Chapter twenty: scared
Sci's Pov:
when I saw the god of literal death, I ran as fast as my sneakers could take me. Running to the room Doc had allowed me to stay in, I slam the door shut behind me, locking it as I do so.
"Woah, *huff* that was a close one." I say to Error, who was. . . not here. . . Error was nowhere in sight.
"Error?!" I yell as I unlock and swing open the door. I thought Error followed me, I thought he would run too. But I guess not. "Error?! Where are you?" I yell into the empty, dark hallway. No answer. Of course there was no answer, Error could be trying to escape as I just wait here in fear. Without a second thought, I flip my phone out of my pocket and dial the 911 call of the multiverse.
It took a second, and I got a little worried that he wouldn't pick up, but . . . he has to pick up, right? 'Oh c'mon, hurry up and pick up the freaking phone already-'
Relief washes over me as I hear the familiar clicking noise of someone answering the phone. "Hello? Sci, is that you? What's wrong?"
I take a quick breather before answering. "Error, h-he had told me that he needed to use the restroom-"
"let me guess, he escaped?"
I shake my head. "N-no, he actually had to go, and when he was done he came out of the bathroom without even trying to run." I say, trying my hardest to stop my voice from shaking.
"Oh, thats. . . something new . . . what else happened?"
"w-well, R-reaper appeared, and I ran. . ."
" . . .I'm guessing Error didn't come with you. . ."
I nod, but quickly realize that Ink cant see me. "Y-yes."
"Don't worry, I'll be there in five seconds." Ink then hangs up.
*Five seconds later* >:)
"Alright, where was the last place you saw him?" Ink asked, his hands at his hips as he looked around the room.
"F-follow me. . ." I say as I go to open the door. I pause, "Do you think we should get Doc first? He knows the place way better than me, and he would know the first place Error could have ran too." I say, Ink nods in agreement.
"Ok, I'll go get him." he gives me a smile before grabbing his abnormally big paintbrush and making a portal. I watch as Ink quickly disappears, but a couple seconds later he comes back with a. . . not completely awake Doc.
"Ouch, what form of teleportation was that?" Doc asks with annoyance in his voice.
"My kind of teleportation." Ink responds, pausing to put his brush away. "By the way Doc, Error might have escaped, but I doubt he got too far. In other words, we need your help with this."
Doc emdiantly straightens up. "Well, why didn't you say so? Lets go!" He says as he runs to the door.

We were now walking down the hallway, heading towards the bathroom I had taken Error before I . . . ran away. . . long story short, I feel really stupid.
"Ack! Get away! Don't touch me!" a familiar voice makes us all stop.
"Gee, sorry . . ."
"Whatever just go away."
"But wait-"
"*sigh* what?"
As we turn the corner, we see Error, his arms crossed and he was glitching badly, and standing in front of him was Reaper. "How did you not die? I touched you. . . you should have dusted." Reaper said with a confused look on his face.
Error just rolls his eyes and looks up at him. "First of all, what form of murder was that? Honestly, I've been attacked for showing my face in some random AU more times than you can count, and that was the most depressing attempt I've ever seen. And second, did you seriously think that would kill me?"
"Heh, well no but-"
"then why the hell did you do it? How many times do I have to state obvious, how many times do I have to sit down, and watch as more sanses than I can even count try to rip me, stab me, and cut me into pieces? Putting me through hell, thinking it will kill me. . ." Error shook his head as he took a step closer, forcing the god of death to back off in shock.
"how about I put it into some simple words so that your tiny brain will be able to understand. Don't. Ever. Touch. Me. Again." And just like that, Error turned and walk off into a random direction, leaving the god to his own thoughts.
I was lost in thought . . . wasn't Error supposed to be soulless? Wasn't he supposed to not care? Why did he not like being touched? . . . could this be a link to why Error did not like it when Classic lifted him off of the ground? So many questions. . .
As soon as error was out of sight, a small clicking noise can be heard, interrupting me from my thoughts.
"Ack! Get away! Don't touch me!" Reaper held the tape recorder to his nonexistent ear, a smile on his face.
"Heh, you can come out now." He looks in our direction.
Ink was the first one to step out of the shadows. "You got the whole conversation on tape, didn't you?"
*click* "uhg, whatever just go away." *click*
"Yep." Reaper smiles, and then hands the recorder to Ink.
"I bet we could use this!" Ink says with smile.
Reaper nods. "Yes, but we should listen to it later, don't want Error to escape yet, do we?"
"I swear to the stars, if I could high five you, I would have done it already."
"Heh. . . yea. . ."
