For Worse Or For Better Don't Rhyme
I don't own Tim and Damian, they belong to DC. Name and chapter title are from Kelsea Ballerini's 'I Hate Love Songs'. Unbeta'd.
"I know, it's stupid," Tim said, staring at the flowers on the table. "I just like the idea of Valentine's Day, and I've never really had a chance to celebrate it with anyone."
Damian frowned at the flowers. Red roses. Cliche, really.
"You are right, it is stupid." Tim's eyes widened and he stared at him.
Damian sighed and took Tim's hand, pulling him close.
When Tim had come home from WE, he had brought red roses. He had given them to Damian, along with a small, sweet kiss and a 'Happy Valentine's Day!'. Damian had informed him that he did not see the point of Valentine's Day, and one thing had led to another.
"The holiday, not you wanting to celebrate it." He kissed him lightly. "Beloved, I will always love you. Even if I do not participate in this stupid holiday," Damian said.
Tim was looking down at the floor, and Damian gently raised his chin to stare him in the eyes.
"I am sorry, I believe I have ruined today for you." Tim reached out and gently stroked his cheek, the kind of gentleness that Damian still had not gotten used to. He smiled, but Damian could tell it was fake.
"It's fine, I'm fine," He tried to reassure Damian. "I'll see you on patrol."

"Damian, where are we going? We need to get ready for patrol."
Damian had texted him, saying only 'Get dressed. Nice clothes, not jeans'. He had then shown up, in front of Tim's apartment, in one of Bruce's cars. He had gotten some stares from the neighbors as he slid into the sleek, black car.
Now Damian was driving him to God knows where when they should be on patrol.
"I have talked to Father, we have the night off." Damian turned and smirked. "I told him you were sick." Tim frowned.
"Okay, but where are we going?"
"You'll see."
Five minutes later, they pulled up outside of the nice Mexican restaurant that Tim always liked to eat at.
"Damian?" Tim asked, the barest hint of a smile starting to form.
"Did you take me to Valentine's Day dinner?" Damian scoffed and got out. Tim opened his door and stepped out. Damian had opened the trunk.
"I also got you flowers," Damian said, thrusting them towards Tim and smirking. Tim grinned and pulled him into a deep kiss.
When they separated, Damian looked down.
"I apologize for my earlier reaction," he mumbled.
Tim laughed and hugged him close.
"You are forgiven," He said. "But you're paying. And use Bruce's money."
