Chapter 3

"Rise and shine, my dear! Camille, you promised me to witness the wedding ceremony with Elias! Get a move on, honey. He's expecting." Esther said as she proceeded to unlock the windows in Camille's room to let in the fresh air.

"Oh! What a fine day!" She mentioned as she looked beyond the glass window.

"On my behalf, it is not the case, mom. I am currently strained into an arranged marriage to a German-Austrian whom I have no idea precisely, for this reason I was wrong having said that it's not a lucky day as far as I am concerned." Camille answered, plunging her face upon her pillow, pissed off.

"I don't want to view that senseless German-Austrian. He bugs me a great deal of time. I don't even know who I belonged to." Camille told her mother deliberately.

Esther wandered to her bed and crept her in the bathroom.

"You are going to that wedding rehearsal forcibly or voluntarily. I'm fatigued from catching sight of you moaning throughout the day about a lone foolish thing." Esther responded angrily.

"If I told you once, I've told you a thousand times. I am not concerned about him. Why can't I be passionate about someone who adores me? I just want to live a normal life for once, mother! I am a full-grown woman!" She yelped anxiously as she came out of the bathroom and returned to bed.

"Where do you think you're going?" Esther questioned catching sight of her daughter, bewildered.

"I'm going back to bed. I'm not going to that stupid wedding rehearsal." She said aggravated.

"Camille Rose Hathaway, be aware of your mother this very minute! The logical thought why I urged you to marry Elias is when in fact he was capable of being trusted to obtain the initiative to support you," Esther said, folding her arms over her chest convulsed.

"But mother, Elias is not my subdivision!" She responded with a repulsed look on her face.

Her mother planked herself on the stool and cried silently.

"All I want is for you to be content. I'm only doing this in your best interest, darling. The reason I put you together with Elias seeing that it's the only way that I can protect your future. And as soon as I finally received information that you acknowledged to wed him, I felt blissful and felicitous. My soul says that he is special in your favor." Her mother said with concern dripping from her eyes.

"I'm sorry I go off the deep end, mom. I didn't mean to harm you. I was just emphasized about the wedding rehearsal, Elias, and everything else I had on my mind from these past few days. You may be right, Elias might be the one for me, and I guess I was wrong the whole time." She said, feeling ashamed about what she said before.

She aimed for the bathroom and got ready. As soon as she joined her mom downstairs near her ride, she gave her a warm embrace.

"I deeply regret, mom! Please excuse my coarse demeanor." Camille said cowardly. Her mother eyed her in the eyes and grinned as she brushed her hair and nodded.

"Come on! Let's get this show on the road." Her mother laughed.

Camille got into the passenger seat and navigated to the chapel with her mother and father.

"Have you observed what I told you to do?" Esther asked as she concentrated on the roadway.

"Yes! I have to be well-mannered and avoid being naive."

"Perfect, I'm so pleased with you. Don't blow me off this time. I want you to be on your finest behavior." Her mother said as she looked at her.

"Yes, mother. I have it under control."

A few minutes later, they make it to the chapel. Esther parked their car and they got out of the vehicle, in which case paced through the entrance confidentially.

"Esther, there you are!" Maria called from a distance as she sauntered over them with a simper on her look.

"Maria! It's a pleasure to see you again. Where's your charming son?" Esther asked with a grin plastered on her visage.

"He's in the process of preparing himself. Let's have a seat whilst we expect for the bridegroom to set foot." Maria aforementioned in a gentle tone.

As they had a riveting chat among themselves, Camille waited tirelessly on behalf of Elias to appear in the chapel. She has investigated the crowd encircling her in the place of worship, conversing as well as welcoming one another in a civil manner.

"Camille, there you are.'' She found her feet and saw Elias polished in fresh apparel associated with a navy blue bowtie fastened thoroughly near his neck.

"Elias..." She whispered inaudibly.

"Wow, you look appealing. Even more appealing as per usual. Not that you don't look elegant occurring each day." He expressed tenderness queasily.

"Are you all right?" He scrutinized as he askew his head, having the hallmarks of being apprehensive.

"Hmm? Oh! Yes, I'm peachy! I am just tense." She laughed softly, looking at the ground whilst rubbing her neck.

"Oh, you don't have to be anxious. It's no more than a run-through. There's nothing to be agitated about. Over and above, the actual one is exclusively a few months away, positively you'll be exceptional." Elias grinned softly.

As they were amused at each other, the wedding march commenced to entertain in the surroundings.

"Oh, that's my cue! I'll see you on the other side of the aisle." He beamed as he began wandering to his position.

"Camille, what are you doing here? It's time to enumerate." Esther said in a desirous voice.

"Come on, get in your position! Hurry up!" She added feverishly.

Camille stood in the middle of the fully decorated wedding arch and looked at Elias, standing at the end of the aisle. She couldn't believe this was really happening.

"Thank you!" She said, twinkling at the young girl apart from her who conducted a scent of red roses in her hands.

