☄My Light In The Darkness - Ship Memories ☄
This Laurmau moment I'm about to write about is my favourite. It's not very well-known, but I love it, and I have no idea why. I guess it's just because of how cute and vulnerable Laurance is here. There's also a lil' bit of sadness after the canon moment.
Enjoy~

After an adventure in Meteli village, Laurance, Aphmau, and her dogs, Thorgi and Cookie, were walking home.
Aphmau was simply ranting on about the Chicken Shaman, but Laurance had more pressing matters on his mind. He also had emotions - overwhelming emotions that would not cease if he were to ignore them. So, he stopped walking. Aphmau stopped as well.
“Laurance? Why’d you stop? Is something wrong?”
He looked deep into her eyes as words came falling out of his mouth, “Aphmau… now that we are alone, I want to speak with you.”
“W-We’re almost home but sure, yeah, we can talk.”
He nodded, as if grateful for her consent. Taking a deep breath, he blurted out, “Lord Aphmau, I love you. I’m sure you know that. Not a day goes by that I don’t want you to know how I feel about you.”
“Laurance, not this… I’m not interested-”
“I know, I know. I can completely respect your wishes for that. I’m in no rush. I understand you have responsibilities to your village as well as Levin and Malachi. However… I remembered I am a Knight of Shadows. I also remembered that you were my light in the darkness, and for that I want to thank you.”
“Where are you going with this?”
Aphmau could almost see the desperation in Laurance’s eyes as he asks her one simple question, “Even if you don’t end up with me… if I lose you to someone else… please… don’t leave me…? I just want you in my life, even if you are a star I am never able to help shine.”
“Laurance…” Aphmau smiles, putting a hand on his shoulder. “You can always be by my side, no matter what.”
“Thank you…” The emotions the could not stay inside any longer. Laurance pulled Aphmau into a hug.
With that hug, their promise was sealed.

Years later, the darkness had become too much for Laurance to bare with. He fled to the nether, separated from the woman who had broken his heart. He had completely forgotten about the promise to stay by each other’s side…
… until she came back for him.
Aphmau, Katelyn, and Garroth, with the help of Zane, attempted to rescue Laurance from the hell he trapped himself in. They begged to take him home. They wanted to help him, but Laurance was too deep in the darkness to come with.
Still, in return for visiting him, he attempted to help them escape the clutches of the Shadow Lord. He couldn’t just let the devil himself get a hold of the people he cared so deeply for. He couldn’t let him get a hold of her.
Now, Laurance is standing on top of a netherrack structure, reminiscing the good times. All of a sudden, the indirect promise Laurance and Aphmau made to each other came flooding back into his mind. She hadn’t left him. Not yet. Laurance knew she was going to come back - and, maybe, next time they could finally make amends.
“Hey! Laurance! This place is a dump, remember? We’re moving our location, let’s go!” A familiar voice called out, taking Laurance out of his trance.
“I’m coming, Zenix! Jeez, can you be any more impatient?!”
Despite being aggravated, in his mind, he said these words to Aphmau, pretending that maybe she could hear them from the overworld: “Thank you for not giving up on me. I wasn’t there to help you shine… but you’re still my light in the darkness, and I still love you, Aphmau.”
