Part 9
You're in the street again. Except this time, it's Thor's companions, you, Sif, and the Warriors Three. Chaos is the only way you can describe this. You take the sword out of the holster at your side, and the others withdraw their weapons. Thor is giving orders.
“Jane, you and the others get out of here.” Jane is obviously angry as she looks up at Thor.
“And what are you going to do?” Jane barks.
“Thor's going to fight with us!” Volstagg shouts, happily.
Thor shakes his head, and turns to us hurriedly. “I'm just a man. I would only get in the way. We'll get as many people out of here as we can. You all create a distraction.” You all nod, and he ushers Jane in them away. You turn to the thing Loki sent. It's the destroyer. You almost drop your sword.
Loki wants Thor dead, you realize. You feel cold even though the desert sun is burning. You position yourself as the Destroyer makes its way towards you and your friends. It's “face” opens, and a stream of fire gushes out from it, sending a gas station up in flames. People are screaming. Frandal, you, Hogun, and Volstagg distract it. You know Loki is controlling it, and he can most likely see you, fighting alongside the people he's wrongly named his enemies. Thoughts race through your head as you fight. You swing the sword in front of you with grace, jump out of streams of fire, and watch as Sif lands on the things back, and sticks her sword through its head. You all cheer, that is until the Destroyer turns around, and almost roasts Sif. Thankfully, she lunges away just in time.
“Fall back!” Thor shouts. You all reluctantly do as he says. Volstagg is injured; Hogun and Frandal help him back. You and Sif after them. All ten of you meet in a circle. The Asgardians, and the earthlings. You never thought you would think that as you look back at the Destroyer. Now everything is on fire. Thor walks away from all of you. Jane tries to stop him.
“Where are you going?” she shouts, a distraught look on her thin face.
“It's okay,” Thor yells back as he turns. He heads towards the destroyer. He addresses it as Loki. “It's me you want.” He spreads his arms out. “End this Loki. Kill me, and spare these innocent people.” The destroyer turns, and you almost feel yourself sigh in relief until it jerks around and backhands Thor so hard he is thrown through the air, tumbling, and spinning. He hits the ground, bloodied. You watch in horror as the Destroyer starts to move away, and Jane runs to Thor. She is crying. You can't hear what is exchanged, but your heart aches as you figure your brother lays there lying. You look to the other warriors. They all look sad. You hang your head, and cover your eyes with your free hand. Then you hear a sound that send shivers of excitement through your body. It's thunder.
Thor's hammer shoots across the sky, and you look up with a smile. Jane's friends have to pull her away from Thor. They're barely just in time, too. Thor's hand jerks up as the hammer lands in it. Lighting strikes the ground. The Destroyer turns around. You jump up and shout in triumph as the Destroyer is sent to an untimely demise. Loki must be fuming by now.

You're back at the site of the bifrost. Cars are there with secret agent looking people, and Thor is saying goodbye to Jane. You hold your arms as an ache settles in. You watch with the others as Thor swears to the agent that he's going to protect this world. You could hear yourself saying the same words if this was your situation. You look away as Thor and Jane kiss. It hurts too much; you are reminded of Loki in that moment.
“Hindrel!” Thor shouts to the heavens. You all stand in the circle where the bifrost is supposed to pick you up. You look around in confusion. Maybe he decided to listen to Loki after all you think miserably, but just as you do, the rainbow colors consume you, and you're pulled through the realms.
When you land back in the gate, Hindrel is there. You stumble a bit, but follow Thor.
“Go back to the healing room with the others,” Thor tells you as the two of you fly back to the palace. You roll your eyes.
“Thor, Loki is the reason I'm back. I'm going with you to stop him. He may not really be our brother, but I love him, and I need to see if we can reason with him.” You tell Thor as you run up the staircase. You can hear crashing and shouting up ahead as your lungs start to burn. When you burst through the door, your mother and Loki are hugging. The body of a fallen frost giant lies on the floor. You look at Loki in horror as you cautiously stand behind Thor.
Your mother sees Thor and runs to him, throwing her arms around him. “I knew you'd return,” she cries. You frown, looking at Loki who glares at you accusingly from your father's bedside. You shuffle nervously.
