Chapter 13: Priorities
Your P.O.V.:
Despite everything that had happened yesterday, you and Yukine had woken up to a normal morning.
It was peaceful, with the window cracked open just a bit, and the calm chirping of the birds outside.
The sun's rays had hit the perfect spot, settling on your and Yukine's resting bodies.
Though, you hadn't woken up first.
Your eyes fluttered open to see the blonde haired boy coupled with his wide sunset orbs.
You giggled weakly.
"Are you gonna stare at me like that everytime we sleep together?" You asked him with tired (e/c) eyes.
"U-uh no. You just.. look kinda cute when you sleep. That's all." He stuttered, turning away from you suddenly and pulling the blanket over his head in an embarrased frenzy.
"Only kinda..? Well that sucks. I think you're cute all the time." You said with a smirk, knowing that would catch his attention.
His head peeked from under the cover and his eyes were drawn directly to the smirk spread thinly across your face.
"You always tease me," He growled, stuffing his head back into the pillows.
You laughed again, sitting up as you rubbed your eyes.
It was weird. After all that happened yesterday, you and Yukine were able to wake up and have normal mornings as if nothing ever happened.
There was still a soreness there though, and there were plenty of things you had on your to-do list.
You carefully moved over Yukine, suddenly in a rush to get dressed and out into the open.
"Where are you going?" Yukine asked you with a muffled voice through the pillows.
"You should be asking yourself that question too. We have things to take care of." You said, placing your hands on your hips.
He groaned, and when his head rose from the collection of pillows, the groaning was accompanied by an annoyed expression.
You raised your eyebrow while tapping your foot impatiently.
"Alright, alright I'm gettin' up." Yukine moaned, thrashing his body underneath the covers in a lazy fight to fully wake up.
You smiled, content with yourself, off to start with your daily morning duties.

As soon as you took care of a shower, a small breakfest of a granola bar, and very very small talk with Daikoku and Kofuku, you and Yukine were off to finish your tasks.
While Yato would be an excellent chaperone, he was still resting. His wounds still weren't quite healed, and he didn't need to get himself hurt rushing off into battle again.
"So... where are we going first?" You questioned Yukine, who strolled casually beside you.
He seemed to be deep in thought but after no more than a few minutes, his face fell and so did his posture.
"Maybe.. we should put Suzuha to rest." He suggested.
With those words, your heart also fell, but it you knew it was the right thing to do.
Soon, you were at Suzuha's beloved cherry tree, placing flowers at the base of its trunk and a few notes that you and Yukine had quickly written in favor of Suzuha.
"Do you think he'll like it?" You asked, brushing off your jacket a bit.
Yukine nodded, smiling at the small memorial you'd both prepared.
"Don't worry. Me and (Y/n) will come by as much as we can to take care of your tree." Yukine said into the air, as if Suzuha himself was standing before the two of you.
Your eyes began to well, as you placed a watering can in front of the sacred tree.
"We're really gonna miss you," You sniffled, attempting to hold back your tears.
Yukine was also having trouble holding back his own emotions, and you both came together, hand and hand.
There the tree was, in all its glory. With its brazen stature, and pale pink petals free to flow wherever they pleased.
The notes were sealed with tiny strips of rainbow string, and you'd left the watering can for possible future visits.
The flowers were picked to the best of your ability, with only the fresh and beautiful ones making the cut.
"I know.. you probably wouldn't want us to cry.. b-but god damn it, Suzuha! You're worth crying over!"
Yukine shouted, as you squeezed eachother's hands, breaking out into tears.
It was hard to take in. Your friend, your one and only friend, had came into your life and left just like that.
Tears had stained your cheeks, and stray hairs from your bangs had stuck to the wet spots on your face, but you didn't care.
All you cared about was telling Suzuha goodbye.
A stray petal from the tree had fallen upon your face, drying one of your tears.
You breathed, pausing from sobbing so harshly.
You plucked it from your face, staring at it delicately.
You then just smiled quietly to yourself, pressing the pale petal against your chest.
"You don't have to dry my tears, Suzuha."

It was long and mournful goodbye to the grave you'd created for Suzuha, but you knew that you would see him again soon.
In the meantime, your next priority was finding where Miyu was.
Medusa's threat was set on both of your sister's and it was vital that you made sure she was protected.
So, you headed off to the first place Yukine had seen her.
He stood with the photo he'd preserved in his hands.
"Where do we go from here..?" You asked, turning your attention to him.
Yukine shook his head, looking towards the ground.
"I'm not sure where to go from here.. I have no idea where she could be." The blonde said with a tone of disappointment wavering in his voice.
You went over to comfort him, squeezing his own hand within your own.
"Hey, we'll find her. I promise." You said with an uplifting smile.
Even then, you came up with a possible lead, seeing a string of apartments just up the street.
You were searching every mailbox, knocking on doors, and just about everything else you could think of.
You'd even split up for better results, but to no avail.
You sighed in annoyance, brushing your hair back through your fingers.
"E-excuse me.. but you look kind of lost. Do you need any help?" A small voice chriped, alarming you.
You swung around to see a pair of familiar amber eyes.
How ironic.
Though, they weren't Yukine's.
"Are you talking to me?" You responded nervously, surprised that she was able to see you.
Though children and animals could see beings from the far-shore, you and Yukine weren't noticed very much.
In fact, it was rare that people actually acknowledged your presence.
She nodded, crossing her arms.
"You... you're Miyu right?" You asked nicely.
"I am.. but how fo you know my name?" She questioned, her tiny eyes squinting in distrust.
"I'm a friend of your older brother's." You spoke softly.
Her eyes widened, as her lips curled into a large smile.
"You were a friend of onii-chan's? How did he get such a pretty girl to be his friend?"
You giggled at this, holding out your hand to her.
"Miyu... Is it okay if I show you something?"
She hesitated, cautiosly eyeing your palm.
"How do I know I can trust you?"
She is pretty clever.
"I can't say that you can trust me right away.. after all, we just met. But I do keep my promises. And I promise I have something important to show you."
She eyed you for a bit longer, before she placed her tiny hand within your own.
"Alright.. let's go."
