Between musical rehearsals, glee club, booty camp and school, I'm relying on Finn and caffeine to keep me going. If I'm not rehearsing or teaching choreography, I'm doing homework between breaks. It gets done by the due date, and it gets done correctly.
On top of all that, Mercedes left New Directions. Which means we're still a man — or, in this case, woman — down for Sectionals. No one can reach Sam since he moved, and it seems like everything's kinda going to hell.
I still can't believe Mercedes quit. She was one of the seven original members of glee club. Tina was crying, and I felt like crying too.
"You know what, girl Chang? If you cry every time someone gets a hangnail, it kind of starts to lose its effect." Santana remarks.
Tina looks at her. "It's not a hangnail. Mercedes was one of Glee's original members."
"I feel naked in here without her." Mike says.
"Yeah, well, get used to it, 'cause without her singing for us, we're going to have to perform naked for the judges to vote for us at Sectionals." Puck says.
Mr. Shue shakes his head. "No. I will not let this setback crush our spirits. I mean, we have handled worse than losing one of our best singers."
"Kind of hard not to blame you, Mr. Shue. Think you were too hard on her at Booty Camp." Quinn says.
"I blame Artie. Why couldn't you have just given Maria to Mercedes?" Tina asks.
"Because that would have damage my integrity as an artist." Artie answers.
"Don't hate on Artie, Tina." I defend my brother.
For the first time in 2 years, Rachel arrives to glee club late. "Sorry I am late. I was putting up posters for my... for my campaign." She says when she sees Kurt.
"Did you airbrush out your jowls?" Kurt jabs.
"No." Rachel says.
"Look, let's stop it, everybody. So we lost a singer. So they canceled the musical." Finn says.
Rachel pales. "Wait, what? No, no, no, no. You can't cancel my musical."
"Sue cut the funding." Mike says.
"The point is, right now, we shouldn't be turning on each other." Finn finishes.
Blaine stands up. "I agree. I can only speak from my experience with the Warblers, but no show choir is just one person; it's a team. When we lost a Warbler, we just replaced him with another one."
"Which is easy when your waiting list has a waiting list. Dude, I know you're a big deal at Dalton or whatever, but we don't wear blazers here, so have a seat - I'm trying to give a pep talk." Finn says.
"Didn't you just say something about us not turning on each other?" I shoot back. Finn sits down, ultimately defeated. I roll my eyes at my boyfriend.
"No, you can't cancel my musical. Okay? I was considering changing my name to Maria." Rachel pouts.
"The musical is not canceled. As for Mercedes, yes, that is a huge loss for us, but we will deal with replacing her later. Right now, we need to focus on putting on this musical." Mr. Shue says.
"How?" Mike asks.
"We sell ads in the program. I figure we can get ten, maybe 20 bucks apiece for them." Mr. Shue states.
"So we'll only have to sell about 200." Quinn says.
"Well, I think it's a brilliant idea. And I volunteer myself to spearhead the charge. It'll give me a great opportunity to, uh, bust out my Banana Republic Mad Men collection." Kurt says.
Mr. Shue nods. "Okay. All right. Let's break off into smaller groups, figure out who's going to canvass which parts of the city. And guys, I don't care what Sue does or who leaves us - everyone in this group's dreams are going to come true this year."
"Let's do it." I say.

I'm approached at lunch by a kid wearing a green shirt. "Excuse me. Are you two Angela Abrams and Finn Hudson?" He asks. He has an Irish accent.
"That's us." I assure. He breaks out into a big smile.
"Me name's Rory Flanagan. I just moved here from Ireland." He introduces. I smile and shake his hand.
"It's very nice to meet you Rory. Brittany told me about you — she says you're the leprechaun living in her house?" I ask for clarification. Rory nods.
Finn looks incredulous. "I'm sorry. Brittany thinks he's a leprechaun?"
"Well Brittany still believes in Santa Claus." I remind him.
"True." Finn says.
"I was wondering if you two would be my friends? I'm really lonely, and the only friend I really have here is Brittany." Rory says.
Finn gives me a look and I give him one in return. He sighs in defeat and I smile over at Rory. "Of course we'll be your friends Rory."
Rory's eyes light up. "That's awesome."
"I heard about glee club needing an extra man. When do I need to audition?" Rory asks.
"You can come with us to the choir room after school sometime this week. We don't expect you to audition right away, but you can think of a number over the rest of the week. Just make sure you audition by Friday afternoon." I tell him.
Rory nods. "Thank you guys again. I feel a lot better now that I've made a few friends here at school."
Finn and I smile at each other and then at Rory.
"We've got your back Rory."

Mr. Shue smiles at us the next day. "Okay, everyone, I have some very exciting news. Due to the collective spirit of this club - particularly the hard ad sales work of Kurt, and the generosity of the entire Hummel-Hudson household - it's my pleasure to announce that we have raised the money to do West Side Story this year."
"All right!" Artie cheers.
"Good job, everyone. Great job." Our teacher compliments. Then he looks to Blaine. "Blaine, you actually had something you wanted to say, right?"
Blaine nods. "Yes, I did. I just wanted to acknowledge that we've all had a really rough week, what with Mercedes leaving. So I prepared a little something to show what Mr. Shue just said - that the magic is still here. So this is to remind us of what Glee is all about, which is just fun."
Blaine breaks out into Katy Perry's 'Last Friday Night.' It's a wonderful song.
[Last Friday Night by Blaine]
Everyone's dancing except for Santana. Blaine's dancing around a bit with Kurt, who's having a great time.
"You guys, that song is amazing. I think we should do it for Sectionals!" Blaine announces.
"So... no concerns about showcasing any other voices this year at the competition?" Santana asks.
"Oh, come on, Santana. You were featured last year at Sectionals." I tell her.
"Yeah, I know. And we won. Oh! No, you know what? I get it. Since Mercedes is gone this year, it's going to be the Blaine and Rachel show. Yay! You all know it's true." Santana tells us.
"Noted." Blaine says.
"Good to know." Finn states.
"Thank you, Santana." Mr. Shue says.
Santana, I love you, but damn... keep your mouth shut.

