This is a pretty wedding! A lot of flowers around...probably the bride's idea! There's no way a man could come up with all these elegant arrangements around...especially a man like Bammie! Lisa wondered briefly how much it costs to have a wedding like this – but quickly shook the thought aside.
Not like you could ever afford it! And whom are you marrying anyways – yourself??
She almost snorted out loud. She heard about Mina before but never had the chance to meet her until now. Bammie couldn't stop talking about the girl when he first fell for her sometime last year and Lisa remembered rolling her eyes most of the time!
It's not that she was undermining his feelings – it's just that Bammie's always in love with someone that she had somehow gotten used to hearing his over-the-top praises and appreciations. Too many that she can't remember which belonged to whom anymore!
They've been friends since they were little, as the two grew up in the same neighborhood back in Thailand. His mother would sometime bring him over to her house to share recipes and gossip with her mother, and Bammie would always complain about it to Lisa – asking countlessly on why she can't be a boy so he won't have to suffer the tease of playing with a girl so much.
Lisa remembers how annoyed she'd get over hearing it so many times that one day, she eventually kicked him in the balls and spat 'now you're a girl, just put on a wig and you don't have to worry about being teased anymore!'. Bammie cried in pain and told his mother – which had earned him absolutely zero empathy from the elder. She did get a scolding from her mother when they left, but it was worth it.
Lisa could die from laughter whenever they recalled that story in one of their conversations! Look at him now...so grown up...so different than the whiny boy she knew all her life. She'd never say this out loud, but he actually looked dashing in that tux! How time flies...
And Mina...well, she's as beautiful as how he described her to be – angelic even, in an all-white sleeved, mermaid gown with small, floral embellishments and her waltz veil that's attached to the medium-sized, single flower pin on her neatly wavy hair. That roses and diamonds bouquet in her hand must've cost a lot - damn!
They do look like a good pair and a happy ending, especially in this setting. Lisa held in her tears as the guests cheered and clapped for the newlyweds – now walking back on the aisle and waving to the guests around, just like how Cinderella and Prince Charming did before they got onto their equally luxurious horse-drawn carriage and parades around the entire land to show how rich and happy they are and how no one could top off their wedding of the year!
Well...Bammie and Mina might not be having a horse carriage but it's still nothing short of elegant anyways! Instead, they walked through the prideful path in between fairy-lighted Lindens and towards the all-white canopies – where the many tables wait in equally grand settings for dinner.
Yayy food time!!
...
Jungkook's stomach growls again but he can't focus much on calming it down. He always eats at 6pm and it's very rare that he'd miss it – but it's a wedding and he can't just simply shout 'I need food in front of me now!' just because of his eating habits!
They've got to their respective table and the butlers and servers are still waiting for the other guests to take their seats. Jungkook obliviously stretches his neck to find the girl – wondering where she's seated and hoping it's close enough for him to catch a glimpse or two.
"So Kook...how are things with Sana?" Yugyeom asked.
Ahh...here we go...
"Over," He simply answered as he finally caught the face he's searching for. She took a seat at a table across from his – yes!!
"What? Since when?!" He can't tell which voices belonged to whom as they overlapped one another. Why are they so surprised – it's not like he ever announced the relationship officially??
"Three nights ago,"
"Oh man! Sorry to hear that, bro," Jaehyun patted on his back.
"It's fine...we're not even exclusively together," He muttered.
She's seated with a group of girls...but she didn't appear to know any of them. She's smiling politely and talking to them as if she's introducing herself –
"But you're always together...I thought you brought her to meet your parents –"
Aish...can't we just drop the subject already??
"You okay? You wanna talk about it over some cigar and wine?" Mingyu asked.
"Oh, I found this new place – what's it called...Gentlemen's Bowl? My friend owns it –" DK suggested excitedly.