She looked at her father and smiled.

"Just think happy thoughts." Her father said, glancing at her. She grinned and looked at her fiance, energetically beaming at the end of the aisle.

The wedding march got into the game beautifully in the situation. They began moving down the aisle heavily. Camille gripped on her father's arms, demanding not to descend. She looked at the inhabitants on her left, grinning right at her.

She looked back at her fiance and gave him a strained smile. By the time she reached at the end of the aisle, everybody sat down and remained silent. Camille got a load of Elias and didn't smile. Just then the priest started speaking: "We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments, and to cherish the words that shall unite Camille Rose Hathaway and Elias Lukas Schmidt in marriage."

"Do you, Elias, take Camille to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do!" He responded as if this was the only thing he was absolutely sure about in his life.

"And do you Camille, take Elias to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I-I do..." she stammered hesitantly.

"And by the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Elias caught a glimpse at her and inclined for a kiss. She lingered, though provided him a smooch ultimately as she recollected such as she kept a promise to her mother.

"Just imagine in another few months, you're going to be my wife." Elias said, nonchalantly.

"I can hardly wait!" She said, not implicated any word of what she just said. Everybody applauded for the bride and the groom and abandoned the chapel after the rehearsal wedding ceremony.

"Well, that wasn't so bad now, was it?" Esther grinned as they quit the chapel with Camille.

"No, it was amazing." Camille responded as she beamed at her mother tactfully.

"Come on, let's head home, and just because you're being a good girl. How about I bake you some lasagna for an evening meal at a later time?"

"That'll be great. Thanks, mom!"

Further on, Camille was in her bedroom speaking with Amy about the wedding rehearsal she had with Elias a few hours ago.

"So, how did it go?" Amy asked through the line, bewildered.

"It didn't go that well. It was uneventful. By the time we locked lips, it wasn't magical. It's like it wasn't true love. Ugh, I wish I could have a little getaway for myself! Just to ditch Elias for a moment. He irritates the crap out of me." She said, hitting her head on the pillow while tracing circles on the bed sheet, frustrated.

"I understand how you must be feeling. Let me gather my thoughts!"

"Give thought to what?"

"An easy way out for you."

"You can always go to Paris, you know?" Amy chuckled.

"That's the place where I can ditch someone for a while." Amy recommended over the line, recklessly.

"That's not a lousy idea. It's one hell of an idea, Amy!" She added.

"I didn't know you'd get so significant about it, Cam, but I'll be with you no matter what happens." Amy replied as she tried to solace Camille.

"Now, you can call me a genius."

"You've earned it, genius."

"I like the sound of that."

"Well, if you keep coming up with good thoughts then, this might be the word for you, Ames!"

As the two were talking, her mother called Camille from downstairs.

"Dinner, Camille!" Esther shouted from the kitchen.

"Oh, dinner's ready! I'll talk to you later, Ames. Bye."

"Bye, Cam!" Amy replied as Camille declined the call after which she walked out of her bedroom and came down to the cuisine.

Paul was at the dinner table indicating a newsletter in his hands whilst slurping on his cup of cappuccino peacefully. Esther then set a huge plate of lasagna before her husband fortunately.

"There you are honey, why don't you have the first bite and tell me what you think of the dish?" Esther asked as she poured herself a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon for herself. She joined her husband at the table and ate her dinner silently.

Camille showed up in the kitchen tranquilly as she sat down across her parents inconspicuously.

"Hello, love! I baked lasagna just like I promised you. Would you like some?" Esther offered as she stood up and grinned graciously. She glanced up at her mother and nodded. Yes please..." she beamed decently as she faced her father ponderously.

Camille stared at her father heedlessly and observed what he's reading. "So, what's the news today dad?" she asked as she poured herself some orange juice in a glass flippantly.

"Well, it would appear that Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and Sofia Hellqvist are expecting their first child together." he reckoned skimming through the supplement captivated.

"That's such incredible news!" she exclaimed sipping on her glass of juice thirstily.

"Indeed, Camille." Paul replied in an amusing voice.

Esther came back with the plate of baked lasagna in her hands and vigorously placed the dish on the dinner table sluggishly. "There you are, sweetie. Bon appetit." She said as she positioned the plate of lasagna preceding her. "Thanks mom..." she showed appreciation to her mother and obtained a nibble of the home-cooking her mother made and devoured it in her mouth steadily.

"How was the lasagna, honey? It's your Grandma Roselle's original recipe she passed down through generations before she passed away in 2015." Esther said as she took a sip of her wine.

"Mmm! It's delicious, mom. It tastes exactly like grandma's lasagna. For sure." she grinned satisfyingly.

"So, did Amy call today?" Esther asked, swallowing on her wine and continued eating her shared food.

"Yes, she did! She just hoped to perceive how the wedding rehearsal went." Camille said as she carried on consuming her dinner quietly.

"Good!" Esther replied courteously.
