What you originally planned to do was bring two people together. You planned to have Yukine be happy. You planned to allow Miyu to be safe.
You wanted him to finish the long journey he encompassed trying to find his past.
He was right at the finish line, but...
Your P.O.V.:
You held Miyu's hand tightly, searching for Yukine. You couldn't wait for him to see Miyu. Everything that you'd promised to figure out together, would be discovered in mere minutes.
That is, until your dear master showed up.
He was sort of like a cat, coming and going as he pleased. Then again, he was a stray god, so it's possible that he could've been a stray cat too.
"Hi Yato.." You said insipidly, your eyelids lowering in annoyance.
"As your master, I cannot allow you to go forward with this innocent child." He said in a wacky tone.
"And why's that?" You asked matter-of-factly, putting your free hand on your hip.
"Because, we could all die if she meets Yukine." He said blandly as if that was a minor problem.
"Who's Yukine..?" Miyu asked, tilting her head cutely and staring at you with wide auburn eyes.
You gave her a somber look, whilst sighing.
"I don't see how him meeting her
would cause us all to die, Yato.."
His eyes lowered into thin slits.
"I've been trying to tell you this from the beginning, that if you or Yukine find out your real names, your entire past will flood back into your memories. You'll become corrupted.... I'll have to...kill you." His voice softened a bit towards the end.
Your heart beat a bitter pattern, each time it left a cold feeling in your chest.
Your eyes watered up as you looked down at a concerned Miyu.
"(Y/n), don't cry... I don't want you to cry." She whispered softly, going to hug you around her waist. She pressed her face into your stomach, and you softly began run your fingers through her satin blonde hair.
"Miyu... I can't show you what I had to show you anymore.." You said quietly, expecting a large outburst from her.
However, she remained silent, continuing to hug you around your waist.
"That's ok. I hope you find what you're looking for, though." She said, turning her head up towards you, her wide sunset eyes hopeful.
You lost it.
You began sobbing, collapsing at her level and taking her into your arms.
Your tears were hot, burning down the skin of your cheeks.
"Miyu, I just wanted you to know that your brother misses you, and he loves you.." You spoke inbetween sobs, softly petting her hair.
"He's there with you, even when he thinks he's not." To this, Miyu squeezed the clothing on your back.
"I know he's there. Just tell him I love him, okay?" She requested with a sad smile.
You looked to Yato, who despite not showing any emotions prodded you on anyways.
"I'll tell him anything you want him to know, Miyu."

It was a somber walk back, a chill sticking to your tear stain cheeks, and a light sprinkle of rain.
Yukine was probably still looking around for Miyu, and you weren't planning to stop him. Telling him what happened would've broken his heart, and did way more damage to his than yours.
"(Y/n)..." Yato softly spoke your name, and you were lifted from your saddened thoughts.

"Hm?" You quietly hummed in response.

"In the event that Hiyori ever does forget us, we'll all be done for anyways.." He muttered.
You looked at him, your eyes urging him to press on.

"And if that happens, I'll tell you what happened to you and Yukine." He said calmly, his blue orbs focused on the matted grey sky.

You creased your eyebrows at his proposal, and bit your lip.
"Hiyori won't forget us though..." You said sternly.

"It won't be anytime soon, that's for sure.. but Hiyori is growing up. Soon she'll have her own family to take care of, and we'll just be a distant childhood memory in her mind." Yato explained nonchalantly. But you knew why he was so chill about this. Hiyori is Yato's lifeline... he probably already explored all the outcomes that would take place if she ever did forget us.
You sighed, glaring at him a bit.
"Y'know, we are Hiyori's family. We all love her a lot. You.. you love her the most. You even promised to make her the happiest girl in the world, Yato.."
His eyes lit up at the sound of that, a little smile appearing.
"WAIT WHEN DID I SAY THAT?!!" He screamed.
You giggled at this, wiping your tear strained face.
"Just lemme know when you want me to plan the wedding.."
He growled, crossing his arms over his chest and muttered sudden profanities under his breath.
Suddenly, Yukine sprinted behind you, a light blush displayed upon his cheeks.
"(Y/n)!" He called your name, a hint of worry in his tone.
Your mood took a turn for the worse as you realized that you would have to keep a secret from him.
He quickly caught up to you, placing his hand on his shoulder.
When he did so, its as if there was a surge of trust flowing between you.
"Hey.. did you find anything?" He asked breathing heavily.
You eyed his hand, and then him. He waited patiently for you to answer, and you knew what you had to do.
Yato stood, awaiting your decision.
You gulped, your mouth forming a shy smile.
"I didn't find anything. But I'm sure we'll take care of everything before Medusa comes out of hiding again."
His eyes searched yours, as if searching for a lie.
He could tell when something wasn't right with you, with that weird ability he had to make you tell the truth his eyes. But luckily, he fell for the facade.
"Yeah... we'll find her soon."

OH EM GEE YOU ALL HATE ME. I am so sorry I haven't updated this story in so long. One week I lost my phone and I couldn't update, another swim season started and I lost a lot of my free time because of that, and studying and ugh I'm just so sorry. I promise updates will become more frequent especially since my Thanksgiving break is next week. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this little chapter. After not writing for so long it was hard to come up with an idea for it, so I'm sorry if it sucks.. eh heh heh .. (*'>д<) so don't forget to comment and vote!
