New Years Special (Not a chapter relating to story line!)

Hey guys! This chapter is a new years special chapter! What happens in this chapter does not relate to what happens in the main story line! I hope you all enjoy!

Your P.O.V:

Surprisingly, you were experiencing your first new year as a regalia. Tonight, you planned to skim food stalls down town with Hiyori, Yato, and Yukine. He was always up for a free food offering, and so were you. Though, you still had plenty of tasks to take care of before the official countdown. You were instructed to pray to Yato this year surprisingly.

Thinking as he wasn't a 'coming of the year god,' you were a little confused by that one. Though you didn't question it, to keep him in good spirits.

"Sit still, (Y/n!)" Hiyori ordered, raking a comb through the tangled tufts of your hair. You winced in pain, whilst squinting your eyes.

"Okay, Hiyori there's no need to rip my hair out of my head!" You responded.

"If you want to look nice for the new year, then you have to let me finish! Besides, it seems like you haven't brushed your hair in days!" Hiyori stated matter-of-factually.

She was right, though. Lately you'd been tossing your hair up into a messy bun without a second thought. Hey, why look nice when most people can't even see you?

"Alright, you're all done! Ready to see?" Hiyori said happily whilst going to retrieve a mirror.

You sat anxiously, but breathed a sigh of relief once you saw your reflection in the mirror.

Hiyori was good at this whole 'making you look pretty for Yukine thing.'

Your eyes had been adorned with a midnight shaded mascara, and a light blush doused your cheeks.

Even a bit of pearl pink lip gloss glimmered off your lips as your natural (e/c) hues topped off the entire look.

Not to mention, Hiyori had curled your hair, the vibrant (h/c) locks formed a sort of portrait view around your face.

You smiled in satisfaction, giving Hiyori a thumbs up in approval.

"I don't know how you manage to do this time and time again, Hiyori." You said with a light giggle, beginning to stand up.

"Its not hard, (Y/n). Besides, like we always tell you, you're pretty!" She smiled, fixing her own feline adorned kimono.

Yours had stood out in its own brilliance, casting off its deep violet tones and multiple floral patterns.

Hiyori clapped her hands together suddenly.

"Alright! Lets go show the boys!"

You carefully followed her downstairs, as the sandals you dawned stood on their own steep platforms.

"Introducing, the beautiful and fair (Y/n)!" Hiyori introduced you to Yato on the couch, much to your own embarrassment.

Yato's vibrant sky eyes lifted up in surprise, as he smirked.

"That's the first time I've seen you without a pair of jeans or sneakers. You look beautiful, my fair regalia!" He joked.

He too was in his own midnight and maroon accented kimono with his trademark 'fluffy fluff' scarf being the main attraction.

"Says the one who wears the same jersey all the time!" You retorted.

The entire time you and Yato had been bickering back and forth, you hadn't realized Yukine had made his way into the room quietly ad-mist the 'squawking'.

It was as if he was child seeing their presents on Christmas morning.

The sunset tones in his eyes brightened, and a deep red blush painted his pale skin.

You noticed him gawking, and immediately broke eye contact with him.

"My job is done here." Hiyori gave you a surreptitious wink.

You figured you would compliment him, but neither your brain or mouth wanted to cooperate. Instead, you just ended up blurting out word vomit.

"YOU LOOK PRETTY YUKINE."

"(Y/N) YOU LOOK HANDSOME."

Apparently you were both to embarrassed to cooperate, and ended up blatantly staring at each other with blushes that could be seen from miles away.

Suddenly, you began to giggle, and so did he. Within a matter of minutes, all four of you had the room filled with echoes of laughter and crouching over to conceal the pain of laughing so hard.

"Okay, okay. We'd better get moving.. downtown we'll be crowded soon if we don't leave." Yato managed to sputter out in between his laughs.

You all agreed, managing to get out the door despite the fact that you were all still dying in laughter.

******************************

11:30.

