I walked into there house where I was greeted by a young boy "are you going to be staying here with us" he said with stars in his eyes. I looked at him weirdly before answering "no but I will be visiting from time to time as those where the agreements me and garnet came to terms on" I said sitting on a stool. "Ooo so you're gonna come with us and do lots of cool gem stuff" he said excitedly I sighed before giving him a small smile "maybe I'm not sure as of now" just then a short gem with long white hair came in " What's up Ste-man I'm going to Funland you coming with or what" Steven got excited and happily agreed "you want to come to uhhhh" the purple gem called out " you must be amethyst " I said ignoring her question momentarily "my name is k and thank you but no thanks I'm waiting on Pearl and garnet. " i said slouching over at how long it was taking them. "Hmm well catcha later" she said walking with Steven out the door who was chanting Funland. A few moments later garnet and Pearl warped in. "Hello sorry to keep you waiting. " garnet spoke. "Ah yes the preparations are ready Pearl said after garnet. I raised my eyebrow confused. "What are you talking about" I sat up " OH MY GOD YOUR NOT GOING TO EXTERMINATE ME ARE YOU" I said jumping from my sit worried. Pearl sighed "oh honestly" and stood back on the warp "no we are going to test your fighting skills. We need to asset what abilities you do absolutely not have if your going to be a crystal gem" she said flatly. I walked up to the warp pad standing between the two gems "why didn't you just say that at first" I sighed rolling my eyes.

"Alright we will first test your hand to hand combatant skills"

(Before i go any further k is just a human for the first part of the story don't expect any extraordinary powers to just magically appear)

"I'm personally not good with hand to hand combat but that's where garnet comes in" Pearl said sitting down. We where in the sky arena. I wasn't to thrilled about it neither since I had an irrational fear of heights. But I pushed it aside considering it didn't feel like I was very high up. Garnet summoned her gauntlets but after reconsideration she decided it best to just use her hands. I didn't have much supernatural strength but I was a great street fighter and took many karate, jujitsu and ninjutsu classes. I was confident that I would land at least a few punches. "Ready when you are" garnet said she didn't put up much of a fighting stance
'Did she take this as a joke' I started my stance and then dashed for her. Thanks to track and running every other day I was incredibly fast. Well faster then the average human but maybe not as fast as an intergalactic space rock but still. She braced herself as I dashed towards her I quick stepped to the side and jumped up in the air drawing my punch. She stopped my punch with the palm of her hand. And I quickly bounced back. Next I decided a straight forward attack and headed straight for her I punched left and then right she blocked both and then punched me. She landed it on my face I refused to look away and grabbed her hand punching her in hers.
(So just imagine us standing there with our fist smushed into each other's faces refusing to let either be moved)
" you're not taking this seriously" she said stepping back. I stepped back as well. She packed quite the punch but I could tell she was holding back. "Why should I take this seriously when you're the one holding back" I yelled "I'm holding back for your safety" she replied back, reverting back to her original stance. I dashed towards her once again this time giving it my all I side stepped from left to right and then plunged past her stopping then turning to punch her she dodged and I came at her again. "That's more like it" she said dodging again

Pearl's P.O.V

For a human she was doing remarkably well. She was matching dare I say surpassing garnets time and speed. I was beginning to get excited. I remembered to note and analyze her skill sets. She was very adapt at her fighting skill. Though she didn't look like she could pull off the moves she did. She reminded me of myself. I felt a smile creep upon my face as I stared in awe.

"Well that was truly remarkable umm" she stopped and I had released that amethyst and Steven where the only one who knew my name. "K" I mumbled "my name is k" I said Pearl gave me a confused look " one letter" she put her hand on her face "these human names just get shorter and shorter" I giggled at her response "k is just a nickname I have." I said grabbing a towel to wipe off with "what's your given name" Pearl asked I looked off "I'd prefer not to say" but reassured "but maybe one day I will" garnet took a seat "alright Pearl I believe it's your turn" Pearl turned to look at me "alright i will analyze and asset your swordsman ship. I smiled swords was right up my alley. I was good with swords and knives and well anything sharp at that matter. She handed me a typical sparing knife. I looked at it confused "what's wrong k, if you don't know how to use one I will happily train you" she said with a slight frown I held up the sword "it's not that....its just....really......light. This isn't the swords I'm use to using." I said frowning upon the light sword. "Well what sword are you use to" she asked "umm of you give me an hour or two I can home and grab mine I'd much rather use that one anyway" Pearl looked at garnet and back at me "very well" she said "but hurry back" she continued.
