29 || Arrow?? More like my oddly dressed shrink

A/N: Funny enough I have more of the next chapter written than this one XD

it took a while for this, but there's nothing that can't be done when listening to BLACKPINK and BTS mashups

"So why do you guys call them metahumans anyway?" Oliver asks, taking a bite of his burger. After Barry whizzed away, Oliver took me out for a burger, and something along the lines of an intervention, which I did not realize I needed.

"Cisco was one who came up with it," I answer. "It was just so that we were able to classify any mysterious attacks with people who have powers from the S.T.A.R. Labs explosion instead of just a normal crime that we're both used to."

"You do realize how dangerous that is right?"

"Adding yet another category to divide the people, yeah I know." I murmur. "It wasn't the best option but I don't know what else we could have done. What would you do?"

"No idea." He responds.

"Uh huh, then don't lecture me," I say, the rest of my words getting muffled by my food. "We're doing the best we can out here."

"Eat your food." He mocks and I kick his shin from under the table.

"Rude."

"Wimp."

"OWw...." I yelp knowing there's gonna a bruise there. But feeling my phone buzz against my side, I whip it out to find a text from Felicity instead of checking the damage on my shin.

"I'm going to murder his sorry speedster ass," I grumble and meet Oliver's confused gaze before speeding out of the restaurant straight to S.T.A.R. Labs.

"Speedsters." He mumbles to himself before sighing and taking another bite of his burger.

I burst into the entrance of the Cortex, finding Felicity, Barry, and Caitlin in the med bay.

"Why the hell didn't anymore call me?!" I exclaim, causing Caitlin to nearly drop her tablet in shock.

"I had it handled."

"I just got a text message in mostly caps, Barry, I wouldn't consider that having it handled."

"Who-"

"I did." Felicity interrupts and Barry's angry gaze whips to her direction. "Don't give me that look, Rani deserved to know."

Barry looks like he's about to snap at her but I cut him off, doing my best to try and hold in my fury.

"It's...it's fine, are you at least okay?"

"I'm fine."

That was convincing. I glance over to Caitlin who nods and starts examining Barry's eyes once more.

"Well, there's no signs of macular damage. Your retina and cornea seem unaffected," she observes.

"I told you, I'm fine," Barry whines a little aggressively.

"You said Bivolo whammied you," Felicity states nervously. "No desire to go MMA on any of us?"

"No," Barry says and I raise an eyebrow. "Yeah, I mean, something weird happened with his eyes for a sec."

"Weird thing?" Caitlin asks.

"Yeah, everything went red."

"You were right," Felicity breathes and Caitlin nods.

"Look, obviously his powers didn't work on me, so..."

next thing you know, Bivolo was gone." He almost growls.

"I don't care that Rani's acting okay with this," Caitlin interrupts frustratedly. "It was stupid for you to go out there alone. You take too many risks. As fast as you are, that's going to catch up with you."

"Caitlin, I'm not Ronnie," He retorts and I stand there in shock, fists immediately clenching and suddenly I can't breathe.

So much for holding in my anger.

"You gotta stop treating me like I am."

"You're right. You're not," She sighs, meeting my gaze. "Maybe I'm just trying to make sure you don't end up the same way."

She excuses herself from the room and there's just dead silence in the cortex for a moment.

You know what? Screw it. That's when I charge.

"Okay! Hold up!" Felicity says, quickly catching me and holding me back before I can speed in Barry's direction. "Deep breaths Rani! Come on!"

"You can talk whatever shit you want about me and shut me out all you want like you have for the past week I don't care." I seethe. "Mention my brother like that again? You'll be dead to me Allen."

Felicity lets me go and I speed out of the Cortex far from everyone who witnessed my outburst. Felicity sighs, before glancing up at Barry.

"What?"

"You're a lovable dummy most of the time Barry," She sighs before looking him dead in the eyes. "But that was uncalled for."

"I'm just being honest."

"That wasn't honesty Barry, that...was something far worse."

Barry sighs before his phone starts to buzz and he yanks it out.

"It's Oliver, he wants to have another session."

"Well, I'm sure he's not going to shoot you again"

He too speeds out of the Cortex, leaving it and the tension alone with Felicity.

"Even though you might deserve it this time." She mumbles to herself finding a seat behind the nearest computer. "Barry Allen acting like a douchebag, I guess there's a first time for everything."

》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》

Oliver flinches at my sudden arrival and walks over to find me squaring up with a punching bag.

"How did you know Barry was just here?" He questions.

"The hypermetabolism that I have causes my brain cells to fire faster than a regular person's," I snark between punches. "Clairvoyance is a side effect of superspeed."