“Mother,” Thor growls. “He let the Frost Giants in, and sent the Destroyer to kill me.”
Loki shakes his head. “It's good to see you, brother, but the Destroyer must be following out father's last commands.”
Thor spits acidly. “You were always a talented liar, brother.”
Loki shrugs, pointing his staff at Thor. “Oh well,” he smirks. “Excuse me, but I have to destroy Jotunhime.” He shoots Thor and he crashes through the wall. Your mother and you scream. Loki races past you, but you follow him.
* The two of you are in the stables. He's putting a saddle on his favorite horse. As he swings his body onto the horse, you run to him, and you stop in front of him. He looks down out you with distaste. “Move, (Y/N).”
“Not unless you take me with you,” you say defiantly as you put your hands on your hips. He sighs, and tries to get the horse to go around you. You jump in front of him again. Blocking his path. “Dammit woman!” He shouts. Rolling his eyes, he looks down at you. “Get on then.”
You climb on, and despite himself, he still handles you gently, pulling your arms around his middle. He snaps the reigns and the two of you are off towards the bifrost.
You absentmindedly squeeze his mid-torso, and think about how romantic this could be if it were under different circumstances. It saddens you as your pressed to him as close as possible, but in truth, you two were a mountain's width apart.
*
The horse stopped in front of the bifrost, and Loki swung himself off, not even caring if you were following. You hop down, and chase after him. He acts as if you aren't following him. He walks inside. “What are you going to do?” You ask as he takes the casket out. You gasp, and turns back to you. His gaze is as cold as the planet he came from.
“Like I would tell you,” he spits. He walks over to Hindrel's sword. He's nowhere to be found at the moment. Loki places the sword in the key, and the lightning shoots up. Loki gives a sinister grin before lacing the bifrost in ice. You gaze at it in shock.
“Loki,” you scream. “You can't kill a whole race! Without them I wouldn't have you!'
Loki throws his head back, and laughs. “You don't have me, and I certainly don't have you. Because of what you've done, my promise to you is void.” This hits you like a blow. The air is knocked out of you by a few words.
After he says this, Thor joins the two of you. “Oh, and the party grows,” Loki says listlessly. 'You weren't invited.” He smirks. “Fight me, brother! He charges Thor and laughs insanely as he does so.
Loki and Thor are giving it their all as you stand, shocked into silence.
Thor brings the hammer down as Loki falls onto his back, but Loki deflects it with his staff, standing when Thor pulls away to strike at him again. Loki is somehow thrown onto the bridge, and you chase after him and Thor.
Loki and Thor are at it still when you join them. They are shouting like they were in the bifrost. What sent Loki flying out of the bifrost in the first place was acomment about Thor's Jane.
Loki is on his back again. Thor walks over to him, and lays the hammer on his chest. Loki struggles to remove it. You walk towards Loki. He looks up at you. “Help me, (Y/N).” You shake your head, and he growls angrily, yanking his gaze towards Thor. “It doesn't matter. You can't stop it. The Birfrost will build until it rips Jotunhime apart.” Thor turns back, and walks towards the two of you. He looks from your shaken figure to Loki on the ground, and lifts the hammer up.
He walks towards the bifrost, and starts laying the hammer against the bridge. Loki sits up in shock. “If you destroy it you'll never see her again.” Thor looks back at you before mumbling something, and slamming the hammer down one, last time. The bifrost explodes, and all of you are thrown.
You open your eyes, and you are holding onto Thor's leg. You feel someone else grasping your ankle. You look down to see Loki there.
When you look up, you see your father holding onto one of Thor's hands.
“I could have done it, Father!” Loki screams. You look down at him with a sad frown. “For all of us. For you too, (Y/N).”
You shake your head, holding back tears. Odin looks down at all three of you clinging to each other. “No, Loki. No.” Odin says barely loud enough for the three of you to hear him. You look down at Loki who looks absolutely crushed. Your heart is slowly cracking. You flinch each time you feel a piece of it fall on account of Loki. He shakes his head, and you scream as he lets go of your ankle. “NOOOOOO!” Thor screams, and so does Odin, but yours is by far the saddest, and most crazed as you watch the love of your life drift out into space.