"Ah...it's a speakeasy right? I heard about it – but is the place 'nice' nice?" Yugyeom smirked and Jungkook already knew why. 'Nice' means if it's private and exclusive enough for the high-societies such as themselves. 'Nice' also means if there are good escorts around to keep them company. 'Good' as in quality...pretty and young, eager to make big money in just a night - if you know what I mean.
Jungkook rolled his eyes as his boys began talking about the 'nicest' places in their own opinions. It's not like he's above it or anything...it's just not his style. Unlike them – who were raised with silver spoons promised in their bloods – Jungkook is used to leaving early before the party even started.
He wasn't brought up among them...the elites. His father was a small-time contractor and his mother was a cook at a small restaurant, back in his hometown in Busan. They struggled to put food on the table and watching them do it had always been his motivation to discipline himself at such a young age.
He studied hard and managed to get a scholarship for college to study Internet Technology. He wasn't sure what it was in the beginning – but that was where he learned on developing software and the world of the internet in general. He spent more time sitting in front of his computer than actually having a normal new-adult life.
Jungkook always had this idea that he'll ended up having a desk job in a good company – working under people and earning enough to support his small family back in Busan. His big dream is to not see his parents having to struggle anymore and giving them a good life. And that he has!
The first software he developed was when he was just 19 - an application secure enough to store companies' documents which syncs automatically by selected employees' email addresses, making it accessible even without any internet data. His lecturer was so impressed with the mock-up that he connected Jungkook with his friend, the CEO of Kyobo Life Insurance.
With the advice of the same lecturer, he managed to sell the completed engine at 800 million won. It was his first ever hard-earned money – and a big one at that too! – and he immediately started to invest his time and ideas to develop more software that he could sell.
One year later on his birthday, he gifted his parents a big house, paid off all of their debts and told them to stop working. He also bought a few growing businesses and properties under his and his brother's name as a way of investment. By the end of the year, he had sold 8 mock-ups and 12 completed engines – as well as finally opening his very own IT company, one week after he graduated.
The small startup kicked off so successfully that within 8 months, he received an invitation to partner with one of China's internet giants and biggest mobile game developer – CrossFire. He then began assembling the board of directors and registered it as PointLoop Holdings.
In just 2 years, PointLoop Holdings had a netprofit of at least 500 billion won per year and now at the age of 24, Jungkookhad earned the title as the youngest billionaire in all of South Korea, with awhooping net worth of 3.7 billion won.
Some people might say that he's one lucky son-of-a-gun, but Jungkook knew better.
It wasn't luck that got him to where he is – it's his determination and the countless nights of staying up, sacrificing the so-called youth he always heard of but never got to experience. It's his drive and discipline that kept him on track, so he stuck by it.
He might not be born with silver spoons or special treatments, but he definitely could buy bags full of gold by himself now! Oh wait – he already did –
"So after the after-party then?" Minghao leans forward – excitement written all over his face.
"There's an after-party?" Yugyeom looks confused.
"Didn't you get the extra invite?" Mingyu asked the guy. "The postcard inside –"
"Ahh...I thought it's just another fancy thingy in the envelope!"
These suckers – don't they read things??
"Whatever - I hope it's really an actual party and only selected people are invited. Imagine calling it a party with all these ahjummas and ahjussis around!"
Damn...is it because Jungkook is so fucking hungry that he's now questioning his decision of being friends with these boys?? It's all Bambam's fault really -
"Man - I don't care who'll be there as long as that girl is there," Mingyu pouts and Jungkook turned to where he's pointing...the girl that has now taken off her coat and resting it at the back of her chair.
Her collarbones curved up nicely as she leans forward and rested her chin on one hand, listening attentively to another girl. She briefly fixed the sparkly-studded neckline of her dress and Jungkook can't help but imagine how it would feel like to kiss her there. Would it taste as arousing and hot as how it looked like?
God – he must be really hungry to even be thinking this way! Never before had he imagine this much with just one simple glance!