In one final huff of anger, I slam my fist into the bag with as much force as my body can produce, tearing through the outside fabric.

"Wait really?" He asks and I pull out of my furious daze, chuckling a bit.

"No, Ollie that was sarcasm. I came here to hit something, not see Barry."

"I can never be too sure seeing you have....powers," He huffs. "Felicity told me that Barry went after Bivolo. That have something to do with your disregard for your own safety?" He asks, gesturing my hands.

I glance down to realize that in my excitement to release my anger, I forgot to wrap my hands which currently have blood dripping from my split wrists.

"Shit, I didn't...." I murmur, looking back at Oliver, who has that same look on his face I've seen too many times in Starling.

Understanding.

Ollie and I didn't start off as friends but he, much like Ronnie, found a place in my heart. He might never have opened up as much as Ronnie did with me, but he was there if I ever needed to talk.

He grabs some bandages from god knows where and starts wrapping my hands up.

"Did Barry do something?" He asks and I sigh, knowing that I let my anger get the best of me.

"Somewhat. He mentioned Ronnie.....in a not so nice way."

Oliver nods for me to continue and I sigh, resting against the wall. "Barry didn't insult him or anything... it's just.....I told you how I was back in high school. I never cared if anyone talked shit about me but the moment they said something about Ronnie......"

"You snapped." He finishes.

"I snapped," I repeat shakily nod, tears starting to sting my eyes.

"Hey come here," he says, pulling me into a hug.

"I thought he was different," I murmur into Oliver's chest.

"Have a little faith Rani."

"What are you talking about?"

"You said that...I can't believe I'm saying this." He sighs and I raise an eyebrow. "That metahuman made people angry right?"

I frown, realizing what he's implying "But Caitlin cleared him. There was no residual damage...I was there."

Oliver looks away in thought, in silent disagreement.

"Ollie, did something happen while he was here?"

"I've never seen him this angry or irrational. And I haven't even known him that long."

"Neither have I."

"Something's telling me that's a lie," He teases and I finally let a small smile grace my face.

"Thanks, Ollie."

"Anytime."

My phone buzzes and we pull away from each other.

"Joe....." I mumble, sliding answer on the phone. "Hello?"

"Rani? Thank god...have you seen Barry recently? I was intheprescientandSingh-"

"Joe, I need you to slow down," I say, sending a worried glance to Oliver who can no doubt hear the entirety of our conversation.

"Okay," he says before taking what sounds like a deep breath. "Barry came to the prescient and was furious with everything. He snapped at Singh which didn't go over well and when I tried to comfort him he yelled at me too. I don't know where he is now but his eyes...Rani his eyes....they were glowing red for a second."

"He was affected." I murmur, a pit of dread and guilt forming in my stomach. He wasn't in control of himself. And I was ready to fight him without a second thought. "Have you called S.T.A.R. Labs yet?" I ask pulling anxiously on the edge of my bandages.

"Yeah, I'm on my way there right now. Look I don't know what he's said to you or what Wells has against you, but we need you right now Rani."

"Don't worry Joe," I say, nodding to Oliver. "I'll be there."

  》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》

"Do we have a plan?" I ask as I enter the cortex, finding Cisco, Caitlin, Joe, Felicity and Dr. Wells already deep in conversation.

"About twelve percent of a plan," Cisco mumbles and I'm forced to hold in a snort.

Bless you and your Marvel references Cisco.

"Not the time." Joe reprimands and Cisco shrugs.

"It's not inaccurate though. We can find him if he walks into a path of a security camera, but that's it."

"Rani, you can hold him off on your own right?" Joe questions and I shrug.

Of course, I can.....but there's something I need from Joe and Wells first. If I can't get Wells to trust me, then I'll get him to trust someone close enough.

"I don't know," I lie. "I'm getting used to these powers but Barry's more experienced with them compared to I am. I've always worked with a team."

I glance over at Dr. Wells and meet his gaze unwaveringly. "I'm going to need back up."

He glances away and I do my best to hide my smirk.

Your move asshole.

"A cold-gun would come in real handy right about now," Cisco says, more to himself and Joe gives him a look.

"Hey!"

"I'm just saying!"

"None of us can stop...Barry," Dr. Wells says. "Not alone at least."

He sighs, almost like he's scolding himself before looking up at Felicity and me.

"Fortunately, you two know someone who can. I think you better call back Oliver Queen. We're gonna need The Arrow's help."

My eyes widen as Felicity and I glance at each other.

"Did you tell him?!"

"Of course not, did you?!"

"I didn't either!!"

    》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》

"Any sign of him?" Felicity asks as I speed through the city. "I hope this works."

