Yuito POV:

How could everything go so wrong? We've done everything we could to stop her. The Titans themselves gave their lives for us. But in the end, we lost, she won, and no Human nor Faunus are left alive, only the Grimm, me, and HER.

I held onto my sister, crying my eyes out after she said three words.

I love you.

I kept crying and holding onto her for dear life while next to the device holding the girl she wasn't able to wake. I hear someone walking toward me and I grit my teeth in anger seeing the person who ruined my life.

Salem!

Salem: (Smirks) Such a shame, after all you've been through, after all the obstacles you faced, only to fail in the end.

I say nothing and only glare at her. I see the Grimm surrounding me ready to attack.

Salem: I would love to stay and chat but I have things to do. (To the Grimm) Kill him.

The Grimm charge at me. I close my eyes and tears roll down my face.

Yuito: (Thoughts) I should just let them kill me. I have nothing left. I lost everything.

I look at the body in my arms and began to sob.

Ruby

I then look at the device containing the girl.

Yuito: You were... our last... chance!

I then slam my hand on the device and I have a vision of being in a strange place. It was so beautiful, The sky was blue, and I saw grass, and I could see the sun, it was so peaceful. I also heard a bell in the distance, I thought I finally died. I then see the tree with the girl standing next to it.

Yuito: Ah, excuse me?

???: It's such a mournful sound...

Yuito: Huh?

???: It hasn't stopped. Not... Not in all these years...

Yuito: Hasn't stopped... You mean that bell sound? Is the Praetorium somewhere nearby? Uh... Where are we?

???: This is... Elysium. The land where, long ago, the new mankind lived in harmony with their creator. It's where... "We" were born.

Yuito: What?!

I look in the distance and see houses and a church across the lake. I look at the girl and see something on her dress.

Yuito: Is that a Core Crystal? You're a... Blade?

???: My name is Pyra.

Yuito: I'm...

Pyra: I know you. You're Yuito Rose, right? Although some people call you "Rex" because you look more like a "Rex" to them than a "Yuito".

Yuito: How did you know my name?

Pyra: Just now, when we came into contact.

Yuito: So, I guess I finally died... Where is everyone?

Pyra: You didn't die... But you don't have much time before the Grimm reach you.

I drop to my knees and hit the ground.

Yuito: I should just let them. I've got nothing left. My world is a lifeless rock now.

Pyra: You can still beat Salem.

Yuito: How?! She can't be killed.

Pyra: I can grant you the power to break her immortality.

Yuito: R-really?

Pyra: Yes, but...

She walks up to me while covering her crystal with her hand.

Pyra: Yuito, I have a request.

I then look at Pyra.

Pyra: Can you... take me to Elysium?

Yuito: Elysium...? But... isn't that here?

Pyra: This world is merely a memory. An ancient, half-forgotten memory of what once was. The real Elysium lies in your world. Atop the world tree that was hidden by the Architect.

Yuito: That does sound interesting.

Pyra: You can defeat Salem... As my Driver. As the driver of the Aegis.

Yuito: The Driver... of the Aegis?!

Pyra: What will you do?

I look around and think about what she said.

Yuito: Is this place really your home?

Pyra: It is.

Yuito: And it really exists...?

Pyra: Yuito... Rex... I know what you're thinking and you are correct. I know Remnant is dead, but. By.... coming to this place... you could revive Remnant. Bring back the life that existed.

Yuito: We... wouldn't have to live... in fear. We wouldn't need to worry about Grimm. Fine. I'm in. I'll take you to Elysium myself.

Pyra: Thank you, Yuito.

She takes her hand off her crystal.

Pyra: Now, place your hand on my chest.

Yuito: ...You mean the Core Crystal right?

Pyra: Yes... But thanks for not jumping to conclusions. One more thing, with the balance of the world broken I won't be present. You'll still have my power, I just... still won't wake up for a little while.

I look down and the ground before looking at her and nodding. I look at the Core Crystal and feel it calling for me. I place my hand on the crystal and can feel it flowing into me as Pyra kept her eyes closed. The two of us were enveloped in the Core Crystal's energy.

I return to the real world and yelled as a blast of energy came from me. Burning all the Grimm around me to Ash.

I see Salem turn towards me with a shocked expression. I gently laid Ruby on the ground and I kissed her on her forehead.

Salem: (Angry) Why do you keep fighting?!

I look at my hand while still clenching it.

Salem: How many times do I have to remind you that you're weak?! (Gestures towards the barren world) You have nothing left!

My hair covered my eyes.

Yuito: (Angry) You're wrong...

The Core Crystal appears in my hand and turns into a long red sword with fire igniting through it.

My eyes turn to silver as I look toward her.

Yuito: I STILL GOT YOU!

I dash toward Salem and she tries to blast me with her magic but I deflect them. She is surprised but forms a Grimm sword and dashes toward me as well. We lock blades but I push her back. We become locked in battle as I manage to strike Salem's left arm. She looks at it in shock that the wound isn't healing.

Salem: Wha... it's not healing?!?!

I keep attacking her and she throws whatever magic she can conjure up. I either dodge or deflect them, and I land more strikes on her back and torso. I use my Psychokinesis to pick up multiple pieces of the ground and launch them at Salem. With her exhausted and wounded for the first time in her immortal life, I decided to land the Coup-de-grace... For everyone.

