Chapter 17
"Come on," Pierre exclaimed, running along the Seine River with Camille. "Where are you taking me?" she pondered running with him. "You'll see..." he grinned as they halted in front of the Seine river boat cruise. "Oh wow, c'est beau." she said in amazement. They stepped into the boat and sauntered to the deck. "Wow, I've never been on the Seine river cruise before." She admitted turning to him. "C'est ton première fois?" Pierre asked, smiling.
"Ouais, c'est ma première fois." she said as the boat began to move on the water. She pulled out her camera and aimed the lens towards Pierre. "Sourire!" she exclaimed, taking the photo joyfully. They began to fool around and took hilarious photos of each other.
"J'ai une idée... Camille grinned, setting her camera on the deck and came back to Pierre. "On va recréer une photo de Titanic." Camille went to the edge of the boat and raised her arms like Rose from Titanic. "Pierre, je vole." she chuckled as he placed his arms around her waist romantically.
"Je suis le roi du monde." He shouted to the world, raising his arms in the air excitedly. She chuckled and picked up her camera from the ground. She glanced at the photo in the camera and showed it to Pierre. "On est parfait." she said happily.
They cruised past the Eiffel Tower. "Regarde la Tour Eiffel." she pointed out taking the photo tranquilly. "Here, let's take a photo together." she said positioning the camera in the centre of the landmark. "1,2,3..."
"One more time." she ordered but this time she kissed Pierre on the cheek.
"We got it!" Camille beamed showing the photo she took with him. She glanced at Pierre and he turned bright red. "Oh mon dieu, ça va?" she said as she placed her hand on his cheek. "Ta joue est chaud."she pondered, feeling the heat on his cheek softly.
"Are you blushing?" she asked, grinning at him blithely.
Pierre looks embarrassed and blush even more. "Bien sûr que non. Je vais bien." He said, chuckling nervously. "Pierre, am I making you feel uncomfortable?" she asked, turning to him flustered. "No. Believe me, I feel great." he smiled as the boat stopped on the deck. They walked off the boat and walked along the Seine River with each other.
"I'm in the mood for ice cream. Do you know any ice cream shops around this area?" Camille asked, turning to Pierre with a grin.
"I believe I do." he smiled as he took her hand and sauntered to an ice cream stand in the corner of the Seine. "Deux vanilles s'il vous plaît." Pierre asked politely to the man. The man nodded and scooped two scoops of ice cream in the cone. "Voilà Monsieur. 10 euros s'il vous plaît." The man beamed as Pierre gave him the exact amount of money.
"Merci. Bonne journée." he greeted and took his ice cream from Camille. They sat on the bench at iIe Saint Louis and ate their ice cream. "Attends. Laisse-moi prendre une photo de nous ensemble." she beamed holding the ice cream in her hands and posed for the picture. "Do you think we could go shopping later?" Camille questioned licking her ice cream turning to Pierre.
"Yeah sure, we're going right now." Pierre said as he stood up from the bench and walked to the streets with his hands in his pockets. Camille followed him and crossed the street with him.
They wandered to some souvenir shops ahead of them and scanned the things she wished to buy. "Qu'est ce que tu penses de ce sac?" she questioned holding up a pink tote bag in her hands.
"C'est magnifique." Pierre replied with a warm smile. "Ou celui-ci?" she questioned holding up a red tote bag.
"J'aime bien le sac rose plus que le sac rouge. Je pense que tu devrais acheter le sac rose." Pierre suggested truthfully.
"D'accord, bon choix." she said paying for the bag. Camille left the shop with Pierre and decided to look for some shoes. "Peux-tu m'attendre ici?" she asked, handing him the bag. "It won't be long." she smiled entering the shop apathetically.
Camille looked at the selection of shoes and picked up a sandal from the shoe stand. She tried it on and looked in the mirror. "Bonjour Mademoiselle, est-ce que je peux vous aider?" The promoter asked in a thoughtful voice.
"Bonjour, uh... vous avez une taille 6?" she queried, showing the lady the shoe she wanted.
"Laisse-moi vérifier." she grinned and took the sandal from Camille benignantly.
She turned around to check on Pierre. He looked up to her and waved lightly. Camille beamed and turned back around. A few minutes later, the woman came back with a shoe box in her hands. "Voici votre taille de chaussures mademoiselle." she proclaimed giving her the shoe to her vehemently.
"Merci." She thanked the woman and tried it on the pair of shoes. "Vous aimez les chaussures?" the lady implored graciously.