So Burt's running for Congress now, and he's going up against Sue Sylvester. I have a feeling that if anyone can beat Sue, it's Burt.
Hell, given everything we've all gone through last year, Burt is more than deserving of being in Congress.
Finn and I are cuddling when he shifts suddenly. "Damn it." He mumbles.
I frown. "Do I need to sit up baby? Are you uncomfortable?" I ask.
"A little. I have to run to the men's room." He says and when I get up, he sprints to the bathroom.
That was weird.

Finn P.O.V.
That was so embarrassing!
I can't believe I got a hard-on while cuddling with Angie. I know she's smoking hot, but do I really need to be thinking of her like that when we're cuddling? No! Bad Finn. Think of the mailman.
I exit the bathroom once I've... calmed down, and I bump into Kurt. "Oops. Sorry man. Didn't see you there." I say.
"Finn are you okay? You look like you just ran a marathon." Kurt states.
"I-I'm fine." I stutter. Damn it, he knows I stutter when I lie.
Kurt raises an eyebrow. "You're not fine. Are you having girl trouble?" He asks.
"No, no, no. Angie and I are fine. It's just... I feel a little embarrassed." I admit.
"How come you feel embarrassed?" He asks.
"I, um... we were cuddling, and then my mind started thinking dirty thoughts about Angie, and I got a bit of a tent in my pants." I tell him.
He starts to chuckle. "It's not funny Kurt! It's embarrassing." I state.
"It's not embarrassing Finn. Look, you and Angie are one of the cutest couples in school. You two have been dating for almost eight months now. Of course you're going to start thinking that way about her. It means you're possibly thinking about taking the next big step with her in your relationship." Kurt says.
I blush. "I've never thought about her in a dirty way. It just took me by surprise." I tell him.
"And that's okay. Look... maybe you should talk to Angie about this. I'm sure that talking about it will help both of you." He says.
I nod and hug my stepbrother. "Thanks Kurt."
He smiles. "It's cool. Glad I could help you out."
Who knew that when it came to relationship stuff, Kurt Hummel is the person you could talk to?

I'm approached by Mercedes at my locker.
"You should come and join Shelby's all-girls glee club. You'd be a great addition." Mercedes says.
I chuckled. "I appreciate the offer, but no thank you."
"Look Angie... you were featured as a soloist for Regionals last year. And we all loved your song, but you haven't really been given many chances to shine. With Shelby, everyone can have their chance to shine and be a star. Just... think about it, okay?" Mercedes asks.
I nod and she walks off. I now have a choice to make.
Do I stay in New Directions with Finn or do I join Shelby's glee club with Mercedes?
I got a lot of thinking to do.

On Friday, I'm approached by my boyfriend at my locker.
"Please tell me it's not true." Finn says.
I raise an eyebrow. "If this is about the Selena Gomez pregnancy rumor, then no, it's not true."
"No. I'm talking about you wanting to leave the New Directions." Finn states.
Oh. He knows.
I sigh. "I thought about it. I really thought about it. But I found that I just can't leave you guys. I love my girls, but I can't just abandon everyone else — especially you, Kurt and Artie. I don't want to leave you guys. I love everyone in that choir room."
Finn smiles. "Thank God. I was worried you were going to tell me you were leaving the glee club. I almost got scared for a minute."
I giggle. "Even if I tried, I could never leave my family when they need me the most."

This year hasn't started out great at all. Minus the fact that Quinn's come back to glee club, Mercedes — and now Santana and Brittany — have all left glee club.
What's worse is that all three girls are my friends and they've left. Now the only girls in glee are me, Rachel, Quinn and Tina. Now we have strength in the numbers of men. And where the hell is Sam?
Mr. Shue sighs. "Look, guys, I know this is gonna be hard. This isn't how I pictured starting out this year, either."
"Then I guess we've got our work cut out for us." Blaine says.
"What happens when the pope dies?" Mr. Shue asks.
Nobody answers.
"You get a new pope. There's always new talent to be found." Mr. Shue answers.
"Always a new voice, right, Mr. Shue?" Blaine asks. Our teacher nods.
Finn and I stand up and walk over to Rory. "Well, everybody, I'd like to introduce our friend Rory Flanagan. He's interested in joining Glee Club." Finn states.
"Can this kid even sing?" Puck asks.
"I sing at Mass every Sunday, and I love American music. If you don't mind, I'd like to dedicate this song to my family, who I miss so much." Rory says.
Rory sings 'Take Care of Yourself,' which makes myself, Rachel and Tina a little teary-eyed.
[Take Care of Yourself by Rory]
Finn and I stand up and clap for him loudly after he finishes singing.
I look at Rory with a big smile.
"Welcome to New Directions, Rory."