"Negative, but Barry will show," I respond. "I've done a perimeter of the city and working my way into Ollie's viewing area now."

"I've got nothing either for now."

"What happened? Was he too quick for those old eyes?" I tease and I can almost hear his eye roll.

"Just like old times," I mumble to myself weaving in and around traffic.

"Facial recognition picked him up on a traffic camera downtown," Felicity exclaims. "...oh, God. You two need to get there quick."

"Let me talk him down first," I say.

"Rani-" Oliver's voice-modulated tone growls.

"I have to try! I'm not giving up on him." I respond skidding to a stop behind him...Iris and Eddie.

Oh god.

" You don't know me!" Barry screams, still glowering at Eddie and I wince. I've never seen him this angry before and never want to again. "You don't know who I am. You never did."

"But I do," I speak up all three pairs of eyes whip in my direction and I walk up to him slowly, past Iris, a hand to the side gesturing for her to stay back. Thankfully Barry's trick on vibrating his vocal chords and face wasn't too hard to pick up.

"Flare..." She murmurs, and I give her a weak smile before turning back to Barry.

"You're angry."

"I'm fi-"

"That metahuman is messing with your head!" I say cutting him off. "You are not fine! He's playing with your emotions and pulling something out that isn't you."

"I know that you have risked your life to help people," Iris adds. "To save them! Someone who does that does not suddenly turn around and want to hurt people."

"Please." She mumbles and I carefully take a couple more steps towards him.

Then everything slows down.

Barry whips around and I sprint towards him and tackle him out of the way before he hit Eddie.

We tumble over each other, quickly rising to our feet. I stand protectively in front of the two praying that Barry can fight this.

"You didn't give up on me," I say. "I'm not giving up on you. You can fight this."

"Or I can fight you." He seethes back, before slamming his fist into my nose.

I stumble back a couple steps, reeling in shock as a warm trickle of blood starts dripping from my nose.

"Rani?" Oliver asks. "You done playing around?"

I sigh, standing up a little straighter. "Alright then. Plan B."

Barry looks over at me confused and I shrug, as two wires secure themselves around his waist.

"You need to calm down," Oliver says, suddenly standing before us.

Barry almost smirks at his sudden appearance. "And you need to hold on."

Barry starts off into the opposite direction, dragging Oliver behind him.

"We've stalled for as long as we can, I hope you guys have a plan," I say into my comm staying put for the moment.

"Don't worry Rani we've got a plan," Felicity reassures. "Go help Oliver, please."

"Copy that." I respond before glancing over at Eddie and Iris who continue to stand back, fearful expressions on their face.

"You two better get out of here in case he comes back," I say walking over to pick up a discarded object on the road.

"What's wrong with him?" Iris asks, helping Eddie up.

"That metahuman from the bank messed with his head," I say, sadly, walking to Eddie, handing him his gun. "Forced anger into him and its not going away. If I noticed sooner this wouldn't have happened."

"You should have left him for the police!" Eddie spits and I sigh.

He takes the gun,  so at least there's that.

"With great power comes great power," I say. "I'm not about to stand by when I can help, otherwise what's the point?"

"Of having powers?" Iris questions.

"Of living," I respond with a slight smile. "I've been helping out long before I ever got powers."

With that I sprint away, asking Felicity for instructions to where Barry and Oliver are.

"Okay take a le-" She starts saying when something strikes my chest hard. The force sends me airborne and I slam side-first into a wall.

Ooof. There go my ribs.

"Looking for me?" Barry's voice says and I shakily pull myself up. My vision swims and I shake my head, trying to rid the sight of three Flash's in front of me.

"You...you could say that," I respond.

Barry swings and me and I barely dodge. I might be more skilled, but there's only so much I can do with the throbbing pain in my side.

"You're getting sloppy Raymond."

"Now now....don't we know better than to reveal my identity." I snark back. I swing my foot out, kicking him right in the chest.

He loses balance and tumbles to the ground and I jump on the advantage and pin him down.

The sound of an arrow flying pierces the night and I roll out of its path, wincing as it pierces Barry in the shoulder.

Oliver lands beside me, sending a worried glance in my direction before focusing on Barry.

"2000 milligrams of horse tranquilizer should be hitting you any time now," Oliver remarks as Barry writhes on the ground.

He yanks out the arrow and for a moment looks like he's about to give in.

But that moment ends just as quickly as it came. Barry shakily stands and starts vibrating himself as fast as he can, the tranquilizer harmlessly diffusing away.

"Did you know he could do that?" Oliver asks a little meekly.

"Nope," I respond, equally worried. "Are we in over our heads?"

"We always are, but I'd hate to stop now."