"Oui, j'aime bien tellement. Combien?" she questioned as she took off the shoes from her feet softly handing the shoes back to the woman.
"46 euros une paire." the lady confirmed.
"Laisse-moi appeler mon copain. Je reviendrai." she smiled walking towards Pierre vigorously. "T'es de retour. Tu as encore fini?"
"Pas encore. J'allais acheter des chaussures pour moi-même mais le prix est trop cher. Je n'ai pas beaucoup d'argent pour acheter une nouvelle chaussure." she said as she a tear shed down her cheek out of the blue.
"Combien de chaussures?" Pierre questioned looking up to her. "46 euros. J'veux des paires de chaussures." she cried softly.
Pourquoi es-tu triste?" he asked, looking down at her softly.
"Je veux des chaussures Pierre. Je suis crevée marcher dans les mêmes chaussures tous les jours. J'ai besoin de chaussures maintenant." she proclaimed taking his hand and walked into the shop with him.
"Je suis de retour. Voici mon copain." she introduced Pierre amiably to the lady.
"Copain?" he turned to her perplexed. Camille gave him the glare and turned back to the woman smiling.
"Nous prenons les chaussures s'il vous plaît." she said resorting to Pierre.
"D'accord, qui serait payé pour les chaussures?" the lady asked as she packed the shoes back in the box.
"Mon copain." she replied, kissing his cheek softly.
Pierre walked to the cashier and pulled out the money in his pocket. "Combien?" he asked counting the amount of money in his hands. "46 euros s'il vous plait." the lady confirmed courteously. He gave her the money and the lady gave Camille the paperbag. "Merci bonne journée." She thanked her and left the shop briskly. "Merci beaucoup Pierre." She expresses her gratitude to him considerately.
"Pas de probleme." he smiled and walked up the stairs sluggishly with her.
Camille turned to him and grinned softly. "You know, I always wanted to watch a movie at a French theatre. I've never been to a French theatre before." she mentioned as she steadily walked up the spiral staircase slowly turning to him again.
"I'm sorry for the way I treated you in front of everybody. I was a little moved when it came to shopping. I hope you forgive me, Pierre." she apologized truthfully.
"It's alright." he forgave her as he gave her a warm smile.
Pierre looked at Camille and smiled. "Do you still wanna go to the movie theatre with me?" he proposed as they stopped in their tracks to their floor. "T'es serieux? Est-ce que tu m'invites à sortir?" she chuckled looking up at her puzzled.
"Je crois que oui." he beamed softly. "Alors, tu veux sortir avec moi la nuit demain?" he asked seriously.
Camille grinned and thought for a second. "Je ne suis pas sûre."
"Ça va si tu ne veux pas sortir avec moi. J'ai compris. Bonne soiree." he said, walking to his apartment door steadily fumbling onto his keys.
"Attends Pierre..." Camille said, walking towards him with a big grin on her face. "Oui. Je serais sorti avec toi." she said kissing his cheek.
"Oui?" he questioned with a twinkle in his eyes.
"Yes, silly..." she chuckled as she walked back to her front door sluggishly.
"I'll see you tomorrow." she waved walking into her apartment and turned back to him beaming.
Pierre stepped into his apartment and saw Gabriel and Hugo playing games online. "Salut mec. Comment se passe ta journée?" Gabriel asked, turning to him and back to the screen. "Super, je lui demande de sortir." he beamed at his friend walking to the couch.
Gabriel paused the game and looked back to him with a huge smile on his face. "Je le savais." he exclaimed loudly. "Chut elle va t'entendre." he said, placing his hand on his mouth. "Je m'en fous. Félicitations mec. Je suis fière de toi." He congratulated him happily.
"Alors, quand est le rendez-vous?" He asked, placing his hands on his cheek romantically.
"Je l'emmène au cinéma." Pierre said, still smiling motionless.
"C'est super." he beamed softly.
Gabriel went to the kitchen and grabbed two bottles of beer from the fridge. "Tu veux de la bière? He asked, handing him a bottle of unopened beer.
"Bien sûr, merci." he gladly took the beer from his hand and chug down his throat thirstily.
"Elle m'a embrassé sur mon joue." Pierre explained to Gabriel as he began to get red.
Gabriel choked on his beer and looked at him surprised. "Ah bon? Mec aujourd'hui est ton jour de chance." He smiled, wishing him joy. "Sante!" he said as they lived a happy life.
