Chapter twenty four,

living in a nightmare

Citlali had easily felt herself having a panic attack and just pausing in her steps that made her boyfriend pause, worrisome that was now laced in his features when he had seen her expression, "Hey, Citlali? Baby, What's the matter, sweetheart?" He retorted.

It had ultimately captured the friends attention, especially Sam who was simply standing beside Tara, but had them ultimately made her way towards her other younger sister, Citlali. Worrisome he just appeared in her features just watching her sister having a panic attack of fear.

Citlali had easily felt as if she was just suffocating on the inside, gasping for air as she had attempted to speak, "I-I'm scared. . ." She expressed and showing her own vulnerability to the friend group who was listening in on her conversation with Chad, "I don't want to die, Chad I'm so scared." A tear of hers was rolling down her eye. Her breathing was getting heavy, and it felt as if she was sweaty despite the cold air brushing against her body.

   Chad had immediately pulled her into a reassuring hug, all while Sam had soothed her younger sisters back, "You're not going to die, sweetheart. I'm going to protect you, okay? You're not going to die." His words were so damn reassuring, but she didn't want to be a liability for him.

Sam had just felt so guilty, but then she couldn't feel guilty. But, then she did. All of this is happening because of what she did last year, and now her sister, a girl she barely met who is her sister is getting punished for her crimes.

"Chads right, Citlali. . ." Sam had gently spoken to her sister, "We're going to protect you. We, aren't letting you get hurt by anyone." She assured her.

Citlali nodded her head despite her body shaking. She let their words reassure her, but she wanted to speak to her boyfriend alone, but she'll tell him later.

"I. . . I believe you." She whispered.

Sam had gently smiled at her sister who couldn't see her gentle smile, but the moment was ultimately shorten when Tara spoken in a hostile manner.

"Can we please hurry up, or we'll miss the train?" Her voice boomed so loudly that it had made Citlali flinch.

Chad clenched his jaw.

He was tired of Tara's attitude.

Citlali replied, and just pushing her entire body out of her boyfriends grip and holding onto his hand as she tugged him to walk with her, but more so letting him lead her towards the subway, "Let's just go." Her voice sounded so quiet, trembling from the fear of all of this that was going on, but more so from the girl who had yelled that she knew it was specifically for her.

She didn't understand. Why? She's never done anything towards this girl, and all she has received is attitude and felt unwelcome by her presence.

   Citlali didn't know for how long they had been walking now, but she had ultimately she began to hear voices from those around them, and the stench of the subway, her boyfriend had spoken to her, "We're about to go down the stairs, so watch your step." He had gently told her in which she nodded her head both were walking slow but not that slow as they were in the same pace as the rest.

   A familiar voice that made her beyond uncomfortable immediately spoken, "Is this even a good plan?" He retorted with his voice that was laced in curiosity.

Citlali had immediately furrowed her eyebrows. Wasn't he the one into just telling them to go into some type of hiding not too long ago? And, now he's questioning if it's even a good idea to do?

Suspicious.

Tara had easily spoken to him in complete hostility towards Ethan, "You don't have to come if you don't want to." She had just given him a blunt response.

Citlali whispering towards her boyfriend, a part of her didn't know if Ethan was somehow even listening into their conversation, "Does he have to come with us? His presence give me the heebie jeebies." She retorted.

Ethan narrowed his eyes at Citlali.

Chad given her a soft smile, speaking in complete honesty, "I know it does, but Sam and I just don't trust him to be alone, and if he's the one who's been doing all this creepy shit to you, it'll fucking kill me if he lays a hand on you, again." He truthfully told her.

A sickeningly smirk was just plastered on Ethan Landry's face. He couldn't wait to have her soon, and remove the biggest problem out of his way.

Citlali had then easily pressed a very gentle kiss onto her boyfriends cheek that made his cheek immediately heat up. The quietness was too damn loud around the group that Sam had then spoken up with just panic in her voice, "Is Citlali here with you Chad?" She couldn't hear her younger sister, and it had terrified her if she had gotten lost.

Citlali spoken up, "Right here."

Sam had easily nodded her heard, and just speaking in relief, "Good. . ." She spoken but more so for herself as they already all managed to make it downstairs the stairs that leads them towards the train as Sam continued speaking, "Let's just get to the theater, so come on. Chad, don't lose her." She hollered.

Chad kept his grip on his girlfriend, and softly pushing her in front of him, so he has a good view of her, and speaking to Sam, "Ah — Yes, because it'll be much less scary at the killer movie theater. . ." He sarcastically answered as he continued, "And, you'd be a crazy woman to think I'd lose my girlfriend." He huffed at Sam.

Citlali giggled, "You'd probably go insane without me." She spoke towards her boyfriend.

"Very insane," He responded to his girlfriends response, "I love you too much,
I can't lose you." He softly told her.

He was too busy speaking with her, that he couldn't even hear his sister just calling out his name, all the damn noise that's around them amongst his entire conversation with his own girlfriend. But, then a little moment of silence it had captured his attention when he heard his sister, "Chad! Wait, Chad!" Mindy cried out for her brothers name, she had gotten pushed back by the crowed of people dressed up, that it was now too late to even make it onto to the train with her brother and all of them.

Citlali alongside Chad had both easily managed to be the very last ones to enter the train, especially since Danny had pulled them in, all while Chad reached his arm out for his sister to reach, "Shit! Fuck!" He yelled out as the doors closed.

The train began to move, his sister view disappearing from his view, all while he held onto his girlfriends hand in comfort. He had easily led her towards the Carpenter sisters and Danny, all while Sam spoke, "Where's Mindy?" She questioned him.

Chad had answered the question, "She missed the train. . ." His lips had went into a straight line, eyes immediately gone glaring at Danny, "We were going to wait for them, but cute boy here dragged us here along." He had snapped.

Citlali had given his arm just a gentle squeeze. She was attempting to comfort him, that it worked a bit.

Tara simply watched the interaction, swallowing down her jealousy. She didn't find this fair.

Danny defended himself, "I was trying to keep us together." He retorted.

Tara needed an excuse to snap from the anger she felt of watching Chad with another girl, so she snapped, "By separating us?" she sarcastically spoken.

Citlali heard the older man sigh. So she attempted to reassure him, "You meant well, Danny. It's not your fault." She had softly told him.

   Danny softly smiled down at the girl in appreciation who was clinging onto Chad's side. He had the. easily spoken back to her in gratitude, "Thanks, kid."

   Chad had been texting his sister as his widened at what she messaged him, "She'll meet us there, but bad news is Ethan is on the train with her." He cautiously spoken, he was damn terrified with his sister being alone with Ethan.

   Citlali had just felt herself panicking even more, and speaking up, "H-He's not even on this train with us?" She was so terrified now to learn about this.

   Chad attempted to reassure her, "You're going to be okay, he can't hurt you —" He had pressed a gentle kiss on the top of her head, as his eyes accidentally glanced upwards and his eyes immediately shown a sense of horror at the sight of the costumes, "Oh shit."

   Citlali had been so damn confused on what made all of them gasp, "What? What's going on?" She had questioned all of them, but more so her boyfriend.

   Chad had softly spoken, "Bunch of chucklefucks out here dressed as Ghostface." He retorted.

   It has given her goosebumps all over her damn body hearing that name despite not being able to see the costume, she knows of that name since she's basically being damn stalked by him. Citlali had then gone on and ultimately made one last comment, "Shitty costumes." She kept her face just buried in her boyfriends chest who wrapped his entire arm around her waist.

   This was simply going to be a long way towards their final destination, and all of them weren't prepared for tonight's events.
