreement and began unloading our bags. Mason and Ashton started removing the equipment we needed for tents and the rest of us pulled out our sleeping bags and tossed it in the pile with the tent equipment.

Maddison laid out a huge blanket and set rest of the bags on it.

Lisa removed the different boxes of food we had packed. Then a huge container of soup and some paper plates, forks, spoons and cups.

“Wow, we actually got everything right” I said, amazed.

“Yeah well, that’s because it was I, who packed” Said Maddison, proud of her self.

I had to give her that, she was the most responsible one amongst us.

We had soup, and some pasta with sandwiches. We had tons of water and then began working on setting up tents. We were 7 people, Ashton, Mason, Jer, Andrew, Maddison, Lisa, and Me.

We had only 2 tents, so we’d be divided into three and four.

“Alright people, gather up. It’s Andrew birthday!” Mason said, slapping Andrew on the shoulder, “Let’s do something!”

“Like what?” I asked tiredly.

“Let’s sleep.” Said Ashton, and I nodded in agreement. I was so sleepy, there was no way I would be able to pull even breathing off.

“Whoa, sleep, you’re kidding me right?” Mason asked.

I shook my head, “Mase, we’re all tired, let’s just sleep for an hour or two, then we can do whatever you want us to, deal?”

“Deal” he said, shaking my hand.

“Will someone ask Andrew what he wants to do? I mean it’s his birthday right…” Lisa suggested.

We all looked at Andrew who was glaring at all of us. Obviously, he doesn’t like the camping trip.

“Nah” we said in union

“There’s no point, he won’t say anything, but later he’ll thank us for a memorable birthday” Jer added.

He was right.

So we slept.

After we figured how to assemble the tent, that is, it took so much longer than I expected.

Once we were done, we fell asleep instantly. Mason, Jer, Andrew and Ashton took one tent and Madds, Lisa and I took the other.

We woke up around 7 because someone fell off of a tree.

No I’m not kidding, so apparently Andrew was checking out the place while Mason woke up. He and Andrew both thought it would be a great idea to climb a tree, because trees are tall and they thought they could see better from top. Now, I’m not saying they were wrong, you can obviously see better from top. But what they did wrong was sit on the same branch…

I think you already know where this story goes.

Naturally, the two of them fell off with a loud boom, and woke the rest of us up.

Then we did the typical bonfire and roasting marshmallows.

Ashton and I hadn’t gotten a proper chance to speak to each other yet, things got busy with school prep. So I saw my chance when we were all around the fire. I didn’t announce or anything, I just quietly told Ashton about what I saw in the park.

“You stole her cycle?!” he asked.

I groaned, “Seriously? Is the first and only question you guys can ask? Yes, I stole her cycle. Now moving on, am I supposed to be worried?”

Ashton pursed his lips. “Who else knows what you saw?” he asked next.

“Only Jer” I replied

He let out a sigh. “Okay good, what did he tell you?”

“He told me to trust you that you’re not cheating, but that isn’t the point Ashton. I want you to tell me why I should trust you, why should I forget what I saw, and why you lied to me. I need answers”

“I know Diana, I know you do. And I would tell you everything, but now is just not the time” he said

“That’s what all guys who cheat in movies say”

“You watch way too many movies”

“I love movies”

“But this is reality”

I just shrugged, I still wasn’t fully convinced. I know I should have trusted what Jer said, but I needed to let Ashton know what I saw. I needed to see his reaction for myself.

“Listen, I am not cheating on you,” he started off. “I’m sorry I lied to you about meeting Mel, but I wasn’t sure what to do at that moment. I kind of panicked because she kept calling me. Meeting her was important for me because I had her do some work for me, and she just delivered whatever I needed. As for the whole ‘hug’ thing? That was just a thank you-hug, nothing more than that. Mel and I are still friends, and if you want me to stop that, I will. But you need to know that I love you, and only you. There is no one I would find more attractive than you. Well, there is Megan Fox, but come on she is like a universal crush. I bet even you can’t resist her.”

I nodded, “It is true. She is fucking hot; I think I have a girl crush on her”

“My point, anyways, just trust me on this, there is nothing going on between us. I wouldn’t have lied to you about meeting her if I thought you wouldn’t question it, but I do know you would and you would have wanted to come with me, and that would kind of ruin the whole point of meeting her secretly without you knowing” he explained.

I thought for a moment.

I didn’t think Ashton would cheat on me, and the Bitch Mel chapter was over. I let this go for now.

He kissed my cheek, “I’m sorry, I promise you I am doing nothing wrong.”

