Innocence
Alex:
"I'll only be gone like, an hour or less, okay? If you need anything I'll have my phone on Lex. Promise you'll call if you need anything?"
I watch Jack ramble as he walks around the buss looking for his wallet.
"Uh, Jack?" I say, holding up his wallet and giggling.
He stands there and turns around in a circle before looking up at me and focusing.
"Oh." He says before walking over to the couch where I'm sitting.
"Thanks Alex." He says, smiling widely before engulfing me in a hug.
His hugs are always the best. I've always wondered how anyone could give so many reassurances just by hugging you.
"Jacky?"
"What?"
"You're gonna be late, and you know how Tony gets."
He jumps away from the hug and winks at me before rushing away.
I smile as Jack runs off the tour buss to meet Pierce The Veil for lunch.
I just ate so I decided to stay behind.
A breeze blows into the bus before Jack shuts the door and I catch a chill.
Brrrr.
I walk back to the bunks and grab the first hoodie I see.
I lay back on the couch and I realize that it's Jack's hoodie.
Oooooh. Not only is it Jack's hoodie, but it's the one he never let's me wearrrrr.
I mean it's mostly because he's always wearing it.
Hm.
I reach into the pockets and feet something phone sized.
Oh wait! Jack left his phone!
I unlock it, (we're bros, of course I know his pass code) and am about to open a new message to vic when something in his messages catches my eye.
There are five conversations on the screen, each with a different person.

I click on the his messages to his dad.
Yes, I know these are private but Jack never likes to talk about his family, so seeing that he was recently in contact with his father made me curious! And who can blame me for that?
I scroll to the bottom of the conversation and start reading.
Dad: You have to reply eventually.
Jack: Sorry, I've been busy.
Dad: Well?
Jack: "Well", what?
Dad: Did you get better?
Better? Was he sick?
Jack: It's not that easy dad.
Dad: This has been going on for months Jack, you have to get better or your mother will be upset.
Jack: I know dad. It took me years to get over my first, "phase", why can't you give me time on this one?
What "phase"?
Dad: You know this is worse Jack. We'll discuss it. Whatever you do, don't let this start affecting your career or the people around you. They don't deserve to be brought down.
Jack: Alright dad. I won't.
Dad: Next time I hear from you you'd better be making progress, otherwise I don't want to hear from you.
Jack: Sorry dad.
I look when this conversation was... Last night?!
I decide that Jack needs his phone so I can ponder over this later.
Just as I'm typing a message to Vic, Jack runs back back onto the buss.
"Hey Alex I left my," he looks over and I hold out his phone, "phone..." He finishes laughing.
He thanks me and runs back out the door.
What's wrong with Jack?
