Night had befallen the area in which a noticeable white-haired boy stood.

His long hair shined quite bright in the dark of the night and the dog ears on his head twitched as he heard footsteps behind him and a familiar scent.

He didn't bother to move, as he already knew who it was.

"Hey, Inuyasha," Kagome greeted as she walked up to his side, gazing at his bright yellow eyes before looking to the night sky.

"Miroku and Sango are asleep," She told him, yawning and stretching her arms. "As is Kirara and Shippo."

"You tired?" She nudged his shoulder.

He turned to her, tears in his eyes.

"Ah! Why are you crying?!" She panicked, flailing her arms in front of her, trying to comfort her friend.

Inuyasha widened his eyes as he finally felt the water on his cheeks and instantly got red in the face.

"I-I.. I'm not crying!" He yelled at her, quickly wiping away the water that had formed on the sides of his eyes.

"Yes you are! Don't lie!" Kagome yelled back, unsure onto why they were shouting so late at night but went along with it.

"You're just seeing things!" He countered at her, sneering into her face.

She scrunched up her nose in anger. "Sit!!" She shouted and the half-demon was pushed to the ground by the works of gravity, implanting his figure shape into the ground.

"Owwww!" He whined as he sat up, rubbing his head.

"It's your fault for calling me a liar." Kagome told him and he shrugged, pouting his lips at the same time.

"Hey," he spoke again, this time with seriousness in his voice that didn't go unnoticed by the girl beside him, "you're going back to your home tonight, right?"

"You mean on the other side of the well?"

Inuyasha nodded and Kagome chuckled, a smile forming on her face.

The white-haired demon felt his face redden. "Wh-what's so funny?"

Kagome stopped laughing and looked him in the eye. "Is that why you were so out of it today? Because you thought I was leaving to the other side?" She asked.

His golden eyes widened at the statement although they quickly narrowed down. "Nooo..." his voice trailed off, making it quite obvious of the truth.

She kneeled down to him, resting her hand on his head as she patted it gently.

"Don't worry," Kagome smiled. "I'll stay by you."

Inuyasha's face brightened up. "Promise?"

A warm look was plastered over the teenage girl's face.

"I promise."