I leaned into him, and he wrapped an arm around me. “I believe you”

I looked at Jeremy from the corner of my eye. He was looking at us, or rather somewhere beyond us with a sad smile on his face. I felt terrible.

“Excuse me for a second,” I told Ashton and excused myself. I got up from my seat beside Ashton and made my way to Jeremy who flashed me a smile.

“Hey” I said.

“Hey”

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“You really want to know?” he countered, raising an eyebrow.

DAMN HOW DO THEY DO THAT?

I chuckled, “Not really.”

“I thought as much. I’m guessing you told him about what you saw in the park?”

“Yeah, he promised me he was doing nothing wrong and I believe him, I guess”

He smiled. “You should, I told you he isn’t doing anything wrong”

“Yes I know, but I’m a girl, I get jealous and plus he lied. Also, it’s Bitch Mel”

He laughed at that, “True”

I bumped shoulders with Jer, “Cheer up; I can’t see you like this”

“Give me a minute or two more, and then I’ll be fine.” He said.

“Deal?”

“Deal”

Mason suddenly got up.

“Okay listen up, we are in some unknown place, we need to explore. The sun has set, let’s go an adventure!” he hollered.

I rolled my eyes. “Mason, that’s the kind of thing you don’t do in unknown places.”

“Especially at night” Maddison said, agreeing with me

“So what? You’re telling me that you will explore a known place? That is just dumb” Mason said.

Well, he does have a point.

“He does have a point,” Ashton voiced out my thoughts.

“Yes but you can explore in the morning” said Andrew, “exploring at night is dumb”

“He also has a point” I said.

“Aw come on! Don’t be buzz kills, we’ll go a little further and back, at least see if there are only trees and dirt everywhere. Also, I checked and these mountains are safe”

“CHECKED WHERE? THIS WHOLE THING IS UNHEARD OF!”  Lisa said. She looked kinda scared…

“Jesus, you guys suck! We’re all together, what could possibly go wrong?” Mason yelled.

He really shouldn’t have said that.

“You really shouldn’t have said ‘what could go wrong’,” I told Mason.

He grumbled something I couldn’t understand, “I believed nothing would go wrong! Who knew we would get lost!?” He replied.

I glared at him, “I told you we could get lost! I told you something like this always goes wrong! They show similar incidents in movies all the time!” I said.

Mason patted my back, “You watch way too many movies.”

“That’s what I said” Ashton said from beside me.

“I did too!” said Andrew.

“And I” said Maddison

“Me-” Jeremy began to say something but I cut him off, holding my hands up.

“Okay, okay, I get it. But, it did happen! We did get lost!”

“And isn’t it fun? Isn’t this like the biggest adventure you’ve ever gone on?” Mason asked me, his eyes sparkling.

“Bullshit. All we did was throw rocks at each other, find a little puddle of water, and say hello to snakes” I said

“That was actually pretty funny,” Andrew said laughing. “You got so scared; I thought you were going to shoot us or something.”

“YOU ALL KNOW HOW FUCKING SCARED I AM OF SNAKES! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME?” I yelled at them.

So you don’t know this part of our ‘trek’.

When we were just walking and talking and goofing around with each other, I didn’t realize I was the only one who was walking alone. And I was first, like there was no one before me. So, I was telling these guys about some other cooking disaster I had, it was a long story so I kept yapping and yapping and yapping, while they decided to play a prank on me.

All of them.

Mason knew we were going to be camping, so he had bought a couple of fake rubber snakes.

Now I am not scared, but terrified of snakes. I will hit you if you even dare to show me a picture of them.

So while I was walking, they threw one snake at me.

It landed right on my shoulder and I could feel it’s leathery (actually rubber) skin on my shoulder. I screamed like a banshee, and started running around in circles. I almost peed in my pants. I kept screaming get it off me, get it off me.

And in response all I got was laughter!

Those jerks had the nerves to laugh at me! Then when I realized the snake wasn’t real, I stormed off into the deeper end of the trees to find a big wooden stick to beat them up with. I did whack them a couple of times, but then they pleaded for mercy and I left them alone. Literally.

I gave them the silent treatment till I got bored because I didn’t have anyone to talk to.

So basically my silent treatment lasted for 5 minutes max.

They all burst out laughing after I yelled at them.

“We’re so sorry! I had no idea you would get that scared!” Mason said, laughing.

“YES YOU DID! YOU KNOW I HATE SNAKES!”

“It’s okay, I’ll keep you safe” Ashton said grinning as he pulled me into a hug.

I’m sorry for the late update but I had no time, my dad was in the hospital, and before him my cousin sister. So I had no time because school started too and it was tough managing both the things. Especially since I was barely at home
