6. Why My Parents Fight
Sibling 5:
Once there was a mulberry tree
It looked as innocent as could be
What were its intentions?
They caused a rise in tensions
Its existence did not cause any glee
My mother still loves the man
"Breaking up was a horrible plan!"
My father is heartbroke
He says this isn't a joke
Sometimes I see him cry by the trash can
---
I know a lot is waiting for me
Things that could satisfy my every plea
I stare at the hedge
I see it as the edge
Beyond it, I know I will be free
I can see what the world wants me to be,
and maybe that's arrogant of me,
but I don't really care
Watch to see how far I dare
My life will be a sight for all to see
---
My mother dug up the mulberry seed
Her tears that fell were a raging stampede
How could I have never seen
how much this man seemed to mean?
I can only hope their fights will recede
If not, no worries, I'll be on my way
I'll hop the hedge and run away
I'll put on my show
I'll be my own foe
I will use my guilt to run my display
