Bruce was commited to the idea that the Legion of Horribles was using Selina, that someone manipulated her into giving into hee darkest impulses.... He wouldn't let himself believe that she went down this road, to lead the group on her own....  But the moment she pointed the gun in his direction and everything finally sank in....... And he froze, numb to her attacks...

When she left him behind he was broken.. His physical injuries seeming minor slash marks  on his back, and a nearly shattered leg..... But on the inside he was broken...
