Ding Dong You Were Wrong
*Alright guys I'm FINALLY back, I thought it was about time I got back on my bullshit. I'm so sorry this chapter took so long, I've just been dealing with a few things lately and not feeling the best, but I'm better now and I feel like I can finally give you guys some quality ass content(ish) Gilbert POV*
Elizabeth's house was only around a block away so I got there pretty quickly. I was generally not in the mood to be around her and her obsessive fangirling at the moment, despite how close we were.
I sighed and knocked on the door, like always, she answered almost immediately.
"Gilbert! I didn't know you were coming over." she said, surprised.
"Yeah no shit, Lizzy, I didn't tell you." I rolled my eyes and ran a hand through my hair. "Can I stay the night? Lovino and Toni are currently fucking on our couch and apparently Feli and Ludwig are hanging out too."
Eliza's eyes widened and she grabbed my hand and pulled me inside.
"I'm sorry did you just say Lovi and Toni were fucking?! How do you know?"
"Christ Liz how much of an idiot do you think I am? I eavesdrop for like ten minutes when I'm leaving those two alone, do you know me at all?" I stated, unzipping my giant jacket and hanging it over the coat rack.
"Babe, I love you, I love that you have given me the knowledge that my OTP is cannon, but that's a bit creepy." Elizabeta deadpanned *Btw I'm giving Eliza a small trait that I have of calling my people babe*
I elbowed her lightly and made my way to her living room, "Says the chick who suggested I kill my crush's husband."
Eliza shot me a glare, rubbing her shoulder.
"How did that go anyway? You saw him today right?"
I groaned, flopping down on her couch. "It was literally horrible. His husband basically gloated about having a better and more stable job than me, and the fact that he got Matt, like jesus christ man do I need any more patronising? Not to mention it was super awkward."
"Regretting not taking my advice and killing him now?" she laughed, sitting next to me.
"Just a bit. But Matthew is happy with this guy and I'm not gonna ruin that for him just because he's a massive prick."
"So I'm assuming there's not gonna be a second meeting then?"
"Oh you bet your ass there will be. I might never get to be with Matthew but I'm sure as hell not letting Caleb keep me away from him."
Eliza snorted, in (as Rodrich always said) a very unlady-like fashion, and slapped my back. "I'm going to go make dinner, don't hurt yourself pinning while I'm doing that."

*still Gilbert*
The next morning I woke up to my alarm for work buzzing.
UGHGGH
Eliza wasn't even working this shift with me, she would be getting there as I was leaving.
I dragged myself off the couch and changed into the spare clothes I had brought along.
I didn't really bother grabbing breakfast, I just had coffee and left.
The day was pretty uneventful, apart from that one customer who made a massive fuss over the fact that her batista and several facial piercings, which was not new, there was almost always some middle aged person who got pissed off by the fact that I had piercings. (because God forbid someone be unique and have their own creative way of expressing themselves)
No the day really started going downhill while I was chatting with the other girl working with me today, Kayla.
The girl liked me, it wasn't much of a secret, but today in particular she seemed to be extra flirty.
At this point she had mostly become a mild inconvenience and a bit of a nuisance so I mostly just ignored her and gave half assed answers to her stupid questions.
Anyway, while we were 'chatting' the bell rang.
I was so relieved to have a way out of the conversation that I had to actually restrain myself from vaulting over the counter and thanking this person on my knees.
My relief was cut short when I noticed it was Caleb standing at the door.
I felt all of the blood drain from my face as he walked up to the counter.
"Carmel latte with whip and a double espresso. And make it snappy. I got places to be."
Caleb finally looked up from his phone and saw me standing in front of him.
He looked me ip and down then made a face. "Oh it's you." he sighed and rubbed his temples, "Look I don't like you. I might've had to pretend for Matthew but he's not around right now so he can't do anything about it. Let me make this perfectly clear Gilbert, I don't want you anywhere near my husband. Matthew may not know what you're up to but I definitely do and I will not let you get away with it."
What do I say to that? Technically I'm not allowed to argue with customers but I can't just sit there.
"I'm sorry what exactly am I up to?"
Caleb practically growled at me. "You know Exactly what you're doing. Matt is already defending you and taking your side over mine, it's only a matter of time before he's running off with you."
Whoah what?
I mean sure, I'm 110% in love with Matthew but there was no way I was ever gonna steal him.
I sighed, trying to keep myself as neutral looking as possible. "I think you need to stop being so possessive over him. Does he have any friends besides you, or am I special?"
Caleb snarled again and his glare intensified.
"Is it any of your business? Matthew doesn't need anyone else."
Before I could say anything else, Kayala coughed and awkwardly set the drinks on the counter. "One carmle latte with whip cream and one double espresso for Caleb Brooks." she squeaked out.
Caleb took the drinks and shot me another glare before turning and leaving.
