Chapter nineteen,

ashes to ashes

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

Laurel had easily seen her friend appearing towards her, and speaking to her, "I texted our manager, and she claims to never called you tonight in for work, that's so weird." She had gently told her.

Mariana had easily shrugged her own shoulders, her voice just sounded congested still, "Who cares, I could use the distraction from the events of today. . ." She sadly bit onto her apple, "My daughter hates me, but she has every reason to hate me. I lied to her." She had reminded, again.

Laurel had given her friend a reassuring smile, and speaking to her, "She doesn't hate you, Mariana. . . she's upset that you kept that from her. One day, she'll understand that you were just trying to keep her safe." She given her hand a gentle squeeze.

Mariana had wiped her salty tears with her hands, voice cracking, "The day she probably understands that, I probably won't even be here. I'm going to head into the washroom, and get Nathaniel's medication." She announced, and walked away.

Laurel practically a sad smile on her face before her eyes drifted on a strange man who had a hate covering the back of his head, and a black jacket and quietly following her friend who was clueless, "What the fuck?" She quietly mumbled to herself.

She had immediately grabbed their work phone, dialing the downstairs people, "There's a strange man in the forty floor. Can you please come and send security?" She just pleaded from them.

"Is someone hurt?" The said in annoyance.

Laurel had about furrowed her very own eyebrows, speaking back to the woman, "No, but does it even matter if no one's even hurt yet? It's better to be safe than sorry. So, please can you —" The woman on the other end had hung up on Laurel.

"Fucking bitch. . ." She had slammed the phone and ultimately sighing to herself, she ran her fingers through her hair not knowing what to do now because she had this strange feeling of this man, and she didn't know why she began to feel this strange feeling, "Fuck it." She stood up to investigate, and tell her friend about this strange man.

"Citlali, can you please answer the phone. . ." Mariana's voice had just simply cracked into the call, all while she also had the medication of Nathaniel on her hand, "I'm so sorry, that I kept this secret from you, I'll make it up for you. I have been saving money, and I think that I've made enough to help you get your guide dog. I've also heard you constantly speaking to Chad about how you really want to go to college, but don't want to go without a guide dog. Please, just call me back. . . I love you, Corazón." She sniffled as she hanged up on the phone.

She wasn't even aware that her daughter endured something so traumatic, and was still hysterically sobbing into her boyfriends body, or had a clue that her daughter received a call from Ghostface and lying about her being dead.

Mariana had just taken this as her daughter was still mad at her, and reasoning into her not even answering the phone.

A couple minutes had ultimately passed by and she had instantly heard her phone ringing and quickly grabbing onto it, the assumption had been that it was her daughter, "Citlali, you called me back. Are you okay? Did you get the voicemail?" She had questioned her daughter, a relief look was all over her face.

Her face instantly paled.

The hairs on her skin raised.

A very chilling disoriented voice had just spoken on the other line, "Your daughter is too busy with her boyfriend to give a shit about her lying bitch mother, or maybe she's dead." He snarled at her.

Mariana began to panic, "No. . . You promised that if I told her the truth that you'd leave her and us alone. . ." She yelled into the phone, "Stop already, I'm tired of this damn bullshit." She sneered in venom.

The voice taunted her, "You should've thought about that before letting Billy Loomis impregnate you." He reminded her before he continued, "I wonder what poor Randy must think, he died only for you to get with the son of the one woman who practically killed him." He practically laughed.

Mariana had gotten extremely defensive, speaking in complete venom, "Shut up, you have no right to speak about the man that I loved. . ." She had sneered at him with tears just streaming down her eyes, "No right, he was special to me. And, you have no idea on who he was, and what he meant to all of us!" She had sobbed into the phone.

Mariana admits that she did love Billy Loomis, but she couldn't love him the same way she loved Randy Meeks.

"You know someday we're going to get married, and have a bunch of kids. . ." Randy smiled at her putting away some vhs movie disks and staring at his girlfriend, "And, we're all going to binge on horror movies. . . Like just freaking imagine a bunch of mini us just running around?" He smiled at his girlfriend.

"We're going to have the biggest freaking headache, but then we can have Martha on babysitting duties." She had giggled at him clapping her hands, and sighing in adoration at her boyfriend.

The disoriented voice practically chuckled and speaking to her, "You've always been a foolish women, Mariana. Love only gets you killed, or those around you. . ." He announced before continuing, "And you're time is already up." He had easily added as he hung the phone up.

Mariana felt her heart thumping.

The sound of heavy steps behind her were heard, her heart began to thump rapidly and her hands were sweaty, slowly turning around and seen a figure that she hasn't even seen since years ago, "Surprise, Mariana. It's been long over due. You ready to die?" The knife was in his hand.

Mariana had immediately began to run towards the exit door, knocking down some chairs on the ground to spare her time, all while the figure ran faster, speaking, "You can't escape from me." He yelled out in venom.

He has ultimately picked his pace up in catching up to her. His hand had immediately intertwined into her hair, yanking her towards him as he sunk the knife into her hip that had made her scream.

She had easily elbowed him onto the ribs, swinging her leg backwards to kick them in their sensitive area that allowed her to just get released from her grip, hand placed on her hip as she began to run away, blood was appearing on her work shirt.

"Fuck you bastard," She had easily snarled and heading into the next exit, and not even looking back and just as she was about to open the door, a scream had just easily escaped her lips, "Argh." She mumbled out.

The figure had then harshly shoved her against the wall before he had intertwined his fingers back into her hair, he began digging the knife back into her abdomen, all while she had bit onto his hand that made him hiss, but his grip was tight on her.

He had slammed her entire body onto the ground, and had then straddled her hips before he had wrapped his hand around her neck and squeezed her tightly with his hand, he dragged the knife upwards from her stomach that had made her let out a piercing scream.

"Sstop. . . please." She begged.

Her vision was blurring.

He had slowly pulled out the knife before dragging the knife towards her face, "You remind me of my wife when my son had murdered her. . . begging for her life and then that was it." He taunted her.

Mariana had desperately brought her trembling hands towards the ends of the mask, and attempting to remove it, but she had no damn strength.

He humorously laughed.

And, just leaving slight cuts on her face before he began stabbing her again, she began to loose conscience.

The very sound of shooting being heard around was heard, that made the figure vanish and leaving her conscience body on the floor with her friend hysterically crying, amongst other nurses and doctors standing around her to attempt bring her out of the conscience and into surgery.

A small little confirmation
that Mariana never moved
on from Randy even if she

Everytime she see's Chad
