"It will all be over soon, okay?"

"Okay." I whispered back.

"I spoke to the principal and it will totally be fine if you took some rest at home, I told him to not tell anyone about what happened, since you don't need anything more going on in your life, okay? You can take a week off. I was given permission to take care of you and make sure you're fine and get you back to school whenever you decided to, since I was the one who supposedly found you and saved you."

"Woah, Jer, so much already?"

"Yep"

"And hello, I was the one who saved your scrawny ass!" I laughed, well tried to.

Jeremy's lips were still swollen up a bit, his forehead was covered with a huge bandage. And he held an ice pack, which he kept using for his cheeks and eye every now and then.

"Hey! What? I thought I would be all hero and save you and hit all of them and shit, who knew it was so much more difficult then they showed in movies. How the hell do you beat up 3 people plus save the girl man? Such liars I tell you!" He pouted.

I giggled again, "Yeah yeah, now stop giving excuses. We're alright."

"Yes we are."

He leaned down and kissed my forehead.

We were in the hospital room, waiting for the nurse to return back with the results. Since mom had left so much money with me it was enough to pay hospital bills and take care of my health.

"ANNA OH MY GOD WE WERE SO WORRIED. SHIT" Maddison yelled as soon as she opened the door.

"Damn you smartass, we're in the hospital!" I yelled back, not annoyed though.

She burst out laughing. Then, came and hugged me tightly.

"Bitch, easy there, I'm kind of sore!"

"Oh" she blushed, pulling back.

As if on cue, Andrew, Mason, Lisa and Andy waltz inside. They all gave me something or the other, see, this is my family.

Jeremy got me chocolates.

Maddison got me an amazing 'get well soon' card with a collage of our pictures, and in the back she had written inspiring words about me. I was in awe.

Andrew got me beautiful flowers.

Mason got be a huge fluffy bear.

Andy got me pepper spray and we all burst out laughing. So thoughtful of him

Lisa got me, A LOT. She got me an entire makeup kit, and she totally used it on me. Well, I can't deny that I did look pretty so I decided to roll with it. She got me bracelets, a new dress and heels. Well, she sure spent a fortune.

Everyone was here, where was Ashton? I mean I know that I am supposed to be mad at him and loathe him, but at the end of the day he is my bestfriend. And, I can't stay mad at him for too long either. No matter what, there is NOTHING in this humongous world that could make me stop loving Ashton. When I said I loved him, I totally meant it.

'And when this is all gone, the pretty girl, the good life, I'll be standing there just by your side, like always. And you wouldn't even need to say a word. You know why? Because that’s what best friends do'

That, that’s exactly what I told Ashton. A year back, but I remember my promise, I remembered the words I said, and I will stick with them.

"Are you alright?" Maddison asked, as she came and sat down beside me.

"Yeah, sure"

"Gods Anna, you know better than to lie to your bestfriend!"

"Okay fine, but what do you want me to say Madds? I-I I am shocked and and I feel like crap because I couldn't fight back, I stood there and cried-cried until Jeremy came."

"Okay, you've got to be kidding me. Don't you see it? You must be blind then! YOU WERE THE HERO THERE, NOT JER. Woah, that rhymes. Oh, and no offence to you, Jer." Maddison replied.

"Yeah yeah, whatever. It’s a lot tougher in real life okay! Don't blame me!" He pouted.

Everyone in the room cracked up.

Now now, this world has to kinds of friends: friends who show pity and concern and friends who joke about everything but deep down care more than ever.

In a lot of books I have read, the girls who have gone through with rape cases and molestation and completely broke and don't know what to do with their life anymore? Its like they've lost a part of themselves. But me, I didn’t really have anything to loose, oh well except my virginity of course.

Seriously, I gotta stop talking to myself.

When I say I have nothing to loose, it actually is true to quiet an extent. Mom and Dad, both are gone. I will NEVER see my parents again. People who think I'm over it are wrong. Hell, I will never be over the fact that I lost my parents. There is a huge hole in my life, and there is no filing to it, there will always be this emptiness in my heart, the lacking of my parents. It’s not easy, loss, it’s never easy. There are always just so many memories that you can't get away from, you never will. I'm not sad about that though, memories are good. I have good times spent with my mom. To be honest, I'm quite happy that she wasn't here to see what a mess I have made of myself and of my life. I won't be weak again.

You know they say, there is only so much you can loose. My parents are gone. Love of life gone. Okay, when listing down it feels very short and stupid but the two most important aspects of my life is missing.

"Anna earth to. What were you thinking?"

All eyes were on me.

"It’s nothing, well it is. But, all I want to say now is that I'm so, so, so grateful for having each one of you by my side. It means a lot. You guys are the most amazing friends I could ask for. If it weren't for you, I would have been sitting in some dark corner, crying my ass out and asking god to take me away. Well, at least that’s what I did consider my best option without you guys. I don't know how to thank you. All this - these gifts, they mean more than the world to me. Okay, that might be a little exaggeration but seriously, I love you guys!"

