Chapter eleven,

death will follow you

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

She was simply at Barnes and Nobles with her boyfriend and bestfriend with her eyes that were just simply skimming at the romance section, and holding onto a book that holds information for service dogs, she simply wanted to get all the possible information for when she gets her guide dog.

A familiar voice, speaking to her, "Ah, of course I'd find you here, Citlali." Anika sweetly said, she always knew that Citlali was the type of girl to love romance books, and also all of the cliche things.

Citlali lightly scowled, "You make it sound like it's a bad thing." She had quietly whispered back to her friend.

She was fully aware that her friend was simply right beside her, turning her head as Anika noticed the difference in her friend, it wasn't just the bruise on her forehead, it had been something else.

So, Anika had made a small little comment attempting to see if her friend can spill possibly anything else, "You look different. . . it's not the bruise that's on your forehead, but there's just something else, that I can't put my finger on it." She retorted.

Citlali had immediately felt her own cheeks flush, it was then that Anika had realized, her eyes widened, "Did you two —" A squeal left her lips before her friend shushed her, "Okay, shit. . . I'm sorry, it's just you two had sex!" She was completely shocked, but happy for her own friend.

Citlali had been attempting to not squeal, especially since they were in a book store , "It's not a big deal, Ani." It was totally a big deal for her since she was a virgin, and last night had given her virginity to someone she trusts with her entire heart, as he was quite gentle with her, and only done things if she agreed upon it.

Anika who had simply scoffed at her friends comment, "It's totally a big deal, though has he taken you out on dates before he stripped you naked?" She had her eyebrow raised, hands places on her hips.

Citlali lips had immediately began to curl upwards and had began to explain to her friend about her dates with him, "He always takes me out on dates, especially on the weekends. . ." Her smile brightened even more, "Usually on Saturdays there's this restaurant where they always have couple nights, and we dance for a couple hours, and then end the night just by speaking and also having dinner with these old married couple, and he takes me home and had at occasions spend the night with me." She can just ramble about her boyfriend to anyone, and her smile will just brighten.

Chad always made her feel beautiful, and appreciated. He never made her feel ugly or unappreciated. She was lucky to have spilled his coffee on him that day.

Anika had smiled at her friend describing a part of her relationship, "I'm so happy that you have found someone. . ." She was truly happy for her friend who found love, especially all the years that Citlali belittled herself, "I told you that you would find love." She had squeezed her friends hand.

Citlali had softly smiled, "I guess you were right, high-school was just so rough with every guy belittling me, and then humiliating me all at prom night. . ." She softly spoken as she had continued, "I felt as if I wasn't even capable to be loved because of my disability, but then I met him, and I began to feel that I was capable to be loved, as well." A smile lingered on her lips.

Anika had let all of that statement simply process in her head, slowly reassuring her own friend, "All of them in high-school were losers, and still are. . . You have found yourself a very mature guy who deserves you, and I'm glad it's Chad that had found you. He's a great guy for you." Honestly, Anika was so close to introduce Chad to her friend at some point, but she had slightly forgotten with all of her college classes, but fate had destined Chad with her friend, and she was glad for that.

Glad that he was mystery boy.

Both were just slightly unaware that Chad was just accidentally eavesdropping on their conversation, and he couldn't help, but just blush at everything Citlali was rambling about him, though he also had to slightly refrain from getting angry at what he heard about how the guys at her high-school were to her, a part of him wanted to punch every single of them, but he wouldn't. There was no point, especially when he got the girl and isn't planning on ever letting her go.

Citlali let out a little laugh at her friends comment on how she labeled their high school graduate class, "This is why I fucking love you, so much. Fourteen years of friendship, and more years with you." She had bragged to her friend.

Anika felt smug, "Of course, you love me. We've been friends since I punched that stupid girl in our kindergarten class. And, we're going to be friends until we're old." She retorted to her friend.

But, life wasn't written like the movies with beautiful endings. Citlali wasn't aware in just a couple hours, Anika will be dead. She would somehow loose the first ever person who she has loved.

Citlali smiled, "Old and wrinkly."

The two girls were just beyond laughing messes until Citlali felt her phone vibrating, she had slowly pulled out her phone, and just answering it.

". . ."

Citlali had scrunched her nose, "Who's there?" She questioned the unknown caller.

A very disoriented voice, but it was just somehow different than usual because there was a male voice that was disoriented, "My sweet girl, you've grown so much. Daddy misses you." The voice had spoken to her and sounding almost heartwarming.

Anika had the. slowly pressed her very own ear towards the phone, eyes widening when she had realized Ghostface was calling her friend, so out of instinct she had been about to search for Chad only to then see him now approaching them, she ushered him to hurry up.

Anika had quietly whispered, "Put it on speaker, Citlali." She had told her friend.

She had done just that.

Citlali had spoken to the unknown caller, "You've got the wrong person, my dads already dead." Her mom told her about the man who had visited her and sometimes would call her had died in a hospital by a killer.

The unknown male chuckled, "Perhaps, you're right, or. . ." The voice changed to a disoriented one that sent shivers down her own spine, "I still see mommy's still lying about her past, perhaps she's forgotten where she used to live. Does Woodsboro ring a bell?" He chuckled.

Chad furrowed his eyebrows, he was completely lost. He was so confused on what secret his girlfriends mom is keeping, and how she was from Woodsboro? It didn't make any type of sense.

Citlali stumbled with her words, "I — Stop already, you're talking all this nonsense, and not even telling me any type of information. My mom isn't keeping anything from me, and she's lived all her life in New York." She had groaned.

The disoriented voice had chuckled, and speaking up again, "I believe your idiotic boyfriend is with you. . . Hmm, I wonder how would he possibly feel to even so learn about the past that your mom had with someone. . . as you two resemble Mariana and Him." The voice chuckled as he continued, "History always repeats, my beautiful girl." He remarked.

Chad had gotten irritated and had gently taken his girlfriends phone, "I'm sick and tired of you always calling her, so you either speak about these secrets, or bother someone else." He snapped.

The voice responded back, and speaking quite angrily, "That's not how this works, jock. Your girlfriend is an easy target to hurt the one I want. . ." The line had went silent for a bit until it spoke, "I do wonder if Samantha will care for her, you think she'd care for her? We shall see very soon." He angrily remarked before he had hung up.

Citlali was completely lost, "What does he mean by that about Sam?" Her lips were just trembling.

All while, he had pulled her into an instant hug that had sent comfort into her body, "I'm not sure, Citlali. But, we really do need to ask your mom if she's keeping anything from you because these threats from him are getting out of hand, sweetheart." He was worried for her, so fucking worried for her.

The three were simply unaware in a certain hospital building her mom was just receiving another threat from Ghostface, and timing how long she had to live before he murders her.