You smiled nostalgically at the large clock. Within thirty minutes, every single moment you had experienced within the year would be considered the past, something bright for you to reflect on.

From the moment you'd entered the world up to this second in time would become a distant memory. But it would become a dear memory too. And all that meant was that you had plenty of time to make new ones.

"I got the soba!" Yato announced, passing the noodles out to each one of you.

It was Toshikoshi soba, significant of the new year. You inhaled their dear smell, only further enticing your hunger.

You held your bowl in the air, chanting out a public prayer.

"I hope to spend many more new years with my friends!" You said happily.

The three nodded in agreement before digging into the dish.

Once you'd all finished, you all sat patiently in the town square, patiently awaiting the new year and reminiscing on the present one.

You gazed up at the night sky. It had shone brightly over the city of Tokyo and the rest of Japan, a few bright stars dazzling here and there.

You leaned your head on Yukine's shoulder, humming quietly.

"Do you want to know what I prayed for, (Y/n?) Yukine asked you suddenly.

You turned to him, or rather into his chest, humming again in response.

"I prayed for the wish that I get to spend the rest of my life as a regalia with you."

Your eyes widened, as your ears began to fill with sound of your own hammering heartbeat.

You smiled against his chest, and chuckled happily.

"I wish for that too, Yukine."

He wrapped his arm around your shoulder softly, pulling you into his hold.

You sat up, going to lean your head against his shoulder once again.

For the last few minutes of the year, you spent it went a bright grin displayed upon your face, each memory of you and Yukine together replaying themselves in your head.

He too was recalling each memory he'd spent with you over the course of the year, a small smile appearing.

To say that this was the best year of your life would be an understatement. Even if it was the only year of your current life, you had to admit, there was a few moments you'd love to thank the gods for.

"Okay everyone, one minute left until the new year! Get ready to begin counting down!" A feminine voice announced cheerfully over a loud speaker.

The clock in the center of the town displayed 11:59 as the time, as everyone began to make last minute prayers.

You, yourself began to preserve this moment before it became stocked in the back of your memories.

The bright lights of the city shining against you, the crescent moon hanging ominously above everyone, and the towering skyscrapers and buildings in the city that awaited becoming a year older.

You couldn't forget Yato, who was quietly praying for fame and fortune, as Hiyori looked on at him in disappointment.

The smell of countless dishes from multiple food stalls sauntering their way into your nose, and the leftover taste of soba.

It was all preserved, and you felt you were ready to put another new memory in place in your mind.

10!

You looked into Yukine's amber irises, deciding that he was going to be the last moment of this year.

9!

He looked into yours, figuring that the most memorable thing about you was your wide, innocent, (e/c) eyes.

8!

If you weren't already smiling brightly before, you were now.

7!
Yukine believed your smile was so pure it was contagious, as he began to dawn a smile of his own.

6!

You laughed lightly at the sound of Yato cheering each number.

5!

Yukine preserved the sound of your laughter. It made him happy.

4!

Your eyes began to drift close, your face being lifted closer and closer to Yukine's.

3!

"Happy new year, Yukine."

2!

"Happy new year, (Y/n)."

1!

You felt Yukine's warm breaths brush against your lips, adding more temperature to your already heated cheeks.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!"

His lips were already pressed softly against your own, the two of you kissing with ease. It was as if you were both made for each other. The way his lips had morphed perfectly against your own would've surprised anyone.

Though it was only a quick peck, and you were separated again within a matter of seconds, grinning brightly.

Then you both glanced over to see what must have truly been a holiday miracle.

Yato had finally kissed Hiyori.

"ALRIGHT SWEATY GOD! ITS ABOUT TIME!!"

Okay guys! That's the new years special! I know its already the new year for some of you, and Happy New Year to you all! Where I live its only about 9:50 and we're all still patiently awaiting 2016. I hope you all have a wonderful night (or day!) and enjoy this chapter. Its been a wonderful year writing for you all.-Drama Typhoon <3
