Chapter nine,

bruised up forehead

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

A paramedic was simply standing in front of her, and gently cleaning up her bloody up forehead, despite her body still trembling from the fear of the man who smashed the mug in her forehead, she known police officers were in here, as well.

A very familiar voice calling out for her was simply heard, Chad, she immediately detected the panic in his voice,"Where is she?" His eyes were simply searching the area for her until his eyes had finally found her.

She remained sitting in the chair, a paramedic cleaning up her forehead, he had immediately made his way towards her, and bending down to her level, "Citlali, sweetheart. What happened?" He gently placed his hand on her thigh, as she flinched.

Her hand easily found his hand that was gently placed on her thigh, as he was simply tracing small circles on her skin, he was able to feel her hand trembling, "You know that weird, guy that I have told you about that enters the cafe?" She had gently rambled to him, her voice was just cracking.

He nodded his head, speaking, "Yeah. . ."

She didn't want to be seen crying, again despite a tear rolling down her eye, "He came in today, and got angry that I wasn't breaking up with you. . ." Her voice cracked, all while the paramedic guy left them to be, "And, rambling on how he can protect me better than you, and when I attempted to set boundaries with him, he got mad and smashed an empty coffee mug on my forehead." She retorted, her voice had cracked on the end part.

His jaw clenched hearing this from his girlfriends perspective, as Sarah didn't really dive into anything all she said about a stranger harassing his girlfriend, he quickly stood up and pulled her into his lap, while she silently began to sob on his shoulder.

He soothed her arm, "He can't hurt you, again. Sarah, is describing the way he looks to the police over there." He reassured her.

She trembled against his body, "I was so stupid for being nice to him. . ." She silently sobbed against his shoulder, "I'm so stupid for being nice to him." She kept belittling herself.

"You're not stupid, sweetheart. . ." He had gently pressed a very soft kiss onto her forehead, "Don't say that about yourself." He retorted to her.

His phone kept ringing, all while he kept ignoring it. His main priority was his girlfriend who was attacked.

Citlali had sniffed pulling away from his shoulder, scrunching up her nose, "You should get that." She gently told him.

"It's just Mindy, she can wait until later. You're my main priority." He pointed out to her.

Citlali had just sighed, she didn't want to be that one girlfriend who simply thinks the world revolves around her, so she had spoken to him, again to answer the phone, "I'm okay now, please just answer your sister. Please?" She had raised her eyebrow.

   He sighed, "Okay."

She leaned her head right beside him, listening into the conversation, "Another of your monologues, Mindy? Can't this wait for tomorrow, I'm not even at the university." He deadpanned.

Mindy had gasped, "What the fuck? So, where the hell are you?" She questioned her brother.

"Something recently came up with my girlfriend, and I came over here to check up on her." He had told his sister, she casually heard her asking what occurred, as he replied to his sister, "Don't worry about it, Mindy. Can't you hold this off for tomorrow?" He questioned his sister, again.

"No. We have to do this shit today, and since we are going to be discussing suspects. . . Well —" She had lightly paused before speaking to him, cautiously on her words, "Your girlfriend is also a suspect." She quickly stated.

Chad had clenched his jaw, "You fucking serious, Mindy? We'll, be there but don't you ever be accusing her of being a suspect." He had hung up the phone.

Citlali broken the silence, "Discussing suspects what does she mean?" She was so confused.

Chad had sighed answering her response, "It's just a monologue that she does to discuss what's going on, and any guesses on who may be the possible killer." He retorted.

Citlali had understood, "Oh. . . so, I'm considered a suspect now?" She scrunched her nose.

"Which you're not a suspect, Mindy doesn't know you to be accusing you." He had casually reminded her.

She instantly nodded her head, and had pressed a soft kiss onto his cheek, all while he quickly pecked her lips, "You want to go now?" He questioned her.

"Yeah. I already made my statement and everything else, and Sarah is also giving me several days off from this incident." She gently told her boyfriend, "She doesn't want me here since chances are he can reappear, again." She sighed, sadly.

She really didn't want any days off at work because it simply cuts her checks up, and she really needed the money for her guide dog, and this man had to ruin everything.

Chad simply agreed with what Sarah mumbled out to his girlfriend, "Yeah, nope. You're not coming into work until that chucklefuck is put away, or a restraining order is thrown at him." He had sternly told his girlfriend.

Citlali had rolled her eyes, "I have a feeling you're going to be extremely overprotective as of now?" She already knew how protective he already gets, and this incident may cause him to get more over protective of her.

Chad had wrapped his arm around his girlfriends shoulder, "Absolutely, Citlali. He hurt you, and then you have Ghostface calling you, I don't want you getting hurt." He softly told her.

She had fiddled with her own fingers, "I know. . . I don't want you getting hurt either for protecting me." She glanced up at him.

"I'd rather get hurt than you getting hurt, sweetheart." He had pressed a kiss onto her forehead, "I love you way too much to witness you be in pain." He retorted.

Citlali softly smiled up at him, dimples showing from her smile, "I love you more, but don't think that I'll let you get hurt. I swear, that if you get hurt, I'll kick your ass in the hospital bed when I hear you simply stirring awake." She reminded him.

Chad simply shook his head in quite the amusement, "I'd let you kick my ass, come on let's go, pretty girl." He led her out of the cafe, as both were unaware of the lingering stare of a detective.

He couldn't wait to ruin this girls life, the same way he had ruined Mariana Perez's life years ago.
