6- Starting Today...
Truth or dare had long been over now and everyone split up to go home. Meadow took a deep breath as she spotted Lloyd down the street up ahead. She quickened her pace to catch up with him.
Here goes nothing....
"Hey uh, L-Lloyd? Can I talk to y-you for a second...?" Meadow stuttered. Lloyd stopped in his tracks, turning around.
"Yes?"
Meadow started fidgeting and shifted her weight.
C'mon Meadow, you can do this!
"Um, well I uh wanted to ask you....do you want to um, hangout at, like, a r-restaurant tonight uh you don't have to, if you don't want to...." Meadow squeaked.
That was stupid....
"A-are you asking....do you mean like a d-date?" Lloyd asked, quite surprised by this sudden question. Meadow slowly nodded, looking down, feeling worry and doubt and shame all build up over her.
"S-sure! Um, what time?" Lloyd smiled shyly, never being asked out before.
"When are you free?" Meadow asked.
"6:30 sound good?" Lloyd asked. Meadow just nodded.
"I'll meet you at your place."

Lloyd was now on the phone with Kai. Freaking out to him nonetheless.
"I've never been asked on a date before!" Lloyd screamed into the phone.
"Dude, chill out. You're going to give me a headache." Kai winced.
"What am I supposed to wear?" Lloyd felt his heart racing. This was happening so suddenly, he wasn't sure if he was going to go through with this.
"Don't sweat it, I gotcha. Be over in five."
Kai came over soon, trying to choose clothes out of Lloyd's closet. They had been trying on outfit after outfit. Which Lloyd had somehow gotten into some weird sombrero outfit.
"Shouldn't I be wearing something more casual?" Lloyd glared as he took the hat off.
"I mean, we could go with the first option." Kai shrugged smugly.
"For the last time Kai, I'm not going shirtless!" Lloyd yelled and tore off the poncho over his shoulders.
"Fine just wear this." Kai rolled his eyes as he pulled a plain white shirt with blue jeans. Lloyd went into the closet to change and then went out to look at himself in the mirror.
"I....actually like this." Lloyd said as he looked at himself in the mirror.
"Of course. I got my taste in clothes. Now here." Kai handed him a green flannel to put over the shirt.
"Thanks for helping me, Kai." Lloyd smiled.
"You're welcome, now you better get going, Meadow's probably already downstairs waiting." Kai told him.
"How did you-" Lloyd started but then got cut off.
"I have my ways. Good luck and go get her." Kai winked.
Lloyd left his apartment and took a deep breath. Heh headed out of the building and saw Meadow, who was smiling shyly. She had wore her usual mint bow, a purple and white shirt that said "HI!", a mint skirt with black leggings underneath and purple flats.
"Meadow! You look...amazing!" Lloyd gasped at the sight of her. Blushing slightly at her.
"You t-too!" Meadow stuttered.
"A-are you ready to go...?" Lloyd asked quite nervously. Meadow only nodded and bit her lip. They headed out onto the streets of Ninjago City.
"So where should we go?" Lloyd asked her date.
"Um well I'm not exactly sure. But how about some boba as we walk?" Meadow suggested. Lloyd nodded in agreement.
They (and by they I mean Meadow) went into a boba tea shop and Meadow got herself a green tea boba and a strawberry for Lloyd.
As the two walked, Lloyd noticed something peculiar about Meadow. More so on the way she drank her boba. Her arms parallel to each other as both of her small hands went around the cup, just barely touching each other.
So cute..... Lloyd thought to himself, blushing at such a thought. Lloyd then looked ahead of himself to all the restaurants on the street.
"I don't think we're going to find anywhere to eat since y'know....I'm Lloyd Garmadon." Lloyd said as they walked down the streets of restaurants, who closed their doors as the two walked on.
"I guess you're right. We could just head on over to the park." Meadow suggested. She took Lloyd's hand and then ran up ahead with Lloyd tagging along. They both laughed as they followed each other. People on the streets looked at the two weirdly.
Once they got to the park, they panted from all that running. They glanced at each other and then turned away grinning. Meadow started laughing carefree from it all. Lloyd felt his heart skip a beat at the sight of Meadow's face full of joy.
"I surprisedly enjoyed that quite a lot." Meadow giggled when her laughing died down.
"Yeah....same." Lloyd admitted, feeling heat rising up in his ears.
"Y'know since we couldn't really eat earlier, how about going to a hotdog stand or ice cream or something like that?" Lloyd suggested. Since their wasn't that many options out in the park.
"I'd love that. Thank you." Meadow slightly bowed her head in respect and admiration. The two walked on the path in the park, until a hot dog stand came into view, which they took advantage of to get some food. They walked on until they found a place to sit. And empty bench under some cherry blossom trees. They both ate and talked about each other and their lives.
"Lloyd, can I ask you a serious question? You don't have to answer if you don't want to." Meadow asked Lloyd. Lloyd, who just swallowed the last of his food, nodded.
"What's it like being Garmadon's son?" Meadow asked.
"Well, if I'm being honest. It's terrible. The guilt only builds up. I can't go anywhere without people looking at me and whispering behind my back. It's hard to ignore it all, cause you just know it's not your fault but yet that's just-" Meadow looked at him understandingly.
"How it's meant to be." both Meadow and Lloyd ended off. Lloyd looked at Meadow surprised, who was now fiddling with her hair nervously. She decided to ask him something else.
"Why did you say yes to me?" Meadow caught him off guard. Lloyd blushed hard and scratched the back on his neck awkwardly.
"Well, I-I like spending time with you a lot. You've been helping me go through so much and I guess I wanted to get to know you better." Lloyd's started getting sweaty from what he was about to say next.
"I-I guess what I'm saying is I l-like you......a lot! More than a friend!" He blurted out. His confession. He pulled on the collar of his shirt in an attempt to hide his face. Meadow just smiled and placed her hand on his.
"I-I do too...." She had blushed as well, giving Lloyd's hand a light squeeze. Lloyd turned to look at her. She bit her lip, her hair hiding her face. Lloyd didn't know what came over him but he bent down and kissed Meadow's cheek quickly before turning away.
"You missed." Meadow claimed.
"What? N-no I didn-"
Lloyd got cut off my Meadow's lips crashing onto his. He felt time stop in that moment. He was surprised at this but didn't pull away, his eye flickered closed as he kissed back, embracing the moment. Her lips were soft on his. He put his hands behind her back while Meadow put hers behind his neck. Sadly, they had to part for air. They seemed a bit dazed until when they finally came to their senses, they both stared wide eyed at each other.
"Lloyd! I am so so sorry! I-I don't know why I did that!"
"N-no! M-Meadow! It's fine. Strangely I actually enjoyed it." Lloyd blushed.
"Y-yeah same here." Meadow stuttered.
"Mind if I walk you home?" Lloyd offered. Meadow shyly nodded.
