**Mitch POV**
It's the next day and we are heading over to Kirstie's dad's to get his blessing for Jeremy and Kirstie's marriage.

Kirstie's mom of course gave her blessing but it's her dad that Jeremy is worried about.

"How you doing, champ?" I ask Jeremy.

"Nervous. Very nervous." He says.

"Have you talked to Kirstie at all since you left on your 'business trip' yesterday?" I ask.

"No I haven't my phone has been dead. Can you plug it in for me." He says handing me his phone.

I plug it in and it lights up immediately with the apple logo.

"Can you see if I have any messages when it turns on?" Jeremy asks.

"Sure." I say with a smile.

I see his phone come on and messages start coming through like crazy. I start to scroll through looking for Kirstie's name and finally I see it.

"Looks, like Kirstie texted you? She's wanting to know where you went on your trip." I say.

"Oh yeah I didn't tell her where I was going just told her I was going on a trip." He says.

"Well now she's getting suspicious. I'll cover for you quick get in a selfie with me." I say.

**Kirstie POV**
I texted Jeremy last night but he never texted back and now I'm starting to get suspicious. Just when I was about to call Jeremy, Mitch sends me a text.

Look who I found in Texas! Going out for lunch.

Mitch said in his text with a selfie or him and Jeremy. Well at least I know he's in Texas and that makes me feel so much better.

Have fun two of my favorite boys!

I text back to Mitch. It's nice to see one of my best friends and love of my life going out to have some fun.

**Jeremy POV**
Mitch and I just got to Kirstie's dads house and now I'm terrified. I've only met him once and he wasn't so pleasant then.

"Mitch, tell me something encouraging so I don't back out of this." I say to Mitch.

"Wish I could but I'm scared too." He says.

"Great! Okay. Umm okay I think we should back-" I was interrupted by a knock at my window.

"Can I help you boys?" Kirstie's dad says.

"Oh you're Mitchell. Aren't you?" He says.

"Yes, sir." Mitch says in a quiet tone.

"I never liked you." The man says. Mitch jus kind of sank into his seat.

"And you are?" He says.

"Jeremy. Kirstie's current boyfriend." I say.

"Oh. Hello." He says.

"Can we talk?" I ask.

"Step out of the car." He says.

"Okay. So I already asked Kirstie's mom this but I wanted to ask for your blessing because I'm planning on proposing to your daughter." I say.

He kind of gives me a smile. Then takes me by my shirt and pushes me up against the car.

"Break up with her. If you propose to her, you'll regret it." He says in a harsh tone.

"W-what's that's supposed to mean?" I asked scared for my life.

"You marry my daughter and I'll kill you. I don't want to see her happy." He says letting go of my shirt.

"Have a nice day." He says walking away.

I quickly get into the car and start the car and rush back to Kirstie's Mom's house.

"What did he say to you!?" Mitch asks terrified.

"He's going to kill me if I propose to Kirstie because he doesn't want to see her happy." I say.

"Oh shit." Mitch says.

I have no clue what to do. This is really scaring me.

What if I propose to her and he comes after both of us? Or he comes after everyone around us then me and Kirstie!

I always said I would protect her and I will.

I always said I would make her happy and I will.

Nothing will stand in the way of our happiness.

Not even her dad.