I jump into the air and a manifestation of Pyra forms and lends me more power.

We struck Salem together, and she was enveloped in a blazing light.

Salem: AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

The light faded and from where Salem stood was only ash. The witch was finally gone and everyone was avenged. I look at Ruby and then toward the sky that is encased in dark clouds.

Yuito: Guys..... We did it...

I then passed out from exhaustion.

Six months later

On a cliffside, I stood in front of a gravestone. On that gravestone, it read.

But in front of that gravestone were thirteen graves with almost all of them having weapons or something important behind them.

The first one had a stick stuck to the ground with a red bandanna tied to it.

The second grave had a large sword stabbed into the ground with a red cape tied to the handle.

The third grave had a red colored katana with a Grimm mask next to it.

The fourth grave had a cane stuck to the ground.

The fifth grave had a sword and a shield stuck to the ground.

The sixth grave had a single red and gold sword stabbed into the ground.

The seventh grave had a large hammer behind it.

The eighth grave had two green blades stabbed into the ground.

The ninth grave had a single sword stabbed into the ground with a pink bow tied to the handle.

The tenth grave had a black sword/cleaver with a long black ribbon attached to the handle stabbed into the ground.

The eleventh grave had a rapier stabbed into the ground.

The twelfth grave had a single gauntlet laid in front of it with a lilac-colored bandanna.

And the last grave had a red scythe stabbed into the ground with a red cape tied to the handle.

In front of the graves lay the four relics and Pyra still in her stasis device. I know what to be expected and I'll wait. When Pyra wakes up, I'll find Elysium and take her there. I then pull out a small fragment of Azurda that I kept to remember him.

Yuito: Goodbye guys, I'll miss you all.

All of a sudden, the four relics began glowing bright and I shielded my eyes. As the light died down, I uncovered my eyes and was shocked to see the Brother Gods.

The Gods of Light and Darkness. They look at me with curiosity.

God of Light: Are you the one who brought us back?

I said nothing.

God of Darkness: My brother asked you a question!

God of Light: Enough Brother!

He backs off and his brother speaks.

God of Light: Why are you here alone child?

Yuito: (Looks down in sadness) Look around and find out.

The two brothers look at each other confused and then disappear. A few seconds later, they reappear with confusion written on their faces (if they had faces).

God of Darkness: Where is Everyone?

God of Light: I-I don't know.

The two look at the young Rose in confusion.

God of Light: What happened?

Yuito: Salem...

The two brothers were now beyond angry.

God of Darkness. That's it! Where's that witch? I'll erase her from existence.

Yuito: Don't bother, she's already gone.

The two gods calmed down knowing that the thorn in their side was finally gone.

God of Light: Why did you bring us back?

I had a sad smile whilst looking at the four relics.

Yuito: We risked our lives finding these relics. It felt right to just bring them together after a while, even though I know I'll get nothing in return.

A single tear ran down my face. The God of Light floated toward me.

God of Light: If I may child, can I see something?

I wiped away my tear and nodded. The God of light put his hand on my forehead and saw my memories. Everything I once found joy in, and everything I lost before my very eyes. I felt the sadness within him. The God of light then took his hand away.

God of Light: I will not bring your friends back from death.

Yuito: I know. They wouldn't want me to make the same mistake Salem made.

God of Light: But that doesn't mean I won't grant you Happiness.

Yuito: How?

God of Light: There's another Remnant that I can send you too. Both you and the Aegis, seeing as your life forces are linked together.

Yuito: Are there people?

God of Light: Millions.

God of Darkness: However, there is a Salem in that world as well. But you can see this as a chance to prevent all this from happening to that.

Yuito: Then that means... I can meet my friends and family even if this Remnant is different. But...

I look at the graves of all those I cared about.

Yuito: I won't be able to visit them again.

The God of Light put his hand on my shoulder.

God of Light: Take your time, child.

I took a good look at the graves and said my final goodbyes. I then returned to the two brothers and the God of Darkness approached me. Others would fear him, but I don't since there is nothing but ruin in my world.

God of Darkness: Child, there is something I want to see. Brother, if I may?

The God of Light took a second to think before nodding. The God of Darkness put his hand on my forehead and saw what his brother did. He took his hand away and said something surprising.

God of Darkness: Even after all that, you still pushed forward... for all those you loved. One person isn't enough to judge humanity, so I will give you the power to alter the other Remnant's fate. Take my hand child.

I place my hand on his and feel him blessing me with a power I've never felt.

God of Darkness: A small portion of my power. Don't waste it.

He then walked to his brother.

God of Light: Are you ready child?

Yuito: I'm ready.

The God of Light nodded and turned to his brother.

God of Light: Together Brother.

He nodded and the two put out their hands and I was covered in a bright light.

No POV:

God of Darkness: You know he will come back here one way or another to find Elysium.

God of Light: I know. The balance must be preserved even though this world is in ruins. He will find Elysium and we will give them a choice: have us walk among them, or live by themselves. We won't bring back a race that doesn't need our assistance to revive them. I hope they can finally learn.
