The team went back to the mountain and Aqualad told Batman that Ivo got away but his latest robot could withstand everything but Danny's lightsaber. He didn't mention what Danny did yet because none of them even understood what happened. Danny had immediately retreated to his room to meditate and they didn't think they should bother him for a while.

They hadn't seen any of Danny's masters so they couldn't ask them either, even if they could they wanted to hear it from Danny. The next day they were eating breakfast and still hadn't seen Danny, they were starting to think he wouldn't come out of his room. Right when they thought that he walked into the room and they stared at him, he sighed, "If you wish to say something just say it."

Kid Flash shouted, "What happened to you yesterday?!"

Danny looked away for a second, "I believe I have a lot of explaining to do." They all waited for him to explain and he took a seat but didn't actually sit with them, "To explain I need to tell you who I am, and what happened, but when I'm done you may hate me."

Robin spoke, "Danny, we won't hate you."

Danny shook his head, "Many people would if they learned what I'm about to tell you." He took a breath, "I need to start from the beginning, with my home planet."

Miss Martian spoke, "You're not from Earth?"

He shook his head again, "In my universe humans have long since moved to the stars, Earth died a long time ago. Technically I'm still human but I was not born on Earth, but all of that is beside the point." The heroes looked at each other but didn't say anything, "I was born on a planet called Soletar that was located at the edge of space."

"It was an ice planet, colonies resided in domes because of the harsh weather, if you went outside the domes without the proper gear you could easily freeze to death. Few people traveled outside the domes, I was one of the few that did, I'd leave and climb as high as I could on the ice pillars to watch the sun rise."

"The first sun would rise every four to five months, the second rose every three to four years and it was incredibly rare for them to rise at the same time. I saw them rise together once, I've never seen something so incredible and probably never will again." Danny smiled to himself before it fell, "But you don't need to know that, you just need to know about the people."

"My planet was known for it's inventors, we made weapons, ships, and droids we could sell or trade for supplies. Despite that we were peaceful, very few knew how to fight and fewer knew how to use the weapons we made."

Artemis spoke, "You keep saying knew, past tense."

Danny looked at his hands, "Because we were attacked." The heroes stared at him in shock, he ignored it, "Droids attacked the city and took what they could. The few that tried to fight them were killed, and a handful of people were taken to be slaves, I was one of them. I was taken away on a ship and after the ship left the atmosphere they destroyed my planet, I will never see it again."

The heroes didn't know what to say, Danny continued, "I was supposed to be a slave to a Sith lord called Sidious. The Sith use the Dark Side of the Force, they use anger and hatred to make themselves stronger. But Sidious decided I'd be an experiment instead, what they did or why isn't relevant, the only part you should know is that I'm not entirely human anymore because of them."

The heroes looked at each other, Danny didn't notice, "I found out a week after they started that the others from Soletar were dead. They tried to escape the ship and were killed before they got off the ship, I'm the last survivor of Soletar." He took a breath, "Three months after that I met Darth Maul, he was Sidious's apprentice and another Sith."

"After he met me he asked Sidious if he could train me, it didn't take much to get Sidious to agree. To say he was harsh would be an understatement, if I didn't do what he asked or I did it wrong, well, he wasn't forgiving. For three years he trained me in how to use the Dark Side, but one day I heard he went missing."

"When I heard that I escaped, I took a small ship and I left, I sold the ship so I couldn't be tracked. I did my best to stay away from the Dark Side but it was difficult and I found myself falling back to my training. I knew I needed help, I knew about the Jedi and knew where one would be, I ended up finding master Yoda."

"I asked him to train me and when he refused I told him everything, I didn't want to be part of the Dark Side. When I finished he agreed, I trained with him for two years and he then had me train with master Obi Wan. During my training with him I met master Windu, after a year I finished training with Obi Wan and master Windu offered to train me."

"After two years I'm nearly done training with him and I've learned how to stay away from the Dark Side. But there's still a chance that it will take over, I was trained by a Sith, last night I used the Dark Side." He hesitated, "I'm sorry."

The heroes were quiet, thinking about what must have happened to him was horrifying and knowing he was trained by a bad guy wasn't good either. Miss Martian spoke, "You used the Dark Side to save us."

Danny couldn't look at any of them, "And if I hadn't come back I could have killed you."

Zatanna spoke, "What would have happened if you didn't come back?"

"My masters would have sensed the disturbance in the Force and come to find me, and killed me."

Rocket stood up, "That's messed up!"

Danny seemed to get a little angry, "I asked them to." The heroes froze, "I'd rather die then live like that, so I asked them to kill me so I wouldn't hurt anyone."

The heroes didn't know what they could say to that, Superboy eventually broke the silence, "What about Darth Maul, what happened to him?"

"Everyone says he died, Obi Wan told me he killed him but I didn't feel his death, he's still out there somewhere."

Zatanna spoke, "Do you hate him for what he did to you?"

Danny shook his head, "No, I never completely hated him."

Artemis looked a bit angry when she heard that, "How could you not, from what you just told us he's a monster."

Danny shook his head, it didn't seem like he would respond beyond that and none of them could really blame him. They were shocked that he didn't hate Maul, and maybe a little outraged, but it was obvious that he hadn't told them something. They were all silent after that, Robin chose to silently comfort Danny and the others just hoped he would be okay.