"Diana Summers, you say the sweetest and the weirdest things to us, but we love you too." Mason replied, laughing.

Everyone started laughing again.

And I was happy, I really was.

My life ahead would be hard, but not as much as it would seem. I have amazing people with me, to help me, guide me, advice me, tale care of me, and kick me in the butt if I do something wrong. I guess after a certain point you realize life is too short to wait. Don't be sad about your past, your history. Don't cry over yesterday’s bullshit. It doesn't matter. It does not. People change. You will never be the same person as you were when you were 5. You won't and it’s a fact. So why whine over things that are gone, things that you know you won't get back? I say, focus on now. Now is what matters. Don't even think about future, thats all crap too. I mean, you don't know what is going to happen tomorrow, but you know whats happening now, so deal with now, and think about tomorrow, tomorrow.

If that makes any sense at all.

"What’s the time??" I asked, all of a sudden.

"It’s 1230, why?"

"Woah, so you missed school? And wait, wait, wait, are you saying I passed out!?"

"Slow down there, Anns," Lisa asked.

"We didn’t go to school, we all took the day off." Andy answered.

"How? How were all of you allowed?" I asked, popping and eyebrow.

"Seriously Anna, why do you even try?" Andrew asked me.

"Dammit," I muttered. I gots to learn how to pop this damn eyebrow up!

"Whatever. Now answer!"

"Oh, this is gonna be fun," Laughed Jeremy.

I shot him a questioning glance.

"Oh, don't worry, you'll hear. Go ahead Andrew and Mason; please enlighten her with your awful excuses." Jeremy motioned for the two of them to continue.

"Umm, well, Andy got hit while playing football and busted his head." Mason said.

"But, he doesn't even play football," I asked, confused.

"That is what I said!" Lisa pointed out.

"Maddison's dog chewed down her house keys, so she had to take the dog to the vet since her mom is working and Maddison won't be able to get into the house without the keys.." It was Andrew this time.

"But Madds doesn't have a dog nor does her mom work.." I objected.

"That’s what I said!" Lisa pointed out, again.

"Andrew and I went to the graveyard to work on a scientific experiment." Mason explained.

"But how could you do a scientific experiment in a-"

"-graveyard, yep, that’s what I said!" Lisa spoke, AGAIN.

All of us looked at Lisa. Seriously? Like seriously?

"Fine," she said, and put a finger on her lips.

"Lisa here had to be taken to the hospital because she slipped and fell in the bathroom"

"That’s what I said," Lisa spoke.

"Lisa? You didn’t even let me start this time!"

"Oops?"

I rolled my eyes.

Everyone started laughing so hard.

Where in the world do these guys come up with the most horrible excuses in the world? LIKE DAFAQ WHO GIVES THESE KINDA EXCUSES?

MASON AND ANDREW OF COURSE.

"HOLY HERA! They actually said that!?" I asked.

Jeremy chuckled, and nodded a yes.

Well, my amazing friends.

I smacked each one of them in the head.

We all were eating, well I was, and they were watching me eat like retards.

"Can't a girl have her food in patience?" I glared at them.

"How do you like hospital food? I'm going to go have chicken or something." Andrew said while wrinkling his nose.

"Why thank you. Get lost."

"Okay okay, sorry." He said, holding his hands up in defense.

Is it just me? Or my friends have been doing that a lot lately? Nah, they have.

"Hello honey, sorry to bother. But is it just you'll or is anyone left to come? Because we won't be allowing any more visitors, and I'll ask you to leave shortly." The nurse came in and said.

"Nope, we're not expecting anyone else. That’s just about us now." Lisa replied, smiling.

"Okay." The nurse answered back before shutting the door softly.

As soon as she left the room was filled with silence.

No one was left to come? I thought he would show up here at least.

"Where's Ashton?" I whispered.

All 6 pairs of eyes turned to face me,

"Shit." Mason muttered.

"Guyyyysss? What's going on?" I asked, slowly and calmly.

All of their faces turned white, they looked like ghosts. And they were trying to hide something, I was so sure of that.

"Answer me, now." I said a little louder.

"We-we we're so sorry Anns, He-he-" Maddison started.

"He what?" I asked

"He-he didn’t d-didn’t."

"He didn’t come did he? Jerk."

"N-no no no n-not that. He-he-"

"MADDISON, SPILL." I yelled now.

"Hecouldntcomebecausehehadanaccidentandisinthehospital" she said it so fast, that it was impossible to make out what the hell she was trying to say.

"Maddison…seriously? Slow down a little bit and try again, okay?" I asked, keeping calm.

"Ashton could not come because he had an accident and is in the hospital."