"Hey! We could find Error easier if we check the cameras, follow me!" Doc starts leading us down the hall, (running) Not stopping to see if any of us actually follow. (We all follow.)
Error's Pov:
I was walking down what seemed to be an endless hallway, the sound of my sandals hitting the ground every time I took a step seemed to echo down the hall. I was now kind of confused, thoughs about what had just happened were rushing through my head, making me dizzy.
"So random. . ." I grumble. "At least he didn't stab me. . ." I stop walking, only to quickly shake it off. No time for pointless thoughts right now, I've got some escaping to do.
I look around, on my right there was a door with a sign of some sort hanging above it, and to my left there was a door with a small window. I walk over to get a peek through the window, inside the room was a sleeping monster I didn't recognize, but new better than to try and break the glass window that was in there and escape, I would probably wake them. I turn around and look over at the sign hanging above the other door, but couldn't read it, it was too blurry.
Suddenly, I could hear footsteps and talking, but worst of all it sounded like they were coming my way. Acting quickly, I open the door without a second thought, closing it as quickly as I could possibly make it.
I wait and listen as the feet march right past the door. 'Those idiots.' I smile in success.
"Yo?" The small voice made me jump.
I turn quickly, only to find myself looking down at a smaller version Monster kid. "Oh! I-i didn't see you there. . ."
"That's totally ok! uhh. . . Are you here to give me a checkup? And you sound like you're choking on something. . . are you ok? " He asks, an unsure look on his face.
I quickly clear my throat, I didn't want to scare the kid. "Don't worry I'm fine, I'm . . . also a patient here! but the doctor was going to give me a really big shot, so I ran all the way over here."
The kid looks up at me, his eyes seemed to sparkle. "Wow! You must be really brave to run all the way over here! You wanna use my room as a hiding spot?"
I smile. "Of course!"
"Yay!" The monster kid goes to sit on bed, motioning with his head for me to sit next to him. "Come, sit with me mister!"
I go to sit next to him, wondering how long it will take for Sci or Doc to find him. "Sssssssssssso, why was the doctor going to give you a shot? And why do you have handcuffs?" I look over to see that Monster kid was staring at me with pure wonder.
"O-oh, uh. . . I don't really know, they didn't say anything about it." I say, looking away in embarrassment of the awkward situation I was now in.
". . . are you scared?"
I look up to see Monster kid giving me a worried look. "I-i uh. . ."
"You ran all the way here to avoid the doctor, right?"
I didn't have anything to say to that.
"I'm sure he was just trying to help. . ." his gaze meet mine, making me unsure about myself.
"Ok! Ok, they scare me." I say, turning to avoid eye contact.
"Why? Maybe I could help get over your fear! Like the great undyne would do! She's so fearless and brave!" The kid goes to stand up on the bed to pose like a hero, but falls. Luckly, I was there to catch him.
"Woah be careful, I don't want you to suddenly break a leg cuz if you do then who can I trust to keep me safe from that evil doctor?" I say in attempt to change the subject, also to give the kid reason to not do that again.
Monster kid immediately stands up straight with the biggest smile I have ever seen. "Not to worry! I will make sure that they won't get you, as long as you tell me why the doc scares you!"
Welp, I have officially failed at changing the subject. "Heh, ok fine, fine. Uhh . . . let me think. . ." the kid goes to sit back down next to me, but I avoid eye contact.
Ink's Pov:
"I'm scared that they'll make it so that it would be impossible for me to leave, I'm scared that they might do something to rid me of my magic, I'm scared that they'll make fun of me if they find out. . . I'm scared because they'll hurt me. . ."
"Why would they hurt you?"
"Let's talk about something else. . ."
"But-"
"I don't want to talk about it, ok??"
I'm speechless, I'm confused, I don't know what to think. "Wow, he's definitely hiding something. . ." I look over to see both Doc and Sci were now scribbling notes on the backs of report papers and napkins.
'Welp, looks like getting Error back is up to me and Reaper-' aaaaand he's already over there. I could see him standing in the darkest corner of the room. Quickly, I grab my brush and open a portal to the room, no time to walk.
No one's Pov:
"Undyne is the best! She's just so cool and awesome and. . ." it was at this point Error had gotten bored and stopped listening, his gaze drifting closer to the door in fear that Doc or someone might burst through and hit him with a bone or two.
"Oh hello! How did you guys get in here?" Error looks over to see that Monster kid had spun around and was now looking behind them, opposite of the door. Ink and Reaper were both standing there, and of course, they had teleported.
"Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap. . ." Error emediantly stands up and dashes for the door, but was stopped as Reaper's scythe blocked the way, paint is shot at him, turning into chains. "Dang It!" Error yells.
